Waikiki, Oahu Nightlife

Oahu Nightlife – Dinner Shows & Nightclubs in Waikiki

From nightclubs to symphony performances and sporting events, every evening in Waikiki presents a full menu for night owls.

Visitors don’t even have to leave Waikiki to get their fill of action. They can dance the night away at a number of Waikiki area nightclubs, or catch a dinner show starring Hawaii legends such as Don Ho, the Society of Seven or award-winning illusionist John Hirokawa. You can even get a bellyful of laughs with favorite Island comedians Frank DeLima, Mel Cabang, and Andy Bumatai.

Check the entertainment calendar for any special events scheduled at the Waikiki Shell, a unique outdoor concert venue near Kapiolani Park. The Shell seats up to 2,400 people, and the expansive lawn area has enough capacity for an additional 6,000 spectators. Among the featured events here is the annual May Day concert headlined by the Brothers Cazimero.

The Neal Blaisdell Center in Honolulu is a busy venue offering a number of concerts and special events, including the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Arena Football 2 games, mixed martial arts fighting, new product shows, home, and improvement shows, and more.

Downtown Honolulu

Downtown Honolulu also comes alive at night. The historic Hawaii Theatre hosts a wide variety of shows throughout the year, including local theater performances, the Hawaii International Jazz Festival and the popular “Merry Christmas with Friends and Nabors” variety show. Also presented at the Hawaii Theatre are major productions and concerts; past performers here include the Na Leo Pilimehana, Michael W. Smith and Jaci Velasquez.

The downtown area also includes Restaurant Row and the Aloha Tower Marketplace, two shopping and restaurant complexes that are favorite nightspots for locals as well as visitors. Also in the area are night clubs that offer all types of music and live entertainment.

Evening entertainment is offered at the Consolidated Ward 16 Theatre, a popular multiplex theater in Honolulu showing the latest Hollywood blockbusters. And next door is Dave & Busters, a favorite entertainment center, sports bar, and restaurant.
