The location of the condo is excellent . . not far from the beach . . the condo was very nice, small, but had everything you need . . had a great view of the ocean and the lagoon. If I had anything to complain about, it would have to be that their pillows need to be replaced . . they were pretty flat and not comfortable and most king size beds come with several pillows as opposed to two king size pillows . . us girls like lots of pillows . . the hotels provide 6 regular pillows on a king size bed.

Loved our stay at The Ilikai #1512
We have just returned from a week long stay at The Ilikai condo #1512. My husband and I travelled with our 2 children aged 17 & 11, so I was a little worried about having enough space in a 1 bedroom condo. However this place was perfect for us. It's in a great location with an easy walk to both the ala Moana Mall and the busy Waikiki hotel/restaurant district. We got coffee each morning from the cafe downstairs and sat on the balcony looking at the fabulous view. I really liked how there were beach chairs etc for guest of the condo to use. I would recommend this condo to anyone, I think it's great value and the owner was extremely easy to deal with. The only negative thing about our stay was the lady who 'ran' the pool each morning. She was consistently rude to people, however not the condo owners fault, but someone needs to have a word with her! We simply walked the 2 mins to the lagoon and swam there instead. I would stay here again if I return to Oahu.

Wonderful Vacation
Condo 629 is very nice and confrontable. I own a cleaning business, and I found this condo to be very clean. The view is amazing! We spent lots of time on lanai just looking at the harbor and ocean. The kitchen was very user friendly and updated. We will stay in this condo again. The Ilikia is in a perfect location and everything in hotel was very clean. We hated to leave and can't wait to return to Hawaii.

Amazing Condo
This condo is beautiful!!! It is exactly like the pictures show! It was so clean. The bed was so comfortable. This condo had everything that you would need for your stay, soap, paper towel, shampoo, beach towels, boogie boards...and more...everything you would need for your stay. The Ilikai staff was always willing and happy to answer any questions that you might have! The Ilikai condo is located close to shopping (Ala Moana Mall), Waikiki shopping, restaurants and much more. There is transportation all around if you chose not to rent a car...and if you do want to rent a car for a couple of days the rental place is just across the street at Discovery Bay. The pool is heated to the perfect temperature and makes swimming so enjoyable! There were many beaches all around. We loved loved loved this condo. We especially loved sitting on the lanai in the evening and relaxing. This condo was easy to book and rent and Kim provided us with all the information we needed. There is definitely pride of ownership in this condo!

Outstanding!
The unit was spacious enough for four adults and all rooms were very well appointed. Location was convenient and transportation was easy. The only downside was the $2.50 for each wash load and $2.50 for each dryer load for laundry-thought that was a bit much. Abc stores way over-priced!

Even Better than the Pictures!
We absolutely loved our stay at this condo. The colours and decor were soothing and modern. The view was breathtaking. The location was close to the lagoon, waikiki beach, restaurants and transportation services. Everything that was promised was provided but more. Thank you so much! We will be back as soon as we can!!

Wonderful!
We were a little unsure about booking something online from a rental company that we knew nothing about. But our experience with this condo dispelled all fears. The view was great and the location was perfect. Of course, it is not on the beachfront, but it is the next best thing. It is a short walk to the beach in front of the Hilton. The Hilton lagoon is open to the public...perfect for a relaxing swim or for kids to play. And the ala Moana Beach Park (highly recommended) is a longer walk, but still doable if you're not carrying too much. The bus stops right at the corner next to the building so everything is more or less convenient. The service was good. All questions were answered in a timely manner and the room had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable, the linens in good supply, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Being on the 11th floor was no problem. There are plenty of elevators and they run very quickly. One unexpected advantage of the room was that we could watch the luau on the rooftop of the Hilton every night from our lanai! It was a little loud sometimes, but nothing that closing the door didn't block out. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. If we decide to stay in Waikiki again, we will certainly try to book this condo.

Wonderful place to stay for a family vacation!
My family and I liked this place because of its cleanliness and cozy environment. Its location also is wonderful: walking distance to the beach, it is 1 mile to the Waikiki beach, it is by the Hilton hotel where you can see the fireworks on Fridays very closely, easy access to other places and highways. The condo 1540 has secure Internet access. The kitchen has everything. It also has beach chairs and a few beach toys which may kids liked a lot... Everything was great for our stay. Thank you.

Great condo!
Very convenient. Close to beach, close to store, close to restaurants, close to bus stop. Comfortable and accomodating. Our kids especially enjoyed the boogie boards! Would definitely stay again.

location location location
Being our first time to Oahu and not knowing where to stay we were excited that we were probably as close to the beach as possible without having to stay in a hotel. Ilikai 624 had everything we needed including beach chairs, towels and even a small cooler to tote our lunch to the beach or lagoon. Beautiful views of the ocean. Condo was very clean and conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Was just far enough away from the overly crowded streets of the Waikiki Hotel strip. Even saw close up the filming of Hawaii Five-0 beside the Lagoon. Our kids loved snorkeling and paddle boarding in the calm waters of the lagoon. The Condo Management Team were awesome to work with and answered all our questions and concerns in a timely manner and most professionally. The keyless entry was a breeze. I would come back.

Breathtaking sunsets from the balcony!
Great location! We walked everywhere, ...to the beach, shopping, the mall, and great restaurants. The check-in process is fantastically simple. We are a family of four so the two comfortable double beds were great! We would stay here again if we returned to Honolulu!

Perfect
I stayed at this condo in November and was in town for business and a medical treatment, but also wanted to have some nice time out. I got it all. The condo is very well laid out and decorated. The kitchen does not miss a thing and it was very easy to get groceries and take out the trash etc.I was surprised to see someone had taken care of little things which are not important but make a big difference, such as serving trays, corkscrew, plastic containers etc.The TV was very easy to use ( I am a bit technically challenged and do not like complicated remotes etc). The condo has very nice furniture, the internet worked all the time, it was quiet and of course has an awesome view. I really liked the booking process as well. Everything went without a hitch, my e mails were answered immediately and check in was non existent, just go up and open the door!I am planning a return trip for next year.

Fantastic accomodation in the heart of Waikiki
My husband, our god daughter (19) and I have just returned from our 3rd visit to Honolulu and we stayed in room 828. It was the best accomodation we have had so far. It was large for 3 adults to stay for 2 weeks, the room is centrally located to washing facilities and lifts. The view of the lagoon and beach was fantastic and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the lanai. We even had sneak peaks of the Hilton's luau each night. The room is well appointed with kitchen items, coffee maker, large fridge and cooktops. There were even cooler bags and beach mats and chairs. Other friends of ours were also staying at the condos and our room was the brightest and most homely of all. The actual building is so convenient to the trolley bus stop, Wailana coffee lounge and in very close walking distance to ala Moana shopping Centre and car rental. We cant wait to get back to room 828 and would highly recommend it to all.

Wonderful!
Our stay on Oahu was enhanced by our wonderful accommodations in condo 1424. Very easy to book the condo, and we received our check in info about a week before we actually arrived, which was perfect. The view from the condo was amazing, the nightly luau next door and fireworks were such a treat. The location is great, a beautiful walk to Waikiki Beach and restaurants and shops. Upon first walking into the condo, our first impression was clean and cool. We couldn't hear any of our neighbors, the walls are very nicely sound insulated. We wouldn't hesitate to book this condo again if our travels bring us to Oahu once more.

Excellent
Loved the condo key arrangement, no checking in procedure or having to worry if our flight is late. #833 was very nice. Our only suggestion is to check out the toilet, as it doesn't flush very well. We would certainly stay in the unit again and will recommend it to our friends.

My spouse and I stayed at this condo and could not have asked for more. The view is breath taking, it is very close to many restaurants. The beach is just a walk away but far enough to have peace and quiet. We really enjoyed staying here. We greatly recommed it.

“ My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at Ilikai Hotel Condo#1938. It was just as promised from the ads. I arrived just after 2:30pm and use the code to enter the unit. The views from the balcony look just like this picture. I took one and posted on my Facebook page. We enjoyed our time here as this was my 3rd time in 2 years at the Ilikai. While it is not directly on the beach, its a short 5 minute walk from the hotel lobby to Ft. DeRussey beach. Which is another 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach. We could have stayed at hotels near or on Waikiki beach, but neither of us desire the crowds both on the beach or on the streets around Waikiki. The Ilikai is one of those wonderful hideaways location that is close to everything but far enough away to be more peaceful. They have a great bar & grill run by Patti, who makes everyone feel welcome and wanted. The pool is heated and has adult only hours in the morning if you wish to do some lap swimming. Buses are plentiful outside if you desire to explore Honolulu. I would suggest the Red, Green or Pink line trolley's. They are a Hop On/Hop Off bus that gives you a great view of Honolulu. Using the Honolulu bus system is easy. We took the #22 bus, just off Kuhio & Ali Moana to Hanauma Bay to snorkle. U don't need any equipment as it can all be rented but there is a $7.50 entrance fee, well worth the price. Last time I snorkled here was in the summer of 74 and it hasn't changed much in my mind. Our only issue's with the #1938 is that the shower has weak water pressure(but very hot water) and the drawers in the kitchen are somewhat sticky and don't pull out well. These are minor issue's but overall we will come back here to rent, which should be next Thanksgiving, 2012 before the world ends, so they say. ”

There were no problems with noise inside the unit . . . never heard anyone thru the neighboring walls or when the lanai doors were shut. Everything was clean, we had plenty of bathroom towels for our 5 night stay, and there were an abundance of hangars & shelves in the closet. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Made a quick trip to Walmart upon our arrival so we could make breakfasts & lunches in the unit. There was a great selection of beach supplies on the lanai, but we never ended up using them. Just nice to know they were there if we needed them. Never used the pool so can't really say much about it other than it looked pretty small. We would definitely recommend this unit to others!! ”

I had never rented a condo we had always stayed in hotel rooms, but my Texas size boys demand more space as they grow! From the time I booked the condo to the time I checked out all I can say is -What a great home away from home. We stayed at the condo for ten days and everything we needed was there from condiments in the kitchen to beach boogie board in the lanai . The location is perfect near to almost every activity and shopping excursion you might undertake. Everything in the condo was in perfect working order and comfortable, but I must say that kitchen is quite the gem. The kitchen has anything you might need from popping a bag of popcorn to making a full breakfast. Do not worry about taking anything . Ms. Santos has decked out that kitchen with everything you might need. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the condo. I can tell Ms. Santos takes pride in her property and I would like to send a big Texas thank you for sharing her property with travelers like us and giving us a true home away from home . As I was looking at the website I made my decision based on the furnishings of each unit, as if I were going to buy the place! Some had ugly furniture and non-updated kitchens. This place was great and had new appliances, a full size fridge, granite countertops and a breakfast bar. The bathroom was updated - large shower stall, but no tub, low profile toilet, and a single sink vanity. Minimal counterspace, but was able to use the linen closet for my toiletries. Fantastic view of the lagoon and we were able to watch the Hilton's nightly Luau from the lanai. A leather sofa sleeper in the living room, along with two chairs. The sliding shoji screens separating the sleeping area from the living area didn't go all the way to the ceiling, but they served their purpose. Had to make a trip to Don Quijote to purchase full size bar of soap and additional toilet paper; a box of Kleenex would have been nice. A little strange to dump your own garbage and no daily housekeeping service. I would definitely stay in this unit again. ”

Breakfast buffet was perfect for filling our bellies before heading out for the pool/beach. Easy check in and check out and we had no problems with the condo while we were staying there. Overall, it was a great experience. Our only challenges came from traveling with a very spirited 2 year old boy. ”

The laundry was very handy across the corridor. The fireworks on Friday night were special from the balcony as was the laui from the Hilton every other night. We booked an extra night after our original booking without any problems. Thanks for a very comfortable stay. I will have no hesitation in recommending this condo to all my friends & family. ”

Every morning went down to the beach for a walk (there's a boardwalk along the way.) Location of the Ilikai is great, right on the city bus line, plus stores are across the street and the Aloha Shopping Center is within walking distance. Parks nearby, too. Hotel lobby was in good condition. Five elevators and no problems. The only drawback is the unit is located near the elevators and the mechanical room. If you are noise sensitive, that could be an issue. The fan speeds drop way down later in the night and then everything becomes very quiet. I slept with the lanai door open and that helped with other "white noise" and all went well after that. Since you're on the 15th floor, it should be safe to leave the lanai door open until it gets more quiet. (My brother and sister-in-law stayed in another unit and stopped by. They are not noise sensitive and could not hear the fans!) Otherwise, the unit was wonderful and it was very convenient to be close to the elevators and laundry room in the hotel. Very private, too. ”

There are many hotels that we could have stayed in for the same amount that offer daily cleaning and are situated much closer to the action of Waikiki. ”

“ Telling everyone about condo unit 1512 is like telling everybody about your favorite fishing spot - something you'd rather keep a secret but it's too good not to spread the word!! The condo was better than we expected and better than advertised. The view was spectacular, the unit immaculate and handy to laundry facilities, garbage disposal and elevators. Lots of storage and many conveniences in the kitchen i.e. blender, microwave, corkscrew etc etc. It's a mild exercise to walk to the beach and the main tourist areas, however that neck of the woods is a little quieter and has the Outback Steakhouse and Red Lobster close by and the Ala Moana Shopping Centre is only a 10 minute walk. Other reviews we have read on this unit have referred to a noisy fan behind the kitchen wall; we found this a non-issue as some 'white' noise is relaxing and probably helped us sleep! Unfortunately we must recommend this condo (but please don't everybody book it up solid for the future - we want to go back!) !!! Thank you Eleanor...it was a dream holiday! ”

“ This was a very nice condo ~ more worn (privacy screen was in need of repair, but we did not use it)than we expected but in very good shape overall. The view from the deck is splendid. There was plenty of bedding available, as well as beach towels. Having an internet connection was a very nice perk. The smoke alarm battery died & the unit would not shut off even when battery was removed (electric) and the owner's people were very good about coming to replace the battery - actually we replaced it to "shut it up" and we were reimbursed for this expense. There is no dishwasher, but we ate out or at our daughter's larger condo so this was not an issue for us. The livingroom area could use a ceiling fan. There was a sand chair in closet, a boogie board & a beach umbrella but they were all broken. All in all we had a very nice week in this condo, and I would recommend it. We were disappointed in the $120 cleaning fee, as other relatives were not charged or paid a lesser amount. Would check more closely on this cost next time. ”

It was also centrally located to anything that one may need. The room was fully stocked with everything needed for the stay; towels, beach towels, kitchen utensils, etc. There are also books and DVDs for down time. Our only complaint would be the parking. There is no "free" parking. There is free daily parking by the beach but its not overnight, hourly parking across the street (25 cents an hour)by the harbor or valet parking at the hotel for $25 a day. We opted for valet parking as the easiest and least stressful. Plus, with valet parking, you can pull right up and empty your trunk. The backside of the hotel offers only stairs. However, we would definetely stay again if we return to Hawaii. ”

The apartment was big enough for 3 adults with a king size bed and sofa bed. The kitchen had all required appliances available. Bathroom was a good size with shower, not a bathtub. There is balcony that looks over the back of the hotel facing the ocean. There is partial ocean view as the balcony also faces the back of another hotel. Location is ok - it's about 20 mins walk from Waikiki beach (which is quite long - Ilikai is on one end of Waikiki). It is 10 mins walk to Ala Moana, the main shopping complex. Easy to get to the bus stops at Ala Moana. Coffee places, convenience store and restaurants are all near Ilikai. I enjoyed the apartment, it's very comfortable for long term stay. It made me feel at home. ”

BUT REMEMBER: you are renting a condo that is located in an old hotel. All of the shops on the main floor were closed accept a small food store that was extremely overpriced. No restaurants/gift stores etc. You will not receive any assisance from Hotel Staff. Parking is extremely overpriced for condo rentors. You are not welcome at the pool. Yes you can use it but the other owners will not make you feel welcome. ”

The dishwasher was especially nice to have. The view from the condo was nice overlooking the courtyard and marina with easy access to the beach. The air conditioning was nice on the hot days. The conference centre is a 15-20 minute walk. Although there are aBC stores everywhere, a larger grocery store was close enough (about a 7 minute walk). This is as good as we expected for the price and location. We would definitely stay again if we need to return to the area. ”

The condo and views looks just like the photos except the sofa and bedspread have been very nicely updated. The condo is very quiet and well-stocked. The bed was so comfortable. You can catch the trolley and the local bus right outside the door. Phone Honolulu transit for directions and times. It's an inexpensive, clean, comfortable way to get around the city. Check-in was very easy with the electronic keypad. The air-conditioning was quiet inside the apartment. There are fireworks on the beach on Friday nights. Valet was very helpful arranging a shuttle for the airport. Would highly recommend this condo and want to give a big thanks to the owners for providing us with such a great place to stay in Waikiki. ”

It was my parent's first time at Illikai and they enjoyed their stay as the condo was like a 2nd home and a good size for all three of us. “ This condo is central to all things Waikiki! The hotel is a short walk to the biggest shopping centre in Hawaii and to some of the nicest beaches too! For places a little further out, the trolley stops right outside your door, how's that for convenient. Access to the condo via electronic keypad was extremely convenient. Check-in was hassle free and no worrying about losing keys. The apartment itself was clean and fully equipt with everthing you would need to cook like you do at home. Loved the extra's such as tips on cheap car rentals and parking (we used these and saved a bundle) chairs and mats for the beach and sand toys for the kids. If I had to complain about anthing at all there would be only 2 things that prevented this from being absolutely perfect. 1 - the sofa bed is really uncomfortable (however we ended up putting the kids on this and taking the king bed which was very comfy & 2- water pressure in the shower was not the best and left my hair somewhat flat but all in all nothing that put a damper on our stay. I would recommend this condo for anyone looking for affordability in a 5 star location. The Hilton is right next door but 3 times the price (and doesn't have a kitchen). When we return to Hawaii we will deffinately return to this condo. Thanks Rocco, for being so helpful from the very start of our accommodation search to our return home. ”

It was our first experience with this type of accommodation, and I have to say we were extremely pleased. The condo was very clean, had a very comfortable King bed and sofa bed, and a kitchen equipped with new appliances and more dishes than we could use. The Ilikai Hotel and Suites is a gracious and comfortable site, offering a lovely open-air lobby, a very nice pool, and interesting restaurants. We liked the value and cleanliness of this property the best. The only disappointment was that it had no health club privileges associated with the rental. ”

“ The condo was great for two people. The sofa was a bed if you had more people. There was a queen bed bed but the entire room is the condo. It was great and comfortable for my wife and myself. It has a balcony that we sat on and saw a fantastic fireworks show for the 4th of July. There is a firework show every Friday on the beach. We did go to the beach and traveled around Waikiki via the Trolley. The information package that was left in the room was helpful. I would recommend this condo to anyone keeping in mind that it is better suited for a couple. Kids would be OK on the sofa but another couple in the condo would would make it small. I would stay there again. ”

The location was great as it was far enough from the hustle and bustle of waikki central, but close enough to have an enjoyable walk. The only down side was parking. Valet was quite expensive, and no alocated spot for this particular apartment. We had to find parking at the beach behind the apartment, which was a little annoying.I would recommend the Ilikai apartments to anyone and I would definately stay there again. ”

Our previous four stays in Hawaii have been in expensive tiny hotel rooms around Waikiki; staying in a full size apartment and preparing our own meals, without housekeepers arriving when they were free, was a pleasure. We are so pleased we had taken advice from a Canadian couple we had meet in 2008 at Ala Moana Mall who recommended Aloha Condos. Ilakai Hotel is obviously having a full make-over, but the construction work did not interfer with our stay. When the hotel shopping mall reopens and the construction work ends, we would rate the overall experience at five star!! ”

“ Location: you just cannot beat it. Not in the middle of Waikiki is so much better so that you can have peaceful nights. Parking: you have to use valet service, and $18/day might not be cheap, but boys are always there with smiles and at the end, I really do think it is worth it. I hate driving around looking for parking spots anyway. View: sunsets were so beautiful! Kitchen stuff: everything worked, and plenty of plates, mugs, utensils etc. absolutely no problem. Bed: bed was firm and nice. I wish you had different type of pillows though. They were too soft for us. Bathroom: everything worked: Maybe you might want to add a small size of soap for the sink, and leave a larger one for shower for guestsâ convenience. Keyless entry: first we had some problems locking, but once we figured it out and once we memorized the number, this was the best idea. Why anyone wants to use card key! Imagine losing the room key at the sandy beach!! We stayed for 8 nights and we needed to change sheets during our stay. I noticed you had only twin sheets sets on the selves. Maybe you should change them to Queen size, just in case of guestâs longer stay like ours. ”

“ Service getting the condo was very good. No question has to what to do. Location was good despite the new building and noise outside every morning. Good things -- kitchen was well stocked with dishes,etc. the dishwasher a great plus. Lighting generally fine. Not so good things - the bedding was terrible. The plastic sheet on the bed made it feel like you were in the hospital and it made the bed too hot. Bad! Also, one small bar of soap for both handwashing and shower for ten days for two people seemed pretty stingy. Toilet paper for two for ten days was not enough and we bought our own as that provided was of very poor quality. Need to do better with the bathroom stuff. Other than that a great time. Thanks. ”

“ We (2 adults, to children) stayed in Unit 629 and were very happy overall with the accommodations. I would not consider this a high end unit, but it is comfortable and nice at a very good price. We arrived early and Aloha Condos was able to accommodate our early arrival at no extra cost....thanks Rocco! View of Ala Moana boat harbor and sunsets were great. Building across the street still undergoing renovation but, other than a slight eyesore, it did not bother us. This room was very quiet, no noises from adjacent rooms nor from outside. This is not in the heart of Waikiki, but only a 20 minute walk to the International Marketplace. We enjoyed being a bit away from the crowds and the extra walking was good for us. The only difficulty we encountered was with the $250 security deposit authorization on our credit card...seems the funds transferred out of our account but the owner shows no record of receiving funds on their account. Still working with banks to resolve, check your bank statements carefully if you book here. (I believe this is an honest "mistake," Rocco has been very responsive in working with us to resolve this issue. Other than that, we were very satisfied and would recommend this condo ”

“ Everything about the condo was simply fantastic - from the location to the view of nightly sunsets! The bed was extremely comfortable (I'm not easy to please when it comes to sleeping). Even though I had to make my own bed each day, it made for a much more relaxing vacation as I didn't feel as though I had to hurry out in the morning so the housekeeping staff could come in. The only thing that would have been nice would be a couple more bath towels. Found that I had to launder towels twice while I was there a week. Overall the condo was wonderful, clean, quiet, and well furnished. Even the construction going on across the courtyard was not a problem. We found very nice restaurants within a pleasant walk from the condo each evening - never ate in the same one twice. ”

There were 3 issues: the shower didn't drain and we were standing in 3 inches of water and we couldn't get the alarm to work. We were also disappointed to find the apartment block opposite (which is shown in the promotional photos/video) was under construction and not very pleasant to look at. Other than that, we thought the keypad was fantastic - no worries about losing keys at the beach. The location was great - very central. ”

“ We enjoyed our stay in condo 629 and dealing with Alhoa Condos. I have told a friend who will be visiting Honolulu to contact them and be sure to stay in condo 629. We had just stayed at a condo in Seabrook Island and were so happy to see the little things that go along way such as coffee filters and salt, pepper, foil, and plastic wrap, that the condo in Seabrook did not have. I know this items seen small but when you go to do something such as cook its very nice to have the items at hand. The decor was wonderful and updated, the view fantastic. Go to the restaurant on the 30th floor, go for happy hour and and early bird dinner (a lot less expensive) the view is breathtaking!! One thing I hope the owners might add would be beach chairs, umbrella, and a small ice chest to use on the beach. Also a book with information such as where the grocery stores are and directions on how to get to them. I do hope we can return again. A special thanks to Cat who helped us out so much ”

Our room was large, clean, had a kitchen and a fantastic view of the mariana and ocean from the balcony. We watched ships come in and out of the port. “ Rental was clean and well taken care of. Cozy bed with nice sunset facing view, although a few buildings naturally get in the way. Located close to Aloha towers and chinatown. Very quite in the building and very private - no tourists mad dashing for the elevators. Owners are very attentive to your needs and respond quickly to your requests and questions. Just be aware of a few minor caveats: 1. Parking is not fun - must weave around to the 7th floor to get parking. If you don't make arrangements with owner to get a hand tag parking is very expensive. Hand tag parking only accepts cash so be prepared to shell out. Persoanlly owner should have a space in the garage and let you use it. Additionally, getting into the parking garage is a pain, so many one way streets, if you don't come straight down Bishop you are gonna be frustrated. Street noise is a problem in the morning. Bedroom needs real curtains, blinds don't keep the sun out so it is a great alarm clock in the morning. Although there is a Long's drug at the base of the building, it and most other businesses close early since you are downtown so plan ahead. The kitchen in the condo is small and slightly sparse, just a small cooktop, a microwave and a small toaster oven, but it was ok for light cooking. ONe other warning, this unit cannot really sleep 4 in my opinion. Thehre is one queen bed in the bedroom and a small swivel couch in the living room/kitchen - can't see how one person- let alone 2 could sleep in it. Fair price for what you get though and being downtown especially for business was a plus. ”

This condo had everything that you would need for your stay, soap, paper towel, shampoo, beach towels, boogie boards...and more...everything you would need for your stay. The Ilikai staff was always willing and happy to answer any questions that you might have! The Ilikai condo is located close to shopping (Ala Moana Mall), Waikiki shopping, restaurants and much more. There is transportation all around if you chose not to rent a car...and if you do want to rent a car for a couple of days the rental place is just across the street at Discovery Bay. The pool is heated to the perfect temperature and makes swimming so enjoyable! There were many beaches all around. We loved loved loved this condo. We especially loved sitting on the lanai in the evening and relaxing. This condo was easy to book and rent and Kim provided us with all the information we needed. There is definitely pride of ownership in this condo! ”

Dated linens,not really at the same level as the look of the rest of the place. Wimpy towels, tattered bedspread, but otherwise clean and nicely decorated. The unit is modern and attractive. The layout is basically one big rectangle room and a kitchen off at an L to the room. If one person wishes to sleep and the other to watch TV, you can't really do that without disturbing the other. The unit is non-smoking, but the hallways reek of smoke at times from some of the other tenants. Overall, this was a great buy compared to hotel rooms nearby and had the added benefit of a kitchenette. ”

“ I wish I could give six stars for location, comfort and cleanliness as they were beyond perfect. When we downloaded our vacation photos we discovered most were taken of the views and sunsets from our lanai overlooking the marina where the Minnow sailed from "for a 3-hour tour". We enjoyed lying in the very comfortable bed and looking at the view via the mirrors on the closet doors and the real view. Doesn't get better. We looked at perhaps 11 Ilikai condos to rent and are so glad we chose this one. Far enough from the elevators and the best angle for the view. Also lovingly decorated and stocked. (Even shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, dishwashing supplies, and a Welcome bag of coffee!) My husband will attest that I'm very critical (worked in hotel management for 13 yrs.) but could find very little to complain about. Ok, a few skirt hangers would have been nice. But Kim thought of everything else for our comfort including a keyless door lock. Don't pass this one up. You'd be sorry. We loved the condo, walking to everything, and having so many buses stop at the Ilikai. Oh! Try to catch Hawaii Five-O on tv while you're there. Jack Lord stands on an Ilikai balcony during the opening sequence! Wishing we were still there...watching the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Friday night fireworks from our lanai, walking along Waikiki's boardwalk, and drinking mai tais nightly. ”

“ Everything we read in advance about this condo turned out to be true: stunning ocean views, marvellous sunsets, great location. Looks even better than the photos. I would like to add that the unit is spotless, the king-size bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the building is quiet. The owner, Kim, was pleasant to deal with throughout the reservation process and came willingly to our rescue when I goofed up the safe combination. An unexpected bonus is that we saved money because no restaurant could compare to having dinner on the lanai while watching the sunset. There is a good grocery store (Food Pantry) a couple of blocks north on Hobron Street and an even larger grocery store in ala Moana Shopping Centre. I wish I could return to this Shangri-la tomorrow! ”

The owner was very professional and easy to deal with via our many emails back and forth through the booking process. Thanks for the complimentary bag of coffee, much appreciated as our flight arrived late. We made alot of our meals in the condo and enjoyed use of the spacious lanai. We also appreciated having the bogie boards and beach towels. Location is perfect for someone wanting some quiet time and the beach is only a 5-10 minute walk. The ala Moana Shopping centre is about a 5 minute walk and has many shops, including Foodland where you can purchase your groceries and other items. There are also many restaurants and other retails shops within an easy walking distance. Would highly recommend, it was great to have such a comfortable place to stay and relax. ”

I went to 2 other resorts on the island for visits; and they didn't come close to Unit 1531.The condo is furnished with new and very expensive furniture. We overlooked the Marina and Ocean; sharing the beach with the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Fridays Fireworks and the 4th of July fireworks display were the best on island from our large lanai. We had beach chairs, buggy boards, slippers, beach towels. The unit was supplied with everything but food. I enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen. The laundry room/trash.was very close. Although I rented a car for longer trips; a car was not necessary. I wrode the bus or the trolly to other parts of Waikiki. The owner was very nice to work with. She answered alll my questions and gave excellent advise. ”

Downsides to the unit are the fact that there's a lot of street noise with the windows open (including night-time construction outside when we stayed), and the second "bedroom" is just partitioned off, with a partition that doesn't latch; this was ok for our teenagers, but wouldn't offer privacy. Also, the modem was flaky, periodically cutting out the internet. ”

Within walking distance of just about every thing in Waikiki. 4) cleanliness. Reasonably clean (not great but good). Bad: 1) Only one bedroom, not two as stated in adds. The other sets of beds are not in their own room, but behind a pull across privacy screen--no separate air conditioning no isolation. This is false advertising and the management company should be taken to task over this. This is a very big negative. I would not have rented in if I knew this in advance. 2) Carpets. We were asked to not wear our shoes on the carpet. This was a real pain, especially with a 2 year old. The carpet is old and looks shabby, needs to be replaced. 3) the wireless did not work. 4) not enough dish washer soap for the stay. L 5) the Ilikai does not allow alcohol outside of the bar and grill. 6) even this is at a hotel, you do not have access to all the hotel privileges. ”

The website for Ilikai 1110 has pictures, video and text describing the condo in great detail. The 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds is shown with the divider door.
There are 2 air conditioners that allow for different settings between the 2 bedrooms.
If a guest has wireless internet connection trouble they only need to plug in the Ethernet cable to the modem to get Internet immediately. Unit instructions provide the wireless password. Our Local Contact Person is available to answer any questions.
The Contact number is also provided in the instructions.
Amenities (dish washing liquid, dishwasher soap, sponge, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, pen and notepad, map) provided are intended as a starter set. The unit is not stocked with condiments. There is a store on the lobby level and other stores within a short walk that are listed in the visitor Information posted on the door.
All of our units are professionally cleaned after every check out and each unit is checked for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
On our instructions, we ask our guests to notify us about any concerns so we can correct them immediately. The white plush carpet is regularly cleaned by a professional carpet cleaning company. Because we care about the carpet's condition, we kindly ask that the Hawaiian tradition of removing shoes at the door be observed.
Consumption of alcohol is only allowed in the guest's condo or in the 2 restaurants and bars. One is located on the top of the tower with a sweeping view of the coast and city. The other is on the lobby level. Our registered guests have access to every Ilikai area and service except the bell hop and gym.
We encourage our guests to contact us before, during and after their stay if they have any questions.

The location is fantastic, right at the end of Waikiki beach, footsteps away from the Hilton Lagoon and the ocean itself. The views from the decks (lanais) were fantastic. We saw some amazing sunsets, a guy in robes blowing a conch shell daily, and had a great view of the upscale pool/bar areas next door (which we checked out in the evenings). The condo was big, open, with tons of natural sunlight. Overall it was a great value compared to other beachfront Waikiki options. Only gripes: cleaning fee seemed high (but still overall a great value), the condo could use more lighting, especially around the dining table (very minor nit pick), the internet seemed slow/spotty sometimes (not sure how much they can do about that). Also, the instruction sheet could specify where garbage/recycling is. (We found it, though.) One last thing -- we found out late in our trip that the hotel & marina outside were used to film many memorable scenes from the TV show lost. If you're a fan, it's another yet reason to stay here. (Search the web for sites that go through the Oahu lost locations to see which were filmed at the Ilikai and the marina/harbor. There were some very memorable ones.) ”

There were several couples staying in various locations but we would often gather here to share meals, talk story and admire the view overlooking the marina, ocean and wonderful sun sets straight out in front of us. The room was setup nicely, well appointed with modern fixings. It had everything we needed to accommodate our needs. The master bedroom with its own bath situated to the back end of the unit was nice, cozy and private and had a separate balcony. And, as we played hard during the day, it was great to have a nice comfortable king bed to sleep in and get rejuvenated. The unit appeared fresh and well kept, and with that I am not sure I want to recommend it for others to use because we want to return to its fresh condition and keep it a best kept secret of the Ilikai. The only recommended improvements would be the draw string vertical overlap louvered curtains and the air con units are a little noisy. ”

Given that it is a one-bedroom, it is quite spacious. We were in town for Uh's graduation ceremony and were able to host a dinner for 8 people very comfortably. Valet parking is $25/day which was a bit high (I thought) but it was well worth it given that nearby self-parking was $20/day. The valets were courteous and the car was delivered quickly. Online reservation process was effortless and owner response was excellent when contacted. Would highly recommend this unit and would most definitely stay here again. ”

She looked at all of the different hotels and weighed the plus' and minus'. We finally decided on Unit 1639 at the Ilikai. What a great call. We loved this suite. We actually had friends come with us and they stayed in a different room at the Ilikai so we were able to do a little comparison while we were there. Although their room had two beds there was no storage so they had to live out of their suitcases. We had nice big clothes and linen closets. Their room felt like a hotel room, ours felt like a home. They did not have the same services as us, such as free internet, free long distance, and our tv service was better. Although we loved the rest of Waikiki, this room was the highlight of our trip. The view of the marina is great and the sunsets are fantastic. The Ilikai is located at the end of the beach but this was not a problem for us. It is no more than a short walk to anything. We will happily stay in this suite at the Ilikai again. ”

We loved every moment from the friendly greeting by the Porter who helped us with all our bags to the great location only minutes walk from Ala Moana Shopping Centre and Waikiki shops/beach. The owners have created a very comfortable unit although within a small area. It is probably better suited to just one couple, however we had our 11 and 12 year old daughters with us and they were comfortable enough sleeping on the fold out couch. I must admit given the cost I had warned my family not to expect much having stayed at places up to that point that were 2 or 3 times the price, however once I opened the door we were all blown away at how beautifully the unit was furnished. Also the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a family meal etc if you wanted. The views from the balcony over the harbour were also quite relaxing. Overall I found the unit much quieter than previous accommodation we had stayed in at Waikiki Beachwalk. The only thing that would make this unit better would be if it had laundry facilities but there really isn't the room. There may be facilities elsewhere within the complex, to be honest I didn't ask. The owners may like to replace the locks getting into the unit as we found them a bit tricky sometimes to get open. Other than that I would honestly say that if you are a couple looking to stay in Honolulu you couldn't do any better. Thoroughly recommend and if we come back to Honolulu it is definately where we will stay! ”

The only thing that I could complain about was that there was construction going on at the building next door and so we could not enjoy the lanai in the morning or afternoon because the jack hammering was too loud. ”

Although the boats were not much to look at, the sunrise/sunsets from this condo were awesome. You can even spot the surfers on the distant beach, and see regular cruise ships and freighters pass by. Our only concerns were the sliding door lock and the main bed. We had our 3yr with us, and there was no way to securely shut the door -- so ended up barricading the doors at night with furniture...lol. That and the main bed was really uncomfortable -- our son definitely scored with the comfy sofa bed. Re: Ilikai in general - many stores downstairs (lobby area) and the on-location restaurant were boarded up and vacant during our stay, so it has seen better days. The hotel next-door (what you see from lanai) is still undergoing renovation, but construction noise was not an issue. So barring the lobby area, the courtyard gardens were gorgeous. Plus every evening they light the torches outside and have a brief conch shell ceremony around sunset. Also has to be mentioned -- the shared lagoon in walking distance directly before the beach was awesome. They stock it with tiny fish, so all the kids had a blast trying to spot/chase/catch them. Turned out to be a lifesaver when we found out our son thought the sound of waves was 'too scary'! ”

“ We were a little unsure about booking something online from a rental company that we knew nothing about. But our experience with this condo dispelled all fears. The view was great and the location was perfect. Of course, it is not on the beachfront, but it is the next best thing. It is a short walk to the beach in front of the Hilton. The Hilton lagoon is open to the public...perfect for a relaxing swim or for kids to play. And the ala Moana Beach Park (highly recommended) is a longer walk, but still doable if you're not carrying too much. The bus stops right at the corner next to the building so everything is more or less convenient. The service was good. All questions were answered in a timely manner and the room had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable, the linens in good supply, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Being on the 11th floor was no problem. There are plenty of elevators and they run very quickly. One unexpected advantage of the room was that we could watch the luau on the rooftop of the Hilton every night from our lanai! It was a little loud sometimes, but nothing that closing the door didn't block out. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. If we decide to stay in Waikiki again, we will certainly try to book this condo. ”

Our only criticism of the condo would be the air conditioning. Whilst it wasn't too hot in Hawaii during our stay the air conditioner still needed to be on and was very noisy. The kitchen and bathroom in the condo is dated but still comfortable and clean. Having access to things like beach towels, mats, chairs, cooler etc was really great! ”

My daughter slept on the sofa bed, she added the foam padding from the closet and slept well. The view was so nice, we watched the surfers every morning while having coffee on the lanai. We had breakfast in the condo every day. The location is at the beginning of Waikiki. For us, the location was better than the middle of Waikiki. The beach is larger and less crowded -- no umbrellas in the way either! We did go to the main area of Waikiki for our daughter to surf, better for new surfers. We had a rental car and parked in valet at the Ilikai, the easiest thing to do. It was $25 per day, in and out as you please. Really, quite a deal when you think of how much money you save over a hotel in the middle of Waikiki! I used to live on Oahu so we had to drive all over the island so I could reminisce, such a beautiful place!! We didn't see much of the luau at the Hilton, not impressed, really, a luau on a roof! Go to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a great show. Didn't watch their luau either, was busy eating, but, the show afterward is really good. Wonderful place to stay. ”

The location, the unit, the hotel, the view, and the nice extras were all part of a formula for a vacation in which each day was the best day ever. The kitchen was nicely supplied, there were plenty of towels for showers, the extra blankets and plentiful supply of pillows made a very nice pallet for the toddler. We enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony and loved the up close view of the Friday fireworks. The hotel gym, shops, general store, and restaurants were a convenient touch and came in handy. The hotel is within walking distance of a nice supermarket, bus stops, package stores,restaurants, Ala Moana mall, and ala Moana park (which became one of our favorite spots to visit). The only suggestions I would make is to add plexi-glass to the railings of the balcony to make it a bit more child friendly and to rearrange the furniture to allow the air con to run more efficiently. Nonetheless, I will recommend unit 1540 to anyone I know that may be heading to the Island. Thank you for an incredible memory. ”

The condo was clean, beautifully decorated, had all the amenities one would need. The view from the lanai was spectacular and is the best place to watch the fireworks on Friday nights. I got many wonderful pictures / memories from that lanai. My wife loves to shop,so the proximity to the ala Moana Shopping Center was very advantageous. Many fine restaurants within walking distance like the Chart House. Having the full kitchen was great. We cooked and ate most of our breakfasts in the condo. Slipping coffee and eating breakfast on the lanai was the thing to do. We were able to purchase (at great prices) fresh fruits, breads, cookies, loaves, quiche, salads, etc twice a week right down in the courtyard area of the Ilikai. What they did not have the aBC Superette (carries more than a regular aBC store)is just down the block and across the street. I can not say anything bad about the condo. It not only met our expectations, but it exceeded them. When we go back, we will definitely be booking this condo again. ”

The view is even better then pictures can provide. The Condo has everything you need from towels, hand soap, toilet paper, iron, hair dryer, to a fully stocked kitchen, which was gorgeous. The bed was a King size with nice linens and lots of pillows, the couch was comfy and the décor was really cute. We also had pool towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and beach chairs The unit is located in a fabulous location so close to everything we needed. Plus it's very Quiet inside, we were not bothered by anyone. Waikiki Beach is just right outside and after walking down Waikiki, believe its the nicest part of the beach. We did not rent a car and found many things were in walking distance and the convenience of shuttles, and bus's and trolleys right out front was great. The aBC stores are right there for a quick pick up of things, but there is a Wal-Mart behind the Mall as well as a Foodland where you can get groceries. They also have a Costco and a Safeway all within a short distance from the Ilikai all huge cost savers. It was so worth the trip out to the flea market held at the aloha Bowl. There is a Trolley that will take you to and from; it has really great deals on trinkets and treasures, clothes, jewelry and even local fruits and vegetables. The birds eye view from the lanai gives you access to a rooftop luau at the Hilton and a amazing view of the fireworks held right on the beach in front of you on Fridays. I will come back and book this condo again. Everything was clean, Kat and Hans were super to work with and things couldn't have gone smoother. Room 1540 was decorated very nice, was clean, & had a spectacular view of the lagoon and ocean. We got a great deal on the room. The Ilikai is very affordable compared to "resort" type places. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, & a cooler in the room for us to use. Full kitchen which is great if you want to be able to cook while you are staying there. There were plenty of elevators, no we never got stuck waiting to long to get to our room. If you walk down the ramp at the rear of the hotel, it only takes you right to the lagoon & then you are only steps away from the ocean. The lagoon is perfect if you want to lounge on an airmattress or have small kids since the water is calm. This part of Waikiki has a much larger beach than other parts. There is a fireworks show every Friday evening. They are let off from the beach between the lagoon and ocean. There was a Mc Donalds & ABC Superette right across the street from the front of the hotel. There are so many shops & restaurants in this area to pick from. We had dinner at Sarento's at the top of the Ilikai & the food & service were superb. It was only a few blocks to walk to the alamoana Shopping Center that had every kind of store you could think of. We rented a car from Thrifty which was a couple blocks away (was much cheaper than the rental car companies across the street from the hotel) on Easter & drove around the island. We went to the Bydo-In Temple which is beautiful & to the North Shore. I would definately recommend this room and hotel to someone coming to Oahu that wants a nice place to stay without all the cost of staying in a fancy resort. ”

We really liked having a kitchenette in the room since we had a 2 year old and a newborn, and eating breakfasts and lunch in the condo was much easier than eating out each day. We parked at the Marina Parking garage across the street...which was a little inconvenient but not too bad ($20 or so per day). It was about a 10 minute walk to get down to the beach which was really cool. About the only draw back was the fact that we overlooked the Hilton's lagoon pool, with waterslides and such, and I was extremely jealous because the Ilikai's pool was pretty basic. Other than that, it was a nice stay and a good deal. ”

You can even watch the Hilton Luau from the balcony (Hilton is almost next door). Closet was "divided" so difficult to hang dresses and tall-man's pants, and not much of a place for suitcases. Most of ground floor shops were vacant -- Ilikai may be in bankruptcy proceedings (in the late-May news), so we're a bit nervous about arriving to find everything closed and locked up tight. Managers were very accommodating of our many questions and when we wanted to extend for an extra day. ”

The communication with Aloha Condos was excellent and professional-what you see online is really what you get and more. We had everything we needed and the condo was equipped perfectly. We went to the Foodland in the Ala Moana shopping center on our first day for breakfast supplies and snacks- the kitchen had everthing and their was even a cooler in the condo for our adventures!We took advantage of the beach chairs and sand toys that were there as well. Everyone was very nice at the Ilikai especially the valet parkers- *hint* you can deal with them on parking. My husband got them to agree to $18 a day instead of $25. It was well worth it- we never had to wait over 2-3 minutes for our car and they always asked if we needed directions etc. Our beds were comfortable, the water pressure was excellent and we really felt like it was our home for the week. The last thing we did was stand on the lanai and enjoy that view as a family and my 15 year old son said, "Thanks for the best vacation ever" Thank you Aloha Condos, we will visit again and recommend you to all or friends. ”

The outside of the building isn't very attractive and could use some updating. One pool was under renovation but we found chairs easily enough at the other pool. You can walk to the beach but it is a little rocky at the end we were at..so you had to walk a bit further down the beach for nicer sand...but considering the price we paid for the rental - we were very pleased that we were able to be on Waikiki beach at all! We walked to most everything. Transit is easy to figure out and we took it a few times including to Pearl Harbour. We took a few bus tours as well and were picked up right at the building. Parking is an issue in Waikiki so it was nice to get around without renting a car. We went to the Big Island the second week and Needed a car to get anywhere! My only complaint is the elevators were slow and not all working. I would stay there again in a minute. ”

The morning view was fantastic and the beach was a mere few minute walk away. An easy walk to the mall, plenty of places nearby to eat (Red Lobster, Kobe Steak House, and Buffalo Wild-wings were my favorites). The only thing that could have made it better would be to convert the room across the hall to an observation room so you could view the sunset! Excellent view of the fireworks across the lagoon on Friday night! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone who is considering it! ”

Ample storage. Kitchen well equipped. Great to have use of wireless internet and free local calls. We were treated to a hula show on the roof of the hotel next door almost everynight as well which was great! The only challenge for us was that our children are young and easily woken so once they were in bed we needed to be very quiet and minimise the lighting as there was only a thin sliding door between the bedroom and the rest of the apartment. The apartment isn't newly renovated but this doesn't matter. It is light and bright and has everything you need. Nice view of the water off to the right. A great way to wake up each day! Great to have the kitchen facilities particularly with children. Our preferred grocery shop was The Pantry about 10 mins walk away. Fresh food and salads and some brands from home. We also tried Foodland (a small Woolies or IGa in Oz) but didn't think it was as good. Don Quiyote is also meant to be great but we didn't manage to get there. We would stay in the apartment again if it was the two of us. A great affordable option with all the added features you don't get in a hotel room. Lastly the owners were lovely and great to deal with - they responded to questions very quickly and provided lots of good advice. Thank you Sue and Terry for a great holiday! We loved it. ”

Since check out time is 11:00am and check in is 3:00pm. our housekeepers only have 4 hours to get the room ready for the next guest when we have back to back reservations. If we need the carpets cleaned we need to have the room vacant so that we can get the carpet cleaners in. There were 3 back to back rentals in a row before your arrival and three after you. We will be having the carpets cleaned again as soon as we can do it without disturbing our guests. The items in the closet are for the convenience and use of our guests. They are not our personal gear.

“ Ilikai Condo 1530 was the perfect "home away from home." The convenient location, complete beach supplies, and comfortable setup made every day a delightful experience. The balcony with it's view of the water, sunsets, Fri night fireworks, and even the hula shows next door were the icing on the cake. With aBC stores close in both directions and a grocery store within a few blocks, all necessities were easily handled. I'd recommend the bus pass (available at the aBC store) for ease of transit around Honolulu without needing to pay extra for parking. The keyless entry and check-in/out procedures could not have been easier, and the pre-trip contact with the owners thoughtful. I absolutely plan to return again! ”

It has a fabulous view of the lagoon and ocean, is right next door to the beautiful Hilton Village, is across the street from 3 well-known restaurants, is 2 blocks from the biggest outdoor shopping mall, and 3 blocks from a large movie theater, and bus service is right in front of the hotel. The condo is clean, has a nice, well equipped kitchen, 4 bar stools, couch, chair, and flat-screen TV. The screen between the bedroom and living area is very nice and convenient. It has all the necessities of home. It was nice and easy to have a "code" for the door rather than having to use a card all the time. The only negative thing I could say was that maybe the TV could have had more channels than the basic ones, but we are used to 200 at home! The Ilikai is also a bus ride away from downtown Wakiki where there are great restaurants, hotels, great shops, and an international market. What a WONDERFUL place this is to forget your troubles and enjoy life to the fullest! ”

The location is great and you can walk in either direction out the front door and find reasonable food, entertainment, and necessities. I would recommend that you find a trolley schedule/guide upon arrival as they pass by the hotel every 10 minutes and can make getting to other locations much more fun and interesting as well as allowing for a unique tour experience! Pack your sunscreen and expect the rest to be handled in 1530! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!! ”

Although there is an assortment of beachchair type things, they are all heavy and bulky enough to discourage anyone from taking them to the beach a second time. We ate breakfast every morning on the lanai...great weather and view to start the morning off right! The check in was easy because there wasn't any! We did not have to wait in line or deal with the front desk. We went directly to the room unpacked our bags and went directly to the beach. They also have a little general store where you could get packets of condiments (ketchup, mustard, jelly, etc.) if you don't want to buy those things at the grocery store. I would recommend this condo to any and everyone looking for a great value, great location, and great view. The only thing I can slightly complain about was that parking was $25 a day. We had to pay upfront because we were not a hotel guest. I was not expecting that at well. Nonetheless, I got over it quickly when we got up to the room and realized I was on vacation in paradise! ”

Kitchen had all the conveniences except we could not get the coffee maker to work and there was no manual available. Wifi connection worked great. Bed was comfortable but seemed smaller than a queen and the sheets did not fit the bed well; either two flat sheets or the other set was not the right size. Loved the convenience of keyless entry. There was no access to the cleaning supplies and we stayed there for 13 nights with no ability to clean the floors or bathroom, that was a bit frustrating for us. Overall, our stay was very comfortable and convenient to surrounding restaurants and attractions. ”

“ My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Ilikai 2021. This studio condo was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was fully equipped with every sort of utensil you will ever need. The bathroom was also very nice and clean with everything we needed, bath and beach towels, hairdryers (yes, 2) and even a curling iron. We had homemade breakfast on the lanai every morning overlooking the city with the mountains in the background. The city view may not have been as pretty as an ocean view, but for the money we saved on the view, we had a couple of nice dinners by the beach. The building itself is in a great location, at the end of the Waikiki strip, away from the crowds, yet a short walk away from all the excitement. The beach and the swimming pool are right out the back door. There is a very nice, yet pricy little supermarket a short walk away, where you can purchase groceries for cooking meals in the condo or making sandwiches for the beach. We highly recommend this place for couples who don't want to settle for a mediocre hotel room. This is a really nice little condo in a well maintained high-end hotel building, a great value for your money. ”

It was actually interesting watching the pedestrian and city traffic below. The view while not a beach view was quite extensive over the city and the patio certainly offered a nice opportunity to kick back with a beer and relax. It had everything you needed and I highly recommend it. ”

I enjoyed having the kitchen especially for breakfast. The room could use some updates (blinds/curtains worn) and the bathroom needed a vent. The only real problem we had is one late afternoon out keys didn't work. I called Aloha Mangement and they were extremely helpful and sent security to let us in the room. Unfortunately, security was not helpful. He told me I had to go to the security office to get the key reset. He gave very vague instructions how to find the security office and left. It was at the back of part of the parking garage - and involved going down multiple hallways that were not marked. I would have been very uncomfortable walking in that area if it would have been night. Since it is difficult to find I would have preferred if security would have escorted me to the correct location. ”

Within walking distance there is a nearby mall with an enormous grocery, tons of shopping, restaurants - and most importantly the beach. It's easy to access from the airport with the shuttle bus (and it was the first drop off, last pick up, so we didn't spend much time commuting). When we arrived there were notes from the Aloha Condos, along with a tote bag (great for groceries and souvenirs!), and travel pamphlets about what was going on. The apartment itself was perfect and really felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. Not only that, it was outfitted with a great kitchen area, so we could purchase food and beverages rather than eating every meal out. Laundry was right down the hall and the TV and internet were simple luxuries we appreciated. Since we have returned from our trip we have told many friends about the apartment and will undoubtedly look for this or a similar property when we return back to Hawaii. Thank you for making Hawaii even more attractive for those traveling on a budget! ”

Instructions on how to get to and into your condo are mailed to you when your final payment is made. We also send out a reminder 10 days before arrival to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. In all of our correspondence we have contact information for our reservationist and/or owner, and also our local contact for that condo.
As guests of a private apartment you are not guests of the Hotel.
Aloha Condos offers vacation rentals for our guests and there is no daily touch-up cleaning although it can be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. The cleaning fee pays for the cleaning to be done after you leave to prepare the condo for the next guest. Included in that fee we make sure you have plenty of bedding, towels, and paper products (paper towels, toiler paper). We also have soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. ”

Suite 2021 had a huge king size bed and a lanai overlooking downtown, which was cheaper than overlooking the beach but with massive construction at the hotel next door combined with the cars on Ala Moana Blvd we found it to be quite noisy. The room itself was clean and well stocked, with beach towels and a few beach toys and a good kitchen with everything you'd need to cook up some meals. It is a short walk to the Ala Moana shopping centre with a great food court and of course lots of shopping. Walking out the rear of the hotel you first come to a wonderful lagoon with calm waters and a nice clean beach. From there you are on Waikiki beach and have access to all the surfing and shopping within a few minutes walk. I would definately recommend a stay at this hotel! ”

Pictured are oversized wicker chairs with cushioned pillows that look comfortable. They have been replaced with metal/glass/hard-mesh chairs. Disappointing, as we spent almost every morning and evening out on the patio at least an hour. The beds are very comfortable. And the Duvets are really thick, heavy and hot! We had plenty of sheets/blankets and pillows for the 2 of us. The room is very cold. Even when you change the temperature, it doesn't change. The patio doors are connected to the air conditioner. If you open the patio doors longer than x amount of minutes, it shuts off the air conditioner. When you close the patio doors, it's supposed to turn the air-conditioner on again. It didn't turn back on for us. The first night we found out the hard way -- a horrible hot restless sleep, wondering why it was so hot in the condo. The next morning, we phoned the onsite manager and they had to call an "Engineer". The Engineer came in, took the remote, and clicked it on. Fixed. The remote has written on it "do not change" or something like that. Had we known that, we could have just done it ourselves, rather than have a horrible restless hot sleep. For a condo that's been recently remodeled in only the past couple years, it's already showing alot of wear and tear from previous guests -- stains, scuffs, discolorations on the walls, furniture, chairs and carpet throughout. Even though the place is "clean", it doesn't look clean because of all the stains, especially in the kitchen. It's too bad the suite doesn't have tile or hardwood floors. The carpet noticeably retains alot of dust, you'll notice it on the darker furniture. For people who like really clean places, I would probably not recommend this unit. For families, it would be great. ”

The beds are very comfortable, the big TV is great and the aC proved very useful although we did not leave it on during the nights, it was not too hot. The building's pool is not really kids friendly so our 4 year old could not reach the bottom anywhere. The pool lady is a very interesting character but rude, she told us that inflatables are not allowed despite the rules posted on the wall which clearly indicated that inflatables that are not dangerous for other people are OK. My husband talked to the manager who allowed us a small floating ring. This was a very small incident really not important in the overall picture, I am just warning other parents with small kids out there. Overall our staying in unit 1927 was a very pleasant one and I am sure we will stay there again. ”

I would have preferred a bit more storage space (a dresser?) and hooks in the bathroom but for the 3 nights, storage wasn't a problem. I kept the clothes in the suitcases. It might be more of an issue if there were more than 2 people staying in the unit. The view was amazing. We much prefer this location over the busy/noisy Waikiki area. We stayed at a hotel "in the action" the week prior but much preferred the condo. location - enjoyed the quiet beach side by the Hilton, loved going for a 15min walk to the restaurants, shops of Waikiki but then coming home to quiet. Parking was a great deal as well! And, thank you for the internet service; it was extremely valuable to us. I have already recommended this condo.to others! Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful space for us to relax in. The lanai was well done and very comfortable. Good amount of space. Hope to be back soon. ”

We watched the sun set and the enjoyed the nightly conk shell ceremony and lighting of the torches. The lights at night, from the mountains and the city were like twinkling candles. From the distance we could see flights coming and going from Honolulu airport. The location of this condo is another inviting feature. Many activities are within walking distance, the bus and trolley are also easily accessed. The beach is right behind the building and is easily accessed by the walkway. We enjoyed our early morning walks down the beach, and again at night to select a different beach front restaurant. The owner of this condo was excellent to work with. We hope to return one day! Prior to arrival we were very nervous of what the rental would be like. We did not know what to expect. When we arrived, the condo was exceptionally clean and larger than expected. The furnishings were all new and the kitchen was supplied with all we needed. It was nicely remodeled and equivalent to a four star hotel room. The view was absolutely gorgeous. We were just mesmerized by the view. The convenience of the keyless lock was terrific. The location was good, next to the Hilton and the lagoon. We parked behind the hotel at the marina with in and out privileges and saved $15 a day. The only down side of staying in a condo vs. a hotel is it doesn?t have maid service. You do not receive a fresh set of towels everyday nor does someone come to vacuum or clean up. And that?s the last thing you want to do on vacation is clean up everyday. But for the price of the condo rental we had to compromise. There is no way we could have found a four star hotel room with a fully stocked kitchen and a beautiful view for the price. We definitely recommend this condo and would stay there again. ”

The hotel is still fantastic, wonderful view of the harbor and the ocean, great sunsets from the lanai. Perfect location for condo, and a very quiet floor, unit is pretty sound proof, can not hear other tenants through the walls or ceiling. Supplies are plentiful in the unit, coffee filters, laundry detergent, linens, beach towels, beach chairs and a great little kitchen with whatever cooking utensils and appliances you may need. No need to bring your hairdryer, their's is just fine. Also a bill changer by front desk for washer and dryer located a few units from 1304. See the concierge early in your stay,to book activities so you will not be disappointed. Have breakfast at the Wailana coffee shop, pancakes are terrific with coconut syrup-did Ihop once and back to Wailana. Also Shorebird in the Outrigger is great for breakfast as they look right over the beach and have a great breakfast buffet, check for the coupons in "This week Oahu".This unit is best enjoyed with 1 couple, it would be quite crowded with more than 2 people. There is a sofa bed, but very close quarters concerning privacy issues if more than 2 people. On the lanai there are aluminum sliding sun shades, use them in the afternoon to shade the lanai, works great in the cooling of the lanai. The hotel bar and grill is good to. Short walk to the mall, easy walk to Waikiki hotels and shopping. Hilton Lagoon area has a great beach with a great view of Diamond Head. Find a tour to the north Shore, much to see there and check out the Byodo-in Temple, it is a scale replica of a 900 y/o temple in Japan. If snorkeling, try Ocean Joy Cruises, great catamaran and if you don't see dolphins (guaranteed) you can go for another cruise-book early in your stay, so you will have opportunity to go again,(free) sometimes the dolphins are sleeping! View Hilton fireworks on Friday evening from Ilikai courtyard. ”

We saw it all...surfers, joggers, boats...sunsets and the ceremonial conch blowing for the torch lighting every evening. The condo was clean and spacious and it's obvious that the owners take great pride in the care, decor, supplies and up-keep of their condo. The transportation available right outside was great with trolley, bus and cab service always available. The hotel was great...the pool, the store,the grill restaurant...loved this unit and will stay here again. Diamond Head background photo opportunity around the corner on the beach and home of Hawaii 5-0 opening film shot --Loved it all and was blessed to have our young adult kids come and enjoy this memory of a lifetime before going back to college and starting a new job. It had a nice condo-like feel with a good view on the 13th floor of the marina and beautiful sunsets, although no beach view really. The location was great for exploring Waikiki which we drove to a few times and also walked to a few times since it didn't take too long. Could walk to a good beach directly via hotel beach access, but we ended up using some of the other beaches anyway. Minor issue I had was parking which is not included, I would recommend parking at the marina which was something like $15 every 24 hrs. I would say if you want an affordable stay near the main strip of Waikiki, then I recommend this place! ”

The Toilet paper was cheap. I also thought 2 towels each for a 1 week stay was skimpy, especially for a beach location. Also it is right next to the elevator. The floor was quiet when we were there, but this could be a distraction during a busier time. The bed is a Murphy. Wasn't the best, but not bad. One more strange thing; the silverware was so small, looked like s child's set; tiny spoons and forks. These are all very small things and did not deter our stay. Ala Moana Park is wonderful and a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed having the beach chairs, small cooler and beach towels. If you have a car, there is a parking lot that is $6. for 10 hours. Fantastic accomodation in the heart of Waikiki

“ My husband, our god daughter (19) and I have just returned from our 3rd visit to Honolulu and we stayed in room 828. It was the best accomodation we have had so far. It was large for 3 adults to stay for 2 weeks, the room is centrally located to washing facilities and lifts. The view of the lagoon and beach was fantastic and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the lanai. We even had sneak peaks of the Hilton's luau each night. The room is well appointed with kitchen items, coffee maker, large fridge and cooktops. There were even cooler bags and beach mats and chairs. Other friends of ours were also staying at the condos and our room was the brightest and most homely of all. The actual building is so convenient to the trolley bus stop, Wailana coffee lounge and in very close walking distance to ala Moana shopping Centre and car rental. We cant wait to get back to room 828 and would highly recommend it to all. ”

Beautiful view facing East, so we got the morning sun and the view of the imposing Hilton tower right out our window. There was 3 of us, and I got the futon to sleep on. Both mattresses left us desiring a little more comfort. The futon mattress is pretty hard/stiff/firm. The first night we also had to get used to the indoor air conditioning and heat from outside. We found by closing the patio door, that it got too cold. The only provided blanket for the futon was this very wafer-thin synthetic microfiber sheet/blanket that didn't provide any warmth. My sister, who always complains that it's too hot, actually complained that it was too cold as well. So the next night, we opened the patio doors about 1-2 feet, so we got the air-conditioning, along with the hot, warm humid air from outside. It seemed to work. The internet access via wi-fi was a pleasant surprise, as most hotels will say they have wifi access, then charge you an outrageous fee per day. My sister had her ipod, and it was fantastic being able to search restaurants and things on the internet while staying here. Although we mainly visited restaurants for eating out including Dukes and restaurants in the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door, the kitchen was well used. We stored drinks in the fridge, and used the microwave for heating up food. My sister even made omelettes one morning with a drink using the blender. There was no bath, just a shower, but it is a nice shower. My only critique would be that the shower head shoots out the water powerfully like little spikes, and there is no way to adjust it. Getting the TV to work, and to simply change the channel was very confusing. There are 3 remotes. My sister and I had alot of trouble getting them to work. It was only by fluke we got it working in time to watch the Royal Wedding. ”

The beach gear was also a plus. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and lagoon and is very close to shops, and there are plenty of great eating options nearby. There's a lot of different parking options but we went with the hotel valet which was kind of steep, but well worth every penny...very convenient at the end of a long evening or adventure filled day. My only suggestion would be to have another mirror somewhere outside of the bathroom. We were there for a friend's wedding so getting ready with 1 mirror was tough, but the bathroom is very roomy so it worked out well anyway. We had some friends over 1 evening and they were impressed with the condo too. Communication with the owner was easy and she made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely stay there again! ”

The Ilikai is a great location, not right in the noise of Waikiki central but close enough to walk, catch The Bus or a cab and be there in minutes. The condo has a gorgeous view of the Hilton lagoon and the ocean, It is only a very short walk to the beach and all it has to offer. The condo was nicely appointed,decorated and well equipped. The Ilikai is currently undergoing significant renovation to it's main pool and one condo block, this is well screened off and most of the courtyard is still accessible , lit up, gardens well kept. The Friday night activities and BBQ that precede the fireworks is well worth a look. We would definitely rent this condo again. Cheers ”

“ This is a wonderful, recently, remodeled condo. The new hardwood floors feel so good to walk on with bare feet and the old wallpaper has been removed throughout. The walls are freshly painted with a very nice, cool beige. The condo is immaculate and the marina view is spectacular. The entry instructions are easy and with the automatic lock on the door, you don't have to worry about losing any keys while at the beach. By the way, the beach is literally just a few minutes walk and you don't even have to cross the street. The Ilikai building itself is on the same side of the ocean, which is a big plus. The Ilikai Bar & Grill is a great place to grab breakfast or lunch on the way to the beach at a reasonable price. There is also a local coffee shop that recently opened on the lobby floor and the restaurant, Sarento's on top of the Ilikai is a great dinner place with an expansive view of Waikiki, Diamond Head and Honolulu. On Friday nights, the outdoor lobby/lanai has Hawaiian music and a hula show for the guest's entertainment. There is even a fireworks show that shoots off from the lagoon. Everyone was friendly and the property manager answered any questions I had promptly. Best of all is the stunning sunset view from the 833 lanai. For the location, price, view and condition, this condo is a 5 star gem! ”

“ My family stayed in this condo for 25 days this summer. It had a beautiful harbor view and from its lanai we could see hula show every fridays. On the Independance Day, we could see fabulous fireworks on our lanai whitout waiting outside for a long time. The building was very secure and we could use free wifi in our room. Just the construction noise from next building for the new swimming pools annoyed us when we stayed in the condo during the day, but it was almost finished when we had to leave. The location of the condo was also excellent. We could walk to the ala moana shopping center for shopping or our meals. Just across the street, there was Mcdonald and aBC store and also many nice restaurants. The rent-a- car office was across the street, taxis were always waiting in front of the building and the tour buses also came there for pick-up. We also stayed in Hilton Hawaiian Village for two nights and also liked the place, but Ilikai was a good value. ”

The unit are #1,very nice and clean. The person at the Ilikai are very friendly and helpfull. Totaly recommend it and it's sure I'll choose aloha Condos when i'll comeback to hawaii. ”

Everything you could possibly need is provided (I was very pleasantly surprised to note the curling iron!). The unit is immaculate, the bed is comfortable, and I enjoyed the different little decorating touches. I prefer the Ilikai location because it's not right on Kalakaua, which makes it easier to avoid bad traffic; on the other hand, you're within walking distance of not only the "touristy" part of Waikiki but also ala Moana Shopping Center. Great facility, and 1904 is a great unit which I have no hesitation in recommending unreservedly. ”

“ It was lovely to come in to the clean and tastefullly decorated unit. It was quiet and peaceful at all times. The large windows opened out to a gorgeous view and the curtains over them kept out the early morning light when we wanted to sleep in. The kids of course loved the great new flat screen tv. It was very spacious even with the couch pulled out into a bed. We used the fully stocked kitchen for making scrumptious breakfasts and snacks. We did walk to the many restaurants for lunch and dinner. It was great to walk either by the beach or by ala Moana Blvd to get to any of the eateries we felt like. The mall was really close too with a great food court and grocery store - food land. The coffee place at Illakai was great and so was the Kona Bean right across the road. The bar downstairs was perfectly situated with a view of the ocean. The stores downstairs were useful when we needed something in a hurry. Of course the many aBC stores were ubiquitous. We always saw people cleaning the walkways. We relaxed by the pool some times which had clean towels and shower. We could order drinks and food from the bar to have by the poolside. Friday evening if you were tired to walk to a restaurant, you could enjoy the hula, music and fireworks (on the lagoon) downstairs. Our favorite time was sipping wine as we watched the sunset from the lanai. The view from the bed and lanai was breathtaking. Most mornings we ate our papaya and pineapple on the lanai watching the early surfers take the waves. Most mornings we had time to go for a jog along the park which we could see from the lanai. ”

We found everything we needed, including both wired and wireless internet. Best for only two persons, or a couple with a child since there is no privacy partition. “ The overall condo was very nice. Some suggestions: the bedspread could be replaced and also maybe some new covers for the chairs/couch. Toilet seat is very loose and the back of the bathroom door was filthy. Most important the air conditioner unit filter needs to be replaced in and out of the condo. ”

“ Thanks for your comments. All of our units have professionals maintaining the units. An appliance technician maintains the air conditioner on a scheduled basis. The cleanings are done by a professional housekeeping company. We then follow up with an inspection of the unit's cleanliness, general condition and function.
We maintain a Local Contact whose phone number is in the condo instructions which are sent to each guest. The number is also posted in the room. If a problem or question arises during a stay, a phone call will begin the correction.
We strive to provide an immaculate and perfectly functioning unit at every check in. We provide a remedy for problems that may arise. If ever we do miss anything, we encourage a call for these situations as well as general questions a guest may have about their stay.

“ This condo was really well sited for our purposes. It was close enough to the Kalakaua strip to be convenient for visiting the hotels, shops, etc. that are the center of Waikiki, but also convenient to ala Moana State Park and the Mall, both of which we like to visit. It was also close to the marathon start. The westward looking lanai was great for sunset watching, and the condo facilities were good. We were able to cook our own meals if we wanted, and the bed and bathroom were first class. My only criticism is that, while the broadband router was effective, and I could freely access the Internet using the Ethernet cable to connect my laptop, I could not get any access using the wireless access feature. My laptop would connect to the wireless access point, but all traffic appeared to be blocked. This appears to be a configuration issue with the WaP. ”

Extended reunion vacation

“ We had a family reunion and had stayed at the Ilikai with family for the first week and a half of the vacation. After all the kids and their families went back to their homes it was time for the parents to rest and enjoy themselves. We decided to book a stay at unit 1904 for one more week just for ourselves. The unit, for a couple, was wonderful with all the accommodations and modern amenities needed, very clean and neat. We especially appreciated the air conditioning unit as it seemed state of the art, very quiet, almost a whisper of sound. The view of the harbor, ocean and direct sunset was just wonderfully perfect for the two of us. This was a perfect couples hideaway. If there was anything that could be improved, but only because of my preference, would be the king bed, it was firm and I prefer something a bit softer a little more cushion. Besides that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at unit 1904 and would look to return and recommend this unit as a couples getaway hideaway. ”

“ I was in Honolulu on business and the Ilikai, room 1904 fit my needs very well. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I liked the full kitchen which was very well equipped. The views were superb, particularly the sunsets. The Ilikai is well located at the West end of Waikiki beach and also near shopping at ala Moana. It's also only a few blocks from 24 Hour Fitness which was handy for me. In addition to having a productive week at work I enjoyed a little beach time on the weekend! Good times. ”
