From the moment we opened the door to condo 1938 we were thrilled. This a beautifully appointed unit with thoughtful touches to make one feel right at home.It has the feel of a lovely hotel room ,yet with a relaxing, at home feel. We liked that there is plenty of storage for our luggage and bits and pieces, a comfy lounge and functional kitchen. The view is spectacular,we spent many lazy hours relaxing on the lanai enjoying both city and beach views, with a beer and a cocktail or two of course! I was able to watch my husband surf and my grandkids play in the lagoon from the lanai. The bed is very comfortable with lovely fresh linens. It was lovely to lay in bed at night and see the city lights ,a shame to sleep really! We appreciated the beach gear, the airconditioner worked really well and having a pin code on the door, with no key to worry about, was great too. We walked to ala Moana shopping centre,to Waikiki Beach and also used the trolleys ($2) for our ventures into Waikiki. Our only regret was having to close the door for the last time! We cant wait to return to Hawaii and when we do we would love to stay in this beautiful condo.

We really enjoyed our stay-beautiful views of the lagoon and ocean and awesome views for the Hiltons Fireworks on Fridays-we got some bonus ones from events going on next door.It is so nice to have a kitchen when you are in Waikiki-Foodland at the ala Moana Mall is an 8 minute walk but there is a small market in the lobby and an aBC close by. We also loved the Ilikai Bar and Grill and Harbor Pub which had great pizza just a short walk away. After staying on the other side of Waikiki for many visits we have found our new home at the Ilikai!!

Wish we could have stayed forever! The unit was absolutely perfect for me and my parents. The view from the lanai was to die for! We spent every spare minute enjoying views and wonderful breezes. Both the king size bed and the sofa bed were very comfortable. The kitchen and bath were well stocked with the basics for our stay. There's a very nice shop that sells food, drinks and other necessities in the lobby. As a side note, the Ilikai Bar and Grill downstairs had great food and drinks and the cost was reasonable. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and I would stay in this unit again. Kat is marvelous!

The location of this hotel is wonderful to explore Waikiki by foot or public transport, and yet enjoy a more quiet evening away from the busy downtown area. You can even watch the rooftop luau most evenings at the Hilton next door (binoculars needed) and Friday night fireworks from the balcony or a short walk to the lagoon. The unit's king bed was very comfortable and living area cozy but comfortable as well. The kitchen had all we needed and dining on the balcony was very relaxing. Working with Kat at aloha Condos left nothing to worry about, all details were explained fully. We ate at the casual Ilikai Bar and Grill for two dinners due to convenience and bargain pricing and no regrets. Several other good eating spots are within easy walking distance. If we return to Waikiki we would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a wonderful time staying in Ilikai Condo 1938. We arrived and were surprised by how many water toys there were available on the deck. The condo was big enough for us and our two girls. The view from the balcony was amazing. We saw surfers every morning and a luau dinner on the rooftop of the adjacent building every night. There was an aBC store right across from the Ilikai to get groceries along with a decent store in the hotel. There were also some inexpensive places to eat nearby that we found. There was also a laundry mat with two washers and two dryers on our floor. The cost per load to wash was $2.50 and to dry was $2.50. This was a bit steep I thought but it was nice to have this option. The parking cost, which I believe is the same everywhere in Hawaii, was $28 per day for valet parking at the Ilikai. I think we could have parked at the marina behind the Ilikai for less but since we had a rental car we wanted the security of the valet parking under the hotel. The only thing I would change about this condo would be the fact that the pull out couch was very squeaky so we took the mattress off and that helped some but it was very old also and had a lot of lumps and bumps for the girls. We would definitely recommend this condo and it's manager Kat to anyone. Kat helped us right away with any email questions I had for her and we absolutely loved the location. It was beautiful and nice and quiet every night.

From the website booking, confirmation of same, information re check in etc, updates of secure payments to the follow up after our stay...very professional. The condo was clean, spacious for 2 and could have bedded at least another one on the couch. Everything taken care of e.g.beach chairs, esky etc for the beach, well equipped kitchen.Old but workable. The location was central to all our needs, 15 mins walk to alaMoana shopping centre, 10mins to the Waikiki strip, food places for all price ranges and a quiet location. The view from the balcony took in good sights of Waikiki beach. The central location was what we liked the best.

Everything about this experience was positive...a real plus, from ease of registration & reminder contacts, answered questions, stated amenities, location, (water view & great fireworks Fri at dark...really spectacular) cleanliness, bed comfort (king) helpfulness, loads of storage and hangers...making our 13 day vacation to beautiful Ohau very memorable! Only thing that would have been helpful would have been a little table and chair since my husband has to use his computor daily! Pleasantly surprised by the Ilikai with everyone's friendliness, beauty, convenience, store, washers/dryers end of hallway, lower level bar & Grill with Happy Hour, great Mai Tai's & Sorentos top notch upper level restaurant. Bus & car rental right outside. Senior fare only $1.00, adults 2.50, youth 1.25...and yes # code room entrance was a real plus.

Best best best. Loved it. The view, the space, the decor, it felt so homely. We didn't want to leave! I was so hesitant about making the booking as it was our first time booking a condo instead of staying in a regular hotel, but I'm so glad we did. We actually stayed 4 nights in this room and 4 nights in a different room in the Ilikai over looking the marina, this room was so much better. Better view, more space, it was quieter and cheaper! My recent stay in august 2012 was my first time renting a condo. I normally select full service hotels. In this case, we booked the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach before finding the Ilikai #1938. We moved in the middle of our 1 week vacation. I really enjoyed the Ilikai much more. The condo is perfect for 2 people. I love the lock box option for entry. I wish that I could implement this easy method in my home - no more search for misplaced keys. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and used for breakfast and lunch. I was happy to find plenty of beach toys on the lanai - 2 boogie boards, lots of beach chairs, a beach umbrella, rafts, inner tubes, snorkels and one set of adult fins. I only wish that we could have stayed longer in this condo.

Great Fireworks! They were spectacular from the Lanai. The storage box on the Lanai has everything you need for the beach and more. Ocean & Sky views from the lanai just wounderful. Really enjoyed getting up early 530am having coffee and watching the ocean, very peaceful. Then having breakfast on the lanai was so nice and just being able to cook some meals was a good savings. The kitchen is fully equipped all you need is food. We ate breakfast in almost everyday and did lunch and dinner acouple of times. The hotel has great baggage service and the Valet Parking was great even though it was $21.00 a day. You get great service from the valet guys and girls with unlimited In & Out privileges. Key less door was wounderful no one can loose a key! There was three of us my wife, myself and teenage daughter. Plenty of room. The room is very clean and comes with a basket books about the area, take time to look at these they are very helpful. Can't say enough Condo #1938 is well stocked and has just about everything! Then there is Kat the reservation agent, she is very pleasant and wounderful to deal with. We thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Mahalo!

My parents and I stayed there early June. The condo is very well located with great views and we were really impressed with the little extras that were left (kitchen roll, washing up tabs, sweetners etc). We were also pleased with the allsortment of beach goods, choice of deck chairs, mats for beach, umbrella, air beds and cooler. We had no problem with the shower, we found there was a lever near the top which increased/decreased the water pressure. Plenty or linen and towels were available for our stay. There was also a foam topper for the sofa bed so this was comfortable for me. Would highly recommend this condo and would book again.

Great location. Great view of lagoon, beach, and Hawaiian Hilton's nightly luau and Friday night fireworks display next door. Plenty of closet space for our 3 week stay. Plenty of room for 2 people. Kitchen was small but quite adequate for the amount of cooking we did. Our biggest consern was the lack of room darkening window curtains which impacted our ability to get a full and comfortable night's rest.

My wife and I were on a business/pleasure trip to Waikiki. In the past I have stayed at one of the hotels on Kalakaua. This time I tried something different. We rented one of the condos at the Ilikai. Great choice for us. The location was convenient to everything and was away from the crowds. The beach was close, and the pool was always well maintained and the staff pleasant. The condo has a great view of the ocean and beach and we were also entertained each night by the show at the Hilton across the street. The only addition I would like is a small table and a couple of chairs inside to eat and also a swivel on the TV so you can watch from the bed. I'll be back later this year and will stay again.

We found this condo to be very clean and very comfortable for two people (any more than that it might be a bit cramped). Not the Taj Mahal, but a nice little place with most of the comforts of home and a pretty decent view. A kitchen with stocked cookware worked out well so we didn't have to go out for each meal and it had loads of storage to keep things out of site. It would have been nice though to have had a few extra linens and additional bathsoap provided. Also, the beach towels really need to be replaced as they're getting a tad thin. The only negative was the water pressure -- extremely poor. Otherwise, great place, great value, decent location to beach as long as you want to walk a bit and hotel personnel were very helpful.

The location of the condo is excellent . . not far from the beach . . the condo was very nice, small, but had everything you need . . had a great view of the ocean and the lagoon. If I had anything to complain about, it would have to be that their pillows need to be replaced . . they were pretty flat and not comfortable and most king size beds come with several pillows as opposed to two king size pillows . . us girls like lots of pillows . . the hotels provide 6 regular pillows on a king size bed.

My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at Ilikai Hotel Condo#1938. It was just as promised from the ads. I arrived just after 2:30pm and use the code to enter the unit. The views from the balcony look just like this picture. I took one and posted on my Facebook page. We enjoyed our time here as this was my 3rd time in 2 years at the Ilikai. While it is not directly on the beach, its a short 5 minute walk from the hotel lobby to Ft. DeRussey beach. Which is another 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach. We could have stayed at hotels near or on Waikiki beach, but neither of us desire the crowds both on the beach or on the streets around Waikiki. The Ilikai is one of those wonderful hideaways location that is close to everything but far enough away to be more peaceful. They have a great bar & grill run by Patti, who makes everyone feel welcome and wanted. The pool is heated and has adult only hours in the morning if you wish to do some lap swimming. Buses are plentiful outside if you desire to explore Honolulu. I would suggest the Red, Green or Pink line trolley's. They are a Hop On/Hop Off bus that gives you a great view of Honolulu. Using the Honolulu bus system is easy. We took the #22 bus, just off Kuhio & Ali Moana to Hanauma Bay to snorkle. U don't need any equipment as it can all be rented but there is a $7.50 entrance fee, well worth the price. Last time I snorkled here was in the summer of 74 and it hasn't changed much in my mind. Our only issue's with the #1938 is that the shower has weak water pressure(but very hot water) and the drawers in the kitchen are somewhat sticky and don't pull out well. These are minor issue's but overall we will come back here to rent, which should be next Thanksgiving, 2012 before the world ends, so they say.

The balcony provides an excellent view of the ocean and Hilton lagoon, ideal for watching the Friday fireworks. Beach chairs and a cooler were also provided to make the daily trips to the beach easy. The keyless entry was also a bonus so no worrying about losing keys. I would definately recommend and hope to stay at the Ilikai again.

We stayed in Condo 1938 last week. It was perfect accomodations for our family of 4. We loved the view of the ocean & lagoon, as well as being able to see Hhv's luau show. There were no problems with noise inside the unit . . . never heard anyone thru the neighboring walls or when the lanai doors were shut. Everything was clean, we had plenty of bathroom towels for our 5 night stay, and there were an abundance of hangars & shelves in the closet. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Made a quick trip to Walmart upon our arrival so we could make breakfasts & lunches in the unit. There was a great selection of beach supplies on the lanai, but we never ended up using them. Just nice to know they were there if we needed them. Never used the pool so can't really say much about it other than it looked pretty small. We would definitely recommend this unit to others!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great for families with little kids, because of its proximity to the lagoon. Our 3-year-old son had to share the bed with us, because the pull-out couch was too uncomfortable (and there was really no bedding for it), but other than that, we had no complaints.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. This condo has bedding for both the king size bed and the full size sofa bed. Sofa bed linen is stored in the closet. I am very sorry that you were not able to find it. All of our guests are provided with a Local Contact phone number (posted on the door, in the instructions, and a business card is placed on the table before arrival) who is available to assist with any questions or concerns.

A comfy home for a couple in Waikiki

Barb B from Orange County, CA on 04/22/2013 said:

We are coming back for our honeymoon for sure amy and jarrod
