We arrived on a Friday at 10:30am and it was a pain that we could not leave our bags at Ilakai. But we knew this, so we headed to Ala Moana Shopping Centre where we found Nordstroms provide free bag checking. So we dumped our bags amd wandered around the centre until 3pm.
Every Friday night the Hilton puts on a fireworks show and 1640 is prime seat.
This property is across the road from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It's a bit far from the main drag of Waikiki but still a nice walk. I liked the location because it was also an easy walk to Ala Moana and you had anything you really needed right there.
Would definitely stay here again.
Great place, location and price!

We love staying at the Ilikai. This was our third visit. It is perfectly located on the edge of Waikiki. Hilton Hawaiian Village is next door with many restaurants & bar options (recommend: Tropics & Round Table Pizza) and a fabulous spa (Mandara Spa).
Easy access if renting a car. Easy to walk to Ala Moana Shopping mall. Clean, comfortable...and the view is BEAUTIFUL! Perfect for watching Hilton's weekly fireworks display from the lanai. We loved sitting on the lanai and enjoying breakfast each morning (the kitchen is very nice). The picture you see of the view is correct. So wonderful to see breathtaking view each morning!
We prefer this location over other hotels in Waikiki. The beach is SO crowded and so busy with people.
If renting a car, park in the Ilikai Marina Condominiums garage. It is $17/day instead of valet at Ilikai Hotel for $25/day (plus tips). The Ilikai Marina is not much of a walk (there's an walkway connecting the two properties). We highly recommend renting a car. It's helpful when going to the grocery store and visiting other beaches around the island: Lanikai, Waimea, Shark's Cove, Hanauma Bay, just to name a few favorites.
We will definitely stay again! Or possibly, at the Ilikai Marina Condos. We stayed there during our last visit (rented through Aloha Condos too) and loved it also!
A minor complaint: the room does not have a dresser. We stayed 8 nights and didn't really have a way of organizing our clothes (there's a closet but not everything goes on a hanger). Also, an affordable restaurant like the "old" Canoe's is missing. No poolside bar either. The restaurants are not managed by Aloha Condos. But with so many other places nearby, it still works well.
Enjoy!
Stunning View

The view and location of this place is even more amazing when you arrive- much more beautiful than what the pictures depict. It is perfect and better choice than a hotel in my opion. Only dissatisfaction was a unexplained extra charge after my visit of $25. I have no idea why i was charged the amount so I would really reconsider staying if un expected or unexplained fees occur after the visit. I would consider it perfect but cannot trust a unexpected fee.
Manager response:
The $25 fee was for a lost room Key. As stated in the policies that are agreed to before purchase and sent twice before arrival there is a $25 lost key cost that is charged against your security deposit. When these charges are made a confirmation is emailed to the guest as well to let them know it happened.
This unit is scheduled to have keyless locks installed this fall so no more keys.
Beautiful Condo/ Amazing view!

We were at this beautiful condo for several months and it was absolutely perfect! The view from the lanai was so amazing, with a Friday night fireworks display that was so enjoyable.
It is the perfect place for a vacation, and the location is the best. It is actually away from the extreme hustle and bustle of Waikiki, very near the Ala Moana Shopping Mall, and steps from the beach.
The condo is perfect for a couple, and includes a state of the art kitchen equipped with the essentials. We highly recommend this location, and cannot wait to return. It made our visit to paradise everything we expected and so much more.
close to everything

I stayed in the unit for four days by myself. I didn't rent a car so I walked everywhere and took the free shuttle to Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is a beautiful unit with great views from the balcony. Best of all it is next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village - so I just walked next door for all my dining and shopping and hanging out. In the other direction it is a quick walk to Starbucks and a local grocery store. Very user-friendly - I had a great time!
A piece of paradise

We spent 10 days at the Ilikai condos and is was amazing. Our apartment 1640 was exactly as described, with modern and tasteful furniture and everything you need to be self contained. This is the first time that we have stayed in a condo rental instead of a hotel --and it couldn't have been better. The Ilikai is close to and has amazing views of the lagoon and beach and is only a short 10-15 minute stroll into the centre of Waikiki. It was easy to book and the communication with Rocco was fantastic. The check in procedure was sent to me via email and worked perfectly.
Even though the outside of the Ilikai looks a little old inside is in top condition and this unit was well presented and spotless.
We'd definitely recommend this unit. Having a full kitchen was a real bonus enabling us to cook most of meals and eat them on the fabualous lanai. I would recommend this unit to any couple wanting privacy, comfort and a great location.
