Wonderful stay at Nohonani 403!
We spent our vacation on Maui at the Nohonani, unit #403, from December 15-31 2009. There were 6 of us; my husband and I, and our 4 children, ages 20, 13, 10 and 9 years old. We were hoping for a good sized condo so that we would have some elbow room, and we were not disappointed! We also wanted a decent kitchen, a washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms, (20, 13 and 10 year olds are girls!) and an ocean view. Unit 403 was made for us! Perfect in every way possible! A day after we arrived, while watching sea turtles swimming and whales breaching in the ocean right outside our window, we were scheming up ways to come back again...SOON! (Oh, and if the owners are reading this...CONTACT US IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO SELL!!! We'd buy the condo in a split second!) The condo was spacious, and while it wasn't as clean as a high priced hotel with daily maid service might be, it was clean enough. It felt like home, very cozy and practical! The only negative thing we can think of, and it isn't very negative at all, was the lack of knives! The only regrets we have are not being able to stay FOREVER, and also that we didn't have time to write in the guestbook about what a wonderful stay we had. I highly recommend 403!

Looking out over the ocean in Maui for a week.
It was a very easy place to stay. Everything we needed was there. Central to everything. There were many pleasant suprises. Great for families or individuals. There were too many whales and turtles though, for my liking.

Fantastic.
Nohonani #205 was exactly what we were hoping for. Right on the beach, beautiful views, whale watching from the lanai, and no crowds. The unit was very clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our first day there, we were invited by neighbors to a pupu party. That level of friendliness continued through out our stay. There weren't many families there, but that did not matter to us or our teenagers. Thank you Tip and Angela for sharing your beautiful condo with us.

Enjoy the dinner table overlooking the ocean right from your bal
We had a great time and found the location perfect. We were able to snorkel right from the beach at the condo and walk to stores and to the farmer's market which I always enjoy. The ocean views are wonderful from the living room, the bedroom window and especially while enjoying a great meal on the balcony overlooking the ocean. There are no better table in town if you know how to cook! We could see the sea turtles and the whales from the balcony. It took us a few days to adjust to the ocean sound at night because the ocean is so close.

We visited with elderly Mom and two toddlers (yep, we're nuts!). Perfect setting for all. The on call support person was very responsive to our one need. The owner had alreay made funishings upgrades that were very nice, beds were comfortable etc. The carpet guys were arriving as we left so you will enjoy new flooring in 2010! I'll add this comment for those who will find it an issue: 1) the loft bedrooms are not private, they adjoin via an open vaulted ceiling. So, if you are renting this unit with other couples or want privacy for a romp, forget it. However, if you need to listen for the little ones, or otherwise don't care, this is perfect! Mom stayed down stairs and that area is really like a separate suite. The shoji screens close but I don't think they're sound barriers. Again, the rompers may want other accomdations. 2) My elderly mother can't get in and out of a tub bath/shower combo and that's what you've got here. So, consider this not ADA functional. All that aside, this is one of the best units I've ever stayed in, anywhere, and we travel a lot! Have stayed in timeshares, luxury hotels and private condo's like this. Unless you require the Westin or the like, you'll be pleased with this sweet unit in a perfect location.

Our family was fortunate enough to book 8 nights at Nahonani Condos and Resort Condo 403. It was a beautiful 3 bedroom condo on the fourth and fifth floor, overlooking a gorgeous beach. The bedrooms were large and confortable, the facility was clean and well equipped, and the beach was fabulous. We sat on the patio and watched sea turtles and rays feeding on the reef. We snorkeled right off the condo beach and saw beautiful fish and coral. The kids had a wonderful time swimming in the pool. It was a great week on Maui!

This was our first visit to the condos at Nohonani and we had 7 people total covering 3 generations of my family. So to say the least, I was concerned how the condo would work with all of us. But it was clean and ready to go when we arrived. There was a very nice wrapped gift basket on the table and instructions for everything. We had 3 bedrooms, two full baths and even washer/dryer setup. All worked great. We really enjoyed the view out over the beach and the reefs. We enjoyed watching the turtles swimming around the bedach and reefs at night from our lanai. We could just go down 4 floors to the ground level and boom, on the beach and swimming with the fishes. :) It was in a good location that was close to shopping plus wonderful other beaches and parks. We really had a great time and highly recommend it to other families that want to be close to everything. (One great feature was that the condo was two stories inside the main door. Inside stairs to the main bedroom, 2nd bedroom and w/d. It kept the teenage girls noise downstairs at night. Peaceful and everyone happy).

With just a little bit of TLC, this place could be awesome! It was roomy enough for all 6 of us and had a great view off the lanai of the ocean. The pool was a good size and was kept clean. Sea Turtles were just 10' off the shore every afternoon. Really cool! The place itself could use some new carpet and a bit of updating but the cupboards were stocked with dishes, nice fluffy towels were rolled up on the beds waiting for us along with a very nice gift basket upon our arrival. I may go back again but I may look for another more updated condo for my next visit.

Our experience with Chuck at Aloha Condo's was excellent. He answered all our questions promptly. The condo was nice, open and airy. There was a fantastic breeze blowing through most all day. The location was great, just a short drive to most stores, restaurants and walking distance to the farmers market. The condo was older and we were made aware of that fact, however it required some basic upgrades. WARNING !!! The carpet needs to be replaced desperately !!! Professional cleaning won't even save it. I felt uncomfortable walking around in bare feet. The kitchen smoke alarm went off every time I cooked anything including toast in the toaster. That was loud and annoying. The bathroom fan was very very dirty. The ceiling fan blades were filthy. Positives -- The view, and the sound of the waves crashing at night was extremely relaxing. Watching the sea turtles in front of the condo was awesome. Bottom line, if you can live with some dirt, dust and the thought of god knows what living in the carpet, ...then go for it, but I warn you .. don't spend your $$ until this 20 year old carpet is replaced!! I hope the owner will consider making that improvement at least. If not, then I have to be honest, I would recommend this home solely for the view and beachfront location, This place isn't for someone who is expecting luxury accommodations.

We had the best possible week in our Nohonani condo in Maui. Our unit (#403) was on the top floor and was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2-story condo. As soon as we walked in, we knew this would be a special week for us. Our lanai overlooked the small beach, and we were greeted with a wonderful and thoughtful gift basket containing a tote bag, chocolates, cookies, and assorted snacks. My wife was quite impressed by the near new, high quality towels. I think the most impressive parts of this place was the awesome view of Molokai and Lanai while relaxing with a book and some fresh fruit at our table on the lanai; and the chance to watch huge sea turtles most evenings from our lanai, as they would come within 10 feet of the sand. This time my wife and I came with our 21 & 18 year old daughters, but on our next visit to Maui and the Nohonani #403, we will come alone. Even though we won't need the other 2 bedrooms, it will be well worth it to us to stay at this truly memorable location. My wife and I are ready to go back there tomorrow (if only we could). My deepest thanks go out to everyone at Aloha Condos for making our week in Maui such a wonderful experience.

But would not hesitate to rent this property again. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed at Nohonani 403 for ten days during August 2008 and found out pretty quickly that we had found a fantastic Hawaiian hideaway. We were four adult friends traveling together and found the layout just perfect, especially the two bathrooms. The condo is so centrally located that it was just a short walk to several strip shopping centres where everything you needed was available. Even an ABC shop!!The condo had everything provide to enhance your stay, down to snorkle gear, binoculars to watch the turtles and music CDs to complete the mood. Most importantly, you were right on the beach with uninterrupted views from the balcony and bedrooms. We hardly used the dining room, instead opting for the balcony to take our meals and watch the turtles and sunsets. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. The owners are just great. Friendly and caring, attending to a few small problems we had quickly and professionally. So at no time were we inconvenienced. Even able to recommend to us the best places to visit, when we weren't on the beach or shopping that is. Local knowledge is the best recommendation. We are planning our next trip to Hawaii in 2010 and will definitely be returning to Nohonani 403. Thanks for a terrific and memorable holiday. A little piece of Hawaiian Heaven.

I had my 2nd stay in this unit in 10/08. I LOVE IT! The setting couldnt be better as the unit sits beach side. I fell asleep every night listening to the waves. The outside ammenities are wonderful with beach side pool, plenty of lounge chairs, flowering grounds. Nice BBQ area also, but we did have some small, many legged "visitors" during our evening BBQ that we didnt expect! Be careful using this area at night. Interior is clean and has a ton of room, is well appointed with tables, couch, TV, CD player, DVD, etc. All bedrooms are on the ocean side of the unit. This is an end unit so there is a wonderful breaze on the lanai. View of neighboring islands is fantastic. Unit is dated, however, and needs some serious updating in the bathrooms, flooring, etc. Unit supplied plenty of towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, cooler. I would highly recommend this unit!

We spent an amazing week at the Nohonani Condos and Resort Condo 403. This is the first time that we stayed at this property -- and it was perfect. The beach was amazing and the location was great. Condo was in order when we arrived, it's large size afforded all of our family to stay and the cost per night was affordable. Having a kitchen allowed us to enjoy more family time and less restaurant wait time. Complex had BBQ's on-site so that provided alternatives to being cooped up inside. Also the location of Unit 403 in the complex provided cooling cross breezes throughout the day. We'd definitely recommend this condo! Enjoy.

The kitchen is on the small side, but, when you are on vacation, who is going to spend time in there anyway? The elevator was a bit slow, but it worked, thank goodness. The view from the lanai was beautiful. It was fun to sit there in the early evening and watch the turtles as they came close to shore. The beach in front of the condo is a bit short for strolling, but, there are plenty of beaches near by. We plan to stay here our next trip to Maui, which is soon, I hope!

First trip to Maui and couldn't be happier with our week long stay in this unit. Of the 4 condos we resided in during our trip (December 18-January 6), this was by far the nicest and most comfortable. Booking the condo was easy (used vrbo to search and check availability and virtual tours, videos to view most properties). The owner was very patient and friendly. We checked in Christmas Eve day after a quick flight from Oahu and were blown away. The view of the water and Molokai was terrific. Very peaceful. The elevator and luggage dolly made moving in easy. The unit is very roomy, especially the living room. We have 3 children (11, 9, 7) and we all slept fine. The master bedroom has a great view and its own door to the lanai. Sleeping to the sound of waves is incredible. The high quality ceiling fans and lots of cross-ventilation kept the unit cool. Extras like games for the kids, Maui guidebooks, and the welcome basket were an unexpected pleasant surprise. The area is very nice. Not congested like the nearby resort areas. ABC store is a couple blocks away and a Safeway is a 10 minute drive. We saw turtles right below us from the lanai every morning and whales every day. The owner provides binoculars which made whale watching much easier. Saw some incredible views of the full moon setting over the ocean, however the highlight during our stay was being greeted with a spectacular double rainbow over the ocean in front of Molokai on Christmas morning! Thanks so much for opening your home to us. Our family will always remember this trip.

This was our first experience renting a condo on line. It could not have been easier. The "virtual tour" of unit 305 was exactly as we found it...clean, comfortable and well stocked with all the necessities and many extras. Internet access was a very pleasant surprise. We also appreciated the travel guide and guest book in the unit. They provided tons of local to-do and dining tips. It is a relatively small and intimate complex so it was easy to strike up conversations around the pool, beach or BBQ grills, all the more homey. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that there is only one shower (+ a half bath). When the 4 of us would come in from the beach or a day trip we would have to take turns showering. If you are in no hurry, then this is no problem...just chill on the lanai and enjoy the wonderful view til it's your turn. We would absolutely recommend this unit.

Our family vacation was spent island hopping with Maui being our final destination. We were looking forward to relaxing for the last few days on the ocean and Nohonani #305 was the perfect setting! It was right on the ocean, with a beach and swimming pool and very close to Lahaina and our other planned activities (the Old Lahaina Luau, Ka'anapali Ziplining with Skyline Eco-Adventures, and snorkeling). The condo was well-appointed and obviously well cared-for. The stacked laundry equipment was extremely handy and the kitchen was fully-stocked for all of our needs. Bedding and towels were in great condition as were all of the furniture, appliances and other furnishings. The kids were very pleased to have the extensive TV selections and I LOVED having the high-speed internet connection so I could continue blogging about our wonderful trip. There was no air-conditioning, but when I go to the ocean I WANT to have the windows open in order to enjoy the sounds of the surf! Plus, with the wind from the east coming through the front windows of the condo and the ocean breezes coming in from the back, the ceiling fans in every room did an excellent job of providing circulation and dissipating the heat of the day when it was time to sleep at night. Chuck the rental agent, was great to work with, always responding quickly to questions and helping us make our time there so enjoyable. The owners, the Kelly's, provided a driving map and suggestions for supply shopping well in advance in addition to a welcome gift upon arrival. We are very pleased to highly recommend this condo!

We all enjoyed seeing the sea turtles all the time out front (and swimming w/ them, too!) The location was very centralized and made it very easy to get just about anywhere. Listening to the waves breaking thru the day and night was very relaxing. This was JUST as it was advertised and even better than we expected. We have already recommended it to several friends and hope to return soon for some whale-watching! The only negative was the fact that it is all the way in Hawaii! :) we wish it was closer so we could enjoy it more! Thanks!

This condo has an awesome location and is right on the ocean. The master bedroom is also on the ocean front and you are lured to sleep with the sound of the waves. We like being on the 3rd floor for the vast ocean view. The gass grills right on the ocean make for a beautiful place to cook dinner as the kitchen is way to hot to cook in. If you plan on cooking much, it is not very equipped for that. Only the minimal necessities in the kitchen. Other things that would really upgrade the unit is a better master bed mattress and blinds to block the heat of the afternoon. The blinds on the lanai were not helpful in blocking the sun and heat from warming up the unit to an unbearable temp.

While we were there some weather came in and the surf was perhaps too big to swim but the beach is beautiful. Coral heads abound and it should be great for snorkeling. Many turtles live in the area and feed right out front during high tide. At one point we counted 5 right out in front of the grill area. Would stay again.

I would definitely recommend this particular condo at the Nohonani.

The people at this rental property we wonderful. The owner of the condo was great to work with. They have been updating their condo, but the needs are minor and the could NOT improve the VIEW! The sounds of the crashing waves and the sites of the sunsets were worth every cent. Great experience; as a couple or with children. The private beach and the residents on site make it a wonderful venue to enjoy in any capacity.

We had a wonderful time at the Nohonani Condo's. We fell a sleep each night and a woke to the sounds of the waves. Watching the whales from the lani was incrediable. The ocean view is outstanding. The condo was really comfortable, nicely updated, and it had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed. Seems like a funny thing to comment on, but it was nice! We can not wait to come back.

Condo is as close as one cold possibly get to the beach. Fabulous views. Extremely well equipped (dishes, books, etc). Only downside -- and it's a very minor one -- is that the entrance to the property is a little dreary, and the elevator is extremely slow. Also, we had been able to sign up for Wifi at the place we had previously stayed at (for $40 per weeek), and we did miss that amenity a little.

Just great

We had a great time and found the location perfect. We were able to snorkel right from the beach at the condo and walk to stores and to the farmer's market which I always enjoy. The ocean views are wonderful from the living room, the bedroom window and especially while enjoying a great meal on the balcony overlooking the ocean. There are no better table in town if you know how to cook! We could see the sea turtles and the whales from the balcony. It took us a few days to adjust to the ocean sound at night because the ocean is so close.

We stayed here for one week over Christmas. The Condo was clean and bright with a good-sized lanai to watch the ocean activities. The surf was a tad too loud at times and one wondered if it was just storms at that time of year or, is it always so crashingly loud?? The kitchen was well appointed. The condo's bathroom really needs updating. The hot water tap in the bathtub ran continuously. We mentioned it to the owners and they said it would be repaired but my advice would be to update the entire bathroom. The bedroom and bed, in particular, was great, really lovely. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would return.
Nice little secret

We had a great time. The room was very nice. The kitchen was up to date. Everything worked well. It was nice to be able to use the laundry facilitys in the room. The higher deck chairs allowed us to see more comfortably without tring to see through the rails. The room is alittle loud from the crashing waves on the sea wall, but the whole complexe is like that. It was relaxing after a while. It did get very warm at night. The pool is super and all the available floaties that go along with it. Good snorkeling right out front. Turtles at 2:00 everyday. Also the monk seal that came a couple of days.
Well Pleased

A family of 3 we stayed in Unit 204 Nohonani for 4 nights in early June, basically as a stopover from West Coast USA holiday on our way home to Australia. We were first time visitors to Hawaii. We found everything at 204 to be as described. Ideally suituated right on the beach, to arrive at 8.30 at night, step onto the Balcony and see turtles feeding was great start and it continued that way for our stay. The unit was clean, comfortable, well equipped and welcoming and served us well. We felt very comfortable. We were pleased that we decided to be a bit further up the coast away from the mega hotels and condos. We did not want lots of hotel razamataze, prefering to explore the beauty oif the island (a reason we chose Maui over staying in HNL which would have been easier travel wise ) With a car no where was too far away and we spent most of our time exploring further North up the coast at some wonderful beaches for snorkling. It was an idyllic and thoroughly enjoyable 4 days R & R in a great apartment, after a fairly hectic holiday before returning home to winter! We would happily stay again should we be passing through again....... There has even been talk of "why not just go to Nohonani for a 2 week break next time!?"

We have been to Hawaii many times. This place was the best from the point of view of space, layout, decor, location - and price! It's right on the water, one floor up. You get used to the soothing wave noise quickly. Only draw-back: swimming not too easy because of coral reefs or rocks close to shore.
Fantastic View, Exceptional Value

This was our third trip to Hawaii and since we were only staying in Maui for a few days we wanted to stay in a nice condo that wouldn't cost us a fortune. Nohonani Condos - #204 was exactly what we were hoiping for. Susan was great to deal with, excellent communication, any questions were promptly answered. It's an Oceanfront Condo with a gorgeous view. My wife & I had breakfast every morning out on the lanai. The condo was clean, the kitchen contained all the utensils that we needed, the beautiful bed was very comfortable. Happy that there was no nightly parking fee and when we were there no problem finding a parking spot. The only minor complaint would be that this unit is set back from the condo next door. Overall we were very satisfied.
Great for watching whales!

My wife and I found this little place to be quite comfortable for 2 people and adequately appointed. We enjoyed waking up and having coffee on the lanai while watching the turtles surf in to the shallows and the whales breaching a few 100 yards from shore. We generally stay down Kihei way, but were very glad we tried something new. Only a couple of blocks away there is a great natural food store that has many great things from which to stock your fridge or to get your lunch and then head to the beach. There are some restaurants nearby and a lot of great beach walking. The building grounds were well taken care of and the pool reasonable for cooling off in. The clientel were mellow and a little older. Young families with kids may find it a little boring, but its great for couples of any age. (We left our kids home for this trip!) The unit itself was pretty great. It was really nice to have a bedroom with windows to the ocean, though if you're a light sleeper, being this close to the surf may keep you awake. We had to make sure all the windows were closed. I think its one of the nice features that this unit is literally 30 feet from the water. The unit has a W/D which is really nice, the kitchen is small but has everything you need. The only issue is the bathroom which really needs some updating, nothing gross, just looking tired. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely come back.

We had a couple of criteria for this trip. 1) Accommodation had to be on the beach. So often we compromised in the past and did not want to this time. 2) Had to have a workable kitchen and a decent bed. #204 at Nohohani met this criteria perfectly. Everything was great. Loved watching the sunset from the lanai and hearing the waves at night from the lovely bamboo bed. Wouldn't recommend the unit for large families but for couples or couples with baby, etc it is great. Also appreciated the guidebooks in the room (very handy) and the in room laundry, which allows you to pack light. Only very minor issue is the shower is a bit low for taller people, but no big deal. Our overall Maui experience was great and having a nice place to call home while we were there was a big part of it. Thanks Susan! Steve and Judy
