This is an immaculate and very pleasant accommodation for two.
We love this unit as it is clean, on the beach, is generally a small complex, has attentive owners and is in a beautiful area with no need to travel far. We don't like shops and commercialism so this fits the bill, but grocery stores and convenience stores are very close. Service was extraordingary. The beach is lovely but a bit steep, however, hundreds of children on the beach seemed to have no problems with it. I want to go back ASAP. .

The room was clean. The neighbors were quite. The ocean was loud and wonderful...and the view was amazing. Without a doubt the best room on Napili Bay! We will be back.

Aloha Condos
We rented nr: 208 at the Napili Bay Resort. A really nice view from the lanai, watched whale activity, etc. A comfortable room to stay in. Sea House Resturant just down the beach for a good breakfast. The condo area was quite and this quiteness was respected by all of the guests and owners who were staying there. A short drive to all of the busyness of Lahainia. All in all a great place to spend a week on Maui

Lovely stay!
I had a wonderful stay in Condo 109, it was comfortable and relaxing in a great location right on the beach! I watched whales right from the lanai and snorkelled with a sea turtle right off the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The waves are loud, but it adds to the experience.

A romantic and private Maui experience.
My husband and I absolutely loved our week spent at Napili Bay, unit 218. The studio condo was extremely clean and inviting, and even though it was on the end of the condo complex, it still had a great view of Napili Beach. We loved how we could step out our front door and be lounging on the beach in under a minute! We especially appreciated all the little considerations, like the beach equiptment, mini-cooler, extra fan, etc. Our least favorite part of the condo was the bed - it was not only extremly hard, but seemed to slope oddly away from the center and made for sore backs and necks the following morning. However, the bed aside, we had an absolutely fantastic experience and we will try to return again soon to this private little get-away!

One More Week, Please!
Contrary to what you might think, being 50 yards from the beach is preferred to being right on the beach. Great privacy from your lanai without losing the whole beach affect. You can eat your meals in your boxers if you so desire! The room has everything, including a view, home ammenities, a great bed, a great lounging couch, a nice HD LCD tv on the wall. I wouldn't change a thing. (Especially the price. It is a bargain!)

FANTASTIC!
Napili Bay resort was perfect for us! We were there for Christmas week. The resort is right on the beach. We even witnessed a beach wedding! All of the little extras included with the unit (like shampoo, aloe, beach chairs, and boogie boards) made us feel so warm and welcome! We definitely want to come back!

New Years sunshine

A Peaceful, Quiet, Beautiful Location
Napili is a wonderful little oasis in the western resorts of Maui. Napili Bay Resort, #201 was a great location -- right on one of the best little beaches in the area. You can hear the waves all day and night long. The studio was small, but immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The king-size bed was great -- very comfortable. We did a lot of cooking using the BBQ in the common area -- it was a great way to meet people and they were very nice. Thanks for a great stay!

Best Vacation Ever
The location is perfect. The condo was clean, neat, very nicely done with a newer kitchen and bath. It came with lots of goodies, like boogie boards and beach chairs. We watched the incredible sunsets right in front, on the sand or from the Lanai. We loved it so much, we had to make ourselves go visit the rest of the island. You can eat in or dine just down the beach. Close enough to Lahaina to shop, go to a Luau, or hop on a boat for a variety of activities. Loved it that we could go out and snorkle every day. We saw turtles right in front. Beach even has a little shade, which was especially nice for families or the easily sunburned. It was our best vacation ever.

The Sound of Surfe
Everything was absolutely as promised on the website: we found a well equipped, tastefully furnished and conveniently located beachfront studio apartment on beautiful Napili Bay. A few issues should be considered though: this is a condo without A/C; we had quite a few mosquitos that cohabited the unit and, hence, needed to buy benadryl-cream to deal with the recurrent itch. Also, the lanai is small and does not allow you to stretch out. I don't want to blow this out of proportion but one should be aware of it.

sleeping in the surf
wonderful location very nicely renovated. swam with the turtles every morning and afternoon. two very small quibbles; there is no light on the veranda and access to the front door from the parking lot would be much improved with a path at the corner of the lot through that small patch of grass. we love the whole area and hope to visit again soon. Mahalo!

We had a wonderful time and stayed in a great place
The condo was a great place to stay. Room #211 was equiped with every thing we needed,towels,cooking ware etc. The room has great kitchen and bath areas and was overall beautifully furnished. The view from the patio was wonderfull and we could here the ocean all night. The condo complex was well maintained and as in the past we found the grounds were great with a place to BBQ and a laundry room. We were very happy with the entire experience and a especially the great beach and beach access.

Napili truly paradise!
We stayed at unit 203 for 11 nights and have nothing bad to say. We loved it! The proximity to the beach/water is second to none. The sound of the waves were great to go to sleep to. Beautiful BBQ area. Bed was very comfortable. Unit is well equipped with everything you need. Definitely going back!

The first place was very nice, great decorations, nice kitchen, great up to date bathroom with a very nice shower. If it weren't for the cockroaches I would recommend it. The person in charge of the rentals moved us to an open home and the rest of our time was much nicer. This vacation property was right on the beach and I would stay at this property again just not this room. ”

The property is low-key and right on the best beach in Maui. The water and the sand are beautiful in this spot. There are great restaurants and groceries nearby. It is a quick drive to Lahaina. The sound of the waves will lull you to sleep each night. This particular unit has been beautifully remodeled and is kept up very well, extremely clean, comfortable and practical. You will find everything you need in the kitchen (and the rest of the unit for that matter). This is not a "resort" and if you are looking for a high-end resort experience this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for the true Maui experience, the beach, beautiful views and sunsets, a "real" experience, I promise you that you will not be disappointed. In this unit the beach (public)is literally right outside of the lanai and there will be noise sometimes earlier in the morning than you might like, but remember, there is always time later in the day for a nap!I have burned the beautiful views into my mind to get me through the days at home. As I write this review I wish that I were there on the lanai sipping a cool drink and breathing in the beautiful smells and sounds of this breathtaking place.It is tempting to keep this place a secret, to be sure I can get in the next time the opportunity presents itself, but it would be selfish to hide this gem from anyone who is able to make the trip. “ Our plan was to hang out at the beach,stock the fridge with easy food and drinks and stay in Napili for most of our time. But that did not happen. we wanted to snorkel, read, swim and generally relax. The condo was right on the beach. But the beach access was a little disappointing as we could not access from the lanai. Great beach. great spot. adequete condo. Nice and modern. Did not like the window shutters. Too dark when closed. ( which is why the lights get left on i suspect) And when closed at night did not shut out the noise. Lapping waves is not how I would describe our experience. The noise was deafening. But we did get used to it after the first two nights. Unlucky for us the weather did not co operate one little bit. Just sheer bad luck. We had incredilby high surf, high winds, and very cool weather. we were there for 6 days. Most days it rained. we had been warned that this end of the island has less sun but were not prepared for what we got. Had the weather been good we may have had a different experience. But we had to leave the area and go to Kihei most every day to catch some sun. Unable to enjoy the area due to bad weather. But no one can control the weather so just plain bad luck i suppose. Surf so high dangerous to even attempt to swim. Snorkelling out of the question. So unfortuately it did not work out too well for us. Also a bit too secluded and not much in the way of places to eat. The condo was great. Nice and clean and very well equiped. We thought too many notes and rules and regulations about switching lights off and cleaning the shower stall. after every use!!!. they have sand issues in the condo. And its on the beach!! I did not feel like a paying guest. More like a non paying aquanitance owners appear paranoid about thier granite counter tops. I have granite in my own home so not sure what that was about. Perfect for two adults. Dont bring your kids unless you want to clean all the time. We wont be back. Sorry! ”

This room was a bit "campy" It had a cute hula lamp etc. The unit did have a nice tiny,little kitchenette. But be careful,you can hear everything your neighbors are doing & saying clearly. This unit is compact & not having air conditioning was challenging. Blow drying my hair was not a pleasant experience!!! When we made reservations we requested a "towel trade" mid week because we didn't want to do laundry during a vacation, we were charged extra for this service. We were here for 10 days and then moved to a Hotel for our last week. My husband and I were both happy that we booked a luxury hotel for our last week on Maui. I guess when we are on a tropical escape we do prefer more amenities,services and pampering. ”

The condo was clean and had everything a person could need. The welcome basket was cool and it felt very homey tight away. I was worried about no air conditioning but it was never a problem. This condo is literally right on the water which was super nice but at night the waves are loud. My wife loved that and said it helped her sleep but I had to get used to it. The location is great because its away from all the touristy stuff in Lahaina and minutes from some of the best FREE snorkeling on Maui. The condo is perfect for making dinner with all the pots and pans, etc. The king size bed is comfortable and the condo is clean and styling. They also have a great bbq area for grilling your fresh fish and pineapple. The Napili market is around the corner for any extra needs. Once you visit here, you will not want to stay anywhere else. Best view in Maui, I can say that because we stayed in different locations on Maui before, and never had such an incredible view! The room is 20 seconds from the beach! The apartment was not overly updated but super clean, wonderful bed!!! Huge and comfortable! We slept like babies in it :). Everything was available. There is no air conditioner but it did not bother us too much. If it got warm we would open all the windows and enjoy the breeze and the view. We were 5 minutes away walking from famous Gazebo restaurant, where the locals love to eat too and on the right side walking distance to Seahouse! Incredible food too! Try macadamia, banana and pineapple panecakes in Gazebo! I liked everything. It would offcourse nice to have an air conditioner but again not a must! Incredible experience. A little piece of Paradise! ”

“ My hubby and I are still glowing after a wonderful, relaxing (too short) vacation at Napili Bay Resort. We stayed in #209 and were very content with this corner unit. It was clean and well equipped, and tastefully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular view from the balcony...we even saw a few whales breaching off in the channel! It did get quite hot on the balcony from 2-4pm, but the beach is steps away, the ocean is lovely and we could always find a spot of shade under the big tree to sit and read and relax. The snorkeling on the reef in the bay is decent, and we saw green sea turtles swimming right in the bay. A really excellent snorkeling site is aprox. 10 kms up the road in Honolua Bay, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys snorkeling...we saw incredible corals, turtles, a Moray Eel, and countless beautiful tropical fish...most excellent! Fruits and veggies are pretty expensive on Maui, but there's a little farmers market/grocery store on the left side of the road heading towards Kanapali that had the best prices. Also we found some good fresh reasonably priced fish and meats in the Napili Marketplace store on Napilihau Street, which is a 2 min. drive away from the condo. They also have a good selection of wine, etc. The entrance to this store is a little hard to spot as it's located inside a small strip mall of sorts, and you probably won't see the entrance door unless you get out of your car and check out the store fronts...it's a little to the right of the middle. Anyways, we managed to put 500 miles on our rental car in a week...drove up to the volcano, and took the road to Hana...went to the souvenir market in Kihei, and just generally had a great time! Hope to be back here one day soon, and would highly reommend Napili Bay Resort...the location is fabulous. ”

“ My wife, 4 month old son, and one set of grandparents spent a great week at Napili Bay Resort. Condo 209 was actually just right for all of us. The accomodations were spacious enough. The sunset views were incredible right from the balcony. Picture whales in the distance lit by the setting sun! Really. The cove just outside was filled with turtles and provided some great snorkeling, even for my parents. Though it is a little bit difficult getting in and out of the water for those less fit. A Snorkel Bob's is a 10 minute walk for rental equipment. The proximity to Napili Beach made for a nice easy stroll. There is a local grocery, coffee shop and a Maui Tacos all close by. Lahaina is a 15 minute drive. We are cyclists and rode a round trip heading north from the condo all the way around to near the airport and clockwise to Lahaina. A beautiful ride with good climbs early on. The condo was kept clean, towels exchanged regularly. There were adequate cooking utensils as we prepared most of our meals at the condo. We called ahead and rented baby equipment from a local baby rental business. It was there when we arrived and was picked up after we left...very convenient. Maui is enchanting...Napili Bay Resort made it easy, condo 208 has a beautiful location. ”

Great views, easy access to the beach, room was very comfortable, the little village store in the complex is very nice to have, BBQ grills make for some great nights of casual dinners and close to all that Maui has to offer. There is a little surf noise being down on the end of the beach but after all that is why your stay in a beach front condo isn't it. “ My wife and I stayed at the Napili Bay condos and I am extremely happy with it. If you are undecided about staying at a condo vs a hotel....GO CONDO! You won't have to deal with gift shops, elevators and all that mess. If you are unsure about which beach, Napili Bay was wonderful for adults and kids, but wasn't overcrowded. About the condo itself: I stayed in a second floor unit facing the beach and at night the waves crashed hard on the rocks there on the edge of the bay and this resort appears to take the brunt of the decibels. I had to wear earplugs to sleep. But I would do it again, and stay in the same room again, and wear earplugs again, because the view and the location of the condo was awesome. ”

“ As described on the website, this condo is one of the most popular condos on-site. No doubt why - 2nd story, oceanfront, corner condo with privacy, beautiful views of the beach, Molokai across the way, the turtle activity, and lovely beach, great photo opportunities for the sunsets, not to mention the nearby Gazebo restaurant for lunch and dinner. Besides that, the grounds were immaculate and had all kinds of beautiful flora, and we loved the availability of the gas grills and laundry. We took advantage of grill to do some dinners in, which helped fray the meal expenses. Transportation for island activites, such as the Haleakala sunrise bike trip and the Hana Highway excursion were easily available to us with pick ups at the roadside. All services were nearby, as were additional lovely beaches and blowholes. We would recommend Aloha Condos to everyone and would love to return to condo 209 in the future. I can't say enough wonderful things about Napili Bay - it was truly paradise. ”

“ We absolutely loved our one-week stay at Napili Bay #209. Writing this review makes me want to book a flight back for tomorrow. The condo was clean and bright, and it was perfect for our needs for the week. We loved being able to step out onto the small balcony and enjoy the beautiful view. Chuck, the owner, was great to work with and was very helpful in answering some questions we had as first-time visitors to Hawaii. I would recommend this unit to anyone. The only thing to keep in mind, if anyone in your party is a light sleeper, is that you can't turn off the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. This condo is ON THE BEACH - and it can be loud (and, since it's a public beach, so can the people). Since the windows don't exactly "close," the sound can only be muffled - not completely shut out. It didn't bother me so much, but it did take my husband a couple of nights to get used to it. In NO way do I want to deter anyone from staying here, but if you like to sleep in silence, be prepared - you may want to invest in some earplugs! FYI - my husband was also very concerned that this unit does not have air conditioning, but it was truly not an issue at all. It's very breezy, and hopefully you'll be spending most of your time enjoying the beautiful Hawaii outdoors anyway! ”

“ We stayed about 6 nights on the corner unit facing the bay. It was simple but had all that we needed. We fell asleep to the crashing waves on the bay and were greeted once by a school of dolphins. We relax mostly and swam during the day. We snorkeled with turtles just a few feet around the corner. We would stay there again. The best part was we got to use the beach chairs to gaze at the abundance of stars each night. One night we saw a few shooting stars. ”

“ We love Napili Bay. We found the area through a travel agent and stayed at a local hotel. I recommended the location to a co-worker who found the Napili Bay condo units. We tried them next and are now true repeat fans. We know it, the sea turtles, the sunsets, the view of Molokai, the local coral reefs and even some residents so we feel like it's our little second home when we get to visit. It's not fancy hotel living. It's comfortable, relaxing and friendly for those who are looking to feel more at home and happy to hang out in a studio apartment than be waited on. The bay is beautiful and not too big. Therefore, you never feel crowded in. Condo 209 is perfect for us and the owner is wonderful. He makes certain everything is up to snuff and that you are welcome and appreciated. The grounds manager is always there to help too. The room is tropically decorated and puts you in the island mood quickly. The bed and amenities are very comfortable. There is a television and DVD/VCR if you're so inclined. There are boogie boards and beach chairs to use. We get our food when we arrive, cook in the evenings and have no pressure to leave the bay unless we want to. Breakfast on the lania watching the clouds drift by Molokai and the sea turtles feed on the coral just yards away is fantastic. The condo is on the west corner and you will be treated with incredible sunsets every night. The only thing to note is that the rooms do not have air conditioning - ceiling fans though - so it can get warm inside but who cares when you need only a swimsuit to enjoy Napili Bay. Give it a try if you want to wind down from a hustle bustle life and tune in to a relaxing and rejuvenating place. ”

It is a short walk to the beach which had some of the best snorkeling anywhere (if you like BIG turtles that is!). We snorkeled every day and saw anywhere from 5-30 turtles each time. It was amazing. The condo itself was very clean and nicely appointed. We found the price to be exceptional when compared to other condos and the views of this one can't be beat! Again, I would highly recommend this particular unit and would stay there again. ”

Our rental car remained unused, as the beach was perfect - right down the stairs from our condo, restaurants nearby and a lovely little market and fish market we could purchase provisions. We ate almost all our meals out on the lanai, overlooking the beach and beautiful Napili Bay. The sunsets are gorgeous and the king bed was so comfortable. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and tanned, rested and recharged, we reluctantly made our way home, hoping to come back SOON to Unit 209. ”

From our Lanai we watched the turtles playing in the surf and then we went snorkerling and swam with them and all the other beautiful fish. We were pleased with the kitchen and made ourselves Kona coffee in the morning, sandwhiches for lunch and tropical drinks to take out on the beach and watch the gorgeous sunset. The bed was comforatable, the view was amazing and we appreciated the information and welcome basket from Chuck. It was the best vacation I have ever had! ”

The condo was immaculate and had all the amenities needed for a self catering vacation. The owner Chuck arranged for a welcoming fruit basket for our arrival. This was much appreciated. We barbecued most nights and the amenities around the condo were clean and very well maintained. The location was exactly what we were looking for, right on the beach. We were hoping for a totally relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we achieved at this location. “ My partner and i were lucky enough to spend two nights in condo 208; we left wishing we could have stayed for a month! The place was immaculate, with everything provided to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, right down to a welcome basket of tropical fruit. The location was fantastic, with our lanai looking out over the beach - we watched magical sunsets from the comfort of our deck chairs but, being on the second floor, had some privacy from other beach users. At night we were lulled to sleep (in a wonderful king-size bed) by the sound of waves. We chose to go out rather than cook, but the kitchen was well stocked enough to allow simple cooking. The reservation / confirmation process was easy and efficient, and the instructions (from a guy named Chuck) on accessing the condo were both clear and easy to follow. Furthermore, the Aloha rentals prices were competitive compared to units managed by others. In short, I highly recommend Napili Bay (though part of me would like to keep it a secret!) My partner and I would definitely stay there again. ”

“ I researched the internet for days to find a place on the beach, with a balcony looking out at the ocean, where we could listen to the surf at night, and snorkel and swim during the day. The snokeling isn't like the Caribbean, but there were some huge turtles and colorful fish, as well as some coral. We really loved our stay. It was quaint, comfortable, and gave us an escape from the maddening crowd. Napili Bay is magical. I woke one morning, stepped out on the lanai, and saw four rainbows across the bay. The sand was soft and clean. We were comfortable with the breeze that blew through the place, and only needed the ceiling fans to keep us comfortable. You can hear the neighbors a bit on the lanai, but we weren't bothered. I have to say, Kathy, who manages the property, was so amazing and available to be helpful and make our stay comfortable. We had a really great time and would happily go back. The condo is well stocked for cooking. Boogie boards and beach chairs were provided, as well as beach towels. The bathrooms are small but adequate. You really have everything you need. My only negative comment is that I found the colors a little dingy and would like to see a more cheery tone in the decoration. Kathy helped me to get a more colorful spread on the bed, which made a difference. We would recommend this to anyone looking to get close to the ocean (the beach is only steps away) and away from the big hotel tourist experience. It is a short drive to all of that if you want it. We arrived late at night, and it was easy to find our way and get into the condo. It was all set up very nicely. We stayed 9 days and had a great experience. ”

Views were amazing, great location, amazing beach, not a huge selection of eating places to walk to, but the ones that were close, The Gazebo and the Seahouse were both great eats. Owner was great, had a little trouble with the lock-box getting in (my fault) but he was there to answer my phone call and get me on the right track. Overall probably the best place we stayed on Maui, would reccomend again and hope to be back soon! ”

The location is heavenly and our rooms (we occupied 2 rooms while we were there, 207 and 208) were clean, had a full size refrigerator/freezer and reasonably stocked. (coolers, toaster, blender, boogie boards, beach towels and chairs basic spices.) The BBQ is very nice and new. (208 had BBQ equipment but 207 did not.) We loved the balmy breezes and did not mind not having air conditioning at all. The beautiful ocean sounds lulled us to sleep and we were absolutely stunned by the views. The owner of room 208 greeted us with a beautiful fruit basket with a gift beach bag. This was especially nice since we had forgotten to bring one! We met the owner of room 206, (paradisehawaiiancondos.com) and she was personable and even though we were not her customers, she would have gladly helped us if we had needed something. We asked to see her rental unit and if there was anything to say that is a little less glowing it would be that 207 and 208 have not had the bathrooms updated and therefore are not as nice as room 206. We will definitely go again to the Napili Beach Resort but because of the bathrooms we will probably will see if 206 is available first. If not, the others are great too! Oh, for those of you worried about bugs...it's the tropics! Clean up after you eat and keep your garbage in a bag in the freezer like we did. That is all it took for us to keep bugs away. ”

A much needed reno. Extremely hot with poor air circulations made it uncomfortable day and night. Good news, I understand some other owner's units do have air conditioning and have been nicely refinished. Shop wisely. A few bugs in the kitchen. Overall-pass. There are so many other places to rent. We have now found two other excellent propertys and continue to come to Maui. ”

“ The rental itself was fine - clean, great view of the ocean. Disappointment was in two areas that might not bother other people - just me personally. On my 3rd day renters moved in next door who were chain-smokers. The smoke constantly drifted into my condo and lanai and the man had a smoker's cough that was non-stop. I was not able to enjoy the Lanai due to the constant smell of smoke and closing windows/doors in Hawaii makes little sense - I fault myself for not checking beforehand whether it was a "smoke free" condo complex. Perhaps that has changed since I visited. I also was not prepared for the large crowds (and noise) that gathered from morning until late afternoon right beneath my Lanai - I prefer a more secluded atmosphere. Again, this is of no fault to the condo itself - just my personal preference. I wanted to enjoy reading on the Lanai and looking at the ocean but between the smoke and the noise/activity below lanai, this was disappointing to me. I want to reiterate that the condo itself was lovely and well-equipped - just not the "spot" I had hoped for. No fault of owner or condo itself. Thank you for this oppportunity and I would recommend the condo to anyone who doesn't have my personal issues. ”

“ The Napili Bay is the only place I stay when visiting Maui. I always get an upstairs location. I love the fact that the sand is right below the lanai and the water is 20 yards away. The sunsets are killer every night. The beach is very local, not touristy like some other beaches. I love cooking in the unit and mingling with others at the private bbqs. There are no elevators or room service or stuffy front desks. It is all do it yourself and retro. The snorkling is awesome and you will always see turtles. I have been here at least 6 times and will continue to come. The Napili Bay is one of the best kept secrets on Maui. Mahalo for all the great memories! Scott and Nancy ”

The room had wireless internet which was a huge plus. It was a great way to post pictures of our trip as it unfolded to ensue jealousy from our friends and family(hehe). The boogie boards and beach chairs were a plus too! Wey cannot wait to go back to Maui and are looking forward to staying in the same exact room. It was absolutely perfect for our needs and our tastes. Hawaii is not about big hotels, crowded beaches and shopping...it is the most beautiful place on earth. “ We stayed for the first part of our visit on the second floor, in a room we loved, then moved to 109 due to booking availability. The biggest problem we had with the room was that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, very hard with springs digging into our backs. We contacted the property manager and condo association president. We let them know of the issue and asked what could be done to help the situation. We offered several solutions, such as an air mattress, changing rooms to a garden view (109 is an ocean view room)and asked to be able to contact the owners. When I was making the arrangements, I was under the impression I had been speaking with the condo owner, but when the problem arose, we discovered he was simply a property manager and very rude to us. Other issues were the screens are not the correct size so the edges gap and allows bugs into the room, the shower seems to be connected to the outside hose/shower/foot rinse area as the shower did not maintain proper temp, ranging from very hot to very cold within seconds, exposed wires, no batteries in the smoke detector, cabinets and drawers falling off hinges. Very poorly maintained room. Not a very private location either. We loved the other room we stayed in, room 207. When the issue was not resolved, we left the next day after moving in and stayed next door at the Napili Surf, which is a wonderful location with the best, most friedly staff we have ever met. ”

“ We do acknowledge that the queen bed in the condo has a firm mattress and box spring. We personally tend to prefer a firm mattress; however our current plans include the purchase of a new king size bed with pillow top that will likely be preferred by a greater number of guests. Our most recent purchase was the new sectional sofa and I hope you found it to your liking. We do routinely upgrade the furnishings in the unit.
The louvered windows on the beachfront are original to the building construction. The screens have been replaced and are held in place with small metal retainers. If a retaining clip was loose, the screen could have been pulled away from the frame and only needed to be clipped back in place. Our recent inspection of the windows did not reveal any improperly sized screens.
The beachfront shower and the large ceramic tiled glass-enclosed corner shower unit in the condo have entirely separate water supplies. The very large capacity hot water supply line for the individual units has a return loop to the water heaters, so that hot water is always available within a very few seconds after turning on the valve. A faulty shower mixing valve could conceivably cause the problem you describe. The valve has been checked and found to be working properly.
No exposed wiring was found, unless your reference is to some of the low voltage lighting in the upper part of the display cabinetry. A loose and improperly fastened drawer front on the bathroom vanity base has been fully repaired.
A missing smoke alarm battery is inexcusable under any circumstances. A new battery has been installed and the alarm is now in working order. As Napili Bay owners we are very concerned about fire safety and we do not allow smoking or candles inside of our condo. The entire property is currently being retrofitted with an automatic fire sprinkler system that is above and beyond code requirement for this property.

All of the kitchen knives need to be replaced. We could not cook AT ALL and ended up throwing out a lot of expensive groceries because all of the knives were so dull. We happened to be on Maui during a particularly hot time, and the condo was sweltering. A portable fan is needed in this unit. We knew there was no air conditioner, but the small ceiling fan did not circulate the air near the bed -- and the layout of the building prevented the natural breezes from cooling this condo. We loved the location, and although the condo and the property are older, they were comfortable. If you are looking for a bare bones property as a jumping off point for your adventures, this is the place, but if you want to spend a lot of time at the condo or do any cooking, look for someplace recently updated and better equipped. ”

The kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue was that the water filter needed to be changed in the fridge but I am sure the owners have attended to that since we gave them a heads up about it. We never had trouble parking and in general our stay was peaceful, relaxing and better than I had expected. We would definitely recommend this condo and are hoping to come back next year! ”

We stayed in Unit 207 which is a beach front end unit with an excellent view of the ocean and Molokai. The view is amazing and you are really close to the ocean. These studio units are just perfect. It was so nice to have a kitchenette in your suite so you could cook and take lunches down to the beach or enjoyed eating on the lanai. There were beach supplies which we used everytime we went to the beach. The place was very clean. Despite the temperature of Hawaii, the condo was generally cool due to the nice ocean breeze that came in through the wood blinds. There's also an electric and ceiling fan to keep the condo cool. These wooden blinds are also great for keeping the sunlight out in the morning. There are also books, cds, and movies in the room. There's TV, a vcr and dvd player. The free wireless internet was great and we never had any problems with it. Very convenient location overall- Napili is less commercial then Kaanapali or Wailea, more nestled in a sort of residential area, so it's cozier and more quiet but really close by is a little general store (2 min walk) and Napili Plaza with a regular sized grocery store and is short drive away. It is out of the hustle and bustle of Lahaina, but still very close to go for dinner or lunch. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, providing you're not looking for a higher end hotel. This is much more relaxing. ”

The lanai offers absolutely spectacular views from sunrise to sunset. It's a quiet complex at night (other than the pounding surf), we rarely heard noise from other guests past 9:00 PM. The only two negative things we have to say about unit 207 is that it's time for a general updating, fresh paint, updating the shower/bathroom area - that kind of thing. The other minor criticism is that there needs to be a decent set of kitchen knives - the ones that are there just "don't cut it". We ended up doing a lot of our own cooking this year to save some money and decided to buy a few knives to use while there. In our opinion the area of Napili Bay is the best location on Maui. You don't have the crowds and bustle of Kihei or Lahania - but they're both close enough when you're ready for that! The north-west part of Maui offers the best snorkeling on the island, much of it in Napili Bay or the two neighbouring bays Honokeana or Kapalua - couldn't be closer. This year we gave up waiting for 30 - 45 minutes to get into the Gazebo restaurant (right next door in Honokeana Cove) for breakfast (holiday time is way too precious to be standing waiting to get into a restaurant). Instead we went to the other end of Napili Bay to the Sea House Restaurant which is part of the Napili Kai resort. We were surprised to find excellent value (breakfast for two $20), outstanding service, and delicious food. All of this with no wait to get in and an outstanding ocean front view. There are cheaper places to stay on Maui, but if you're looking in the Napili area for an ocean front condo, you'd be hard pressed to find better value. We've done lots of looking around at similar units and the Napili Bay still comes out ahead of many others. Mahalo! ”

The manager, Lee, was always very courteous and friendly and made us feel very welcome, especially with our nightly gatherings at the grill area for family meals and fun. The grounds were also well groomed and tidy. The private beach access found us loving the ocean waves and an uncrowded, uncluttered beach for sunning, strolling, and exploring. We will definitely return in the future, hoping to find the condo facility as clean and as well kept as before! It was a perfect getaway, with all the comforts of home, and then some! The only drawback was limited parking, but the place was full, which is a good indicator of a visitor's satisfaction to Napili Bay Resort, one away from the more tourist-driven ones. We love the view and sleeping to the sound of the ocean. The beach is a perfect, beautiful, calm crescent. The units are simple, but more than adequate for our needs. They may not be elegant, but are well-stocked with the basics one needs to live comfortably. There is no need for A/C, given the constant breeze off the ocean. In general it is a quiet, family-friendly area, but the locals enjoy this stretch of beach as well, and one night we were kept up until the early morning by some folks hanging out in front of the property (all beaches in Hawaii are public property - so this might be a problem wherever one stayed). This was the first time we knew about the gazebo restaraunt two properties down the beach. They have the best breakfast food I have ever eaten - and the long lines to prove it! Do not miss it!! ”

We loved that we could walk to so many places. Just steps to the beach, the breakfast place, the restaurant for drinks at sunset. Kudos for a good job. I would also like to suggest some more other additions that may be worthwhile for some of your future customers: 1. Providing (for a fee) a "kitchen basket" for those who are staying 2-4 days. This kitchen basket may have some vegetables like onion, cucumbers, tomato; small cooking oil bottle, butter, yogurt, milk, eggs etc. Basically, I felt if you are going to stay for a week or so, you would do these groceries yourself, if you are going to live for a night or two probably you won't bother with this. However, if you are somewhere in between, an option to avoid the grocery trip with some of the bare essentials for a fee is something that some of the folks will be interested in. 2. Providing a "share your leftovers location". We did some groceries but were unable to finish all what we bought in our short stay. We are an eco-sensitive couple and do not like throwing/wasting food items. There were some groceries that we wanted to buy but did not because even the smallest packaged item was more than what we needed for our trip (e.g. cooking oil, red pepper, eggs). We would have bought some of these had we known a place where we could just leave our left over knowing that someone in need can pick it up from there. I understand you may be concerned about some legal implication because of food hazard of expired items, but I believe you can start off this with non-perishable items with appropriate waivers. Something simple like a refrigerator in an open area or a container near the barbeque area should serve the pu ”

The owners left a gift basket of local fruit and snacks which was such a lovely thought and well appreciated after a 5 hour flight. The suite is beautifully decorated in modern style, very clean and everything you could need was there from a flat screen tv and wifi to simple but useful things like plastic food containers and a cooler box for picnics, and even dishwasher powder. Also the washer/dryer area and the bbq nearby was very handy. The only thing we felt would have been useful was a small battery operated lamp or something similar as we tended to eat dinner on the lanai at night so a little more light would have been really handy. Being so close to the beach was perfect and we definitely miss the routine of grabbing drinks, snacks and beach chairs to go watch the sunset. We'd like to thank the owners for a lovely, perfect stay and would definitely stay here again. ”

The condo appeared just as I had seen it on the Aloha Condos website, and matched the reviews I had read on Trip Advisor. Although initially pleased with the condo, it seemed to grow even more cozy the longer we stayed. The condo owner has supplied virtually everything you'll need on your stay within the unit, including beach towels and boogie boards. The unit is recently re-furnished, with a very comfortable visco-elastic mattress and nice couches, tables, and night stands. It even has an HD flatscreen tv for watching television or movies. Nearby the condo (about .5 mi up the road) you'll find a convenient store plaza off the main road. It has a grocery store, two coffee shops, and places to catch a meal like Maui Tacos. If you're in the mood for grillin', the condo shares two large Kenmore BBQ grills that are more than adequate. One word about noise: from this unit location, the wave noise is almost nil (I was worried the units directly on the beach would get too much wave noise) and there is very little people noise (especially in comparison to the beach front units). On the other hand, there is quite a bit of bird noise in the morning (or, at least while we were there). I guess it depends on how you like to wake up! ”

The simplest thing sometimes is the most important. The bed sheets, comforter, and the bath towels were soft, the pillows were firm. We slept so well every night. Even though there were many restrictions in the condo such as you can't hang anything on the patio railing to dry your wet swimwear or towel, there is a cloth liner in the bathroom for you to do that. At first I wonder if we would stay cool in the condo with just 2 ceiling fans but to our surprise, it kept us comfortable through the night. With the free Wi-Fi internet, we were able to access the internet to search for near by restaurants and to get directions. Lastly, I regret not writing in the guests book. Most importantly, I forgot to read the guests book because many previous guests had left very important travel information such as the best beach to hang out, restaurants, and shopping. “ This was the second time my husband and I stayed here; the first being last July for our honeymoon. #217 is perfect because it's very private, but still steps away from the beach. It's close enough to everything (Front Street is only a few miles away). Jim is an excellent host and left us a really nice basket with fruit and candy - the managers onsite are also great, they checked in with us a few times when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The unit is clean, has new furniture and is very cozy. We cooked a lot of the time on the barbeques downstairs this time; the last time we ate out a lot but we felt the food was so much better when we made it. There's a great ethnic market a few miles away where we got a lot of great seafood really cheap and grilled it. The beach was semi-crowded, but never overly so. (it's a private beach). I would highly recommend this unit for 1-2 people; it's a studio condo and not huge but roomy enough with a fully stocked (utensils and stove, dishwasher, etc) kitchen, private lanai outside, and swimming gear like boards and floaties. If you prefer being around tons of people and like more touristy hotel settings, then this wouldn't appeal to you. But if you like your privacy and don't want to feel like you're up to your ears in people, this is an excellent choice. ”

First of all, the location is fabulous. We never needed to leave Napili, and the bay is wonderful. If you get tired of snorkeling and swimming in Napili Bay, you can always make the 10 minute walk over to equally stunning Kapalua Bay. The property itself is small, quiet, and you literally walk out onto the sand. There are a few peculiarities, which we quickly got used to. It might take a night or two to get used to the noise of the pounding surf. The condos are always open....no glass, only screens and shades. No A/C but we never needed it and enjoyed the openness. The condos are only about the size of an average hotel room, but that's all you need. Kitchens are fully functional, well-stocked, and clean and new. Stop at Costco (by the airport) or Safeway (Lahaina) and get your groceries and you won't need to leave. There's a small grocery store with a few other stores (including Boss Frog snorkel rental) just up the road. In a sense I hate to write such a positive review, cause I really don't want the Napili Bay to become hard to get into. It's not a big resort, not for kids, and not super elegant. It's just an excellent quiet place for a couple to get away and be lazy! We love it and are returning soon. ”

There was no air conditioning but had a nice breeze at all times. Once negative was the walls were a bit thin. A short drive or walk to the Ritz resort area is great for a nice dinner out. Unit 217 - Napili Bay : Simply Wonderful

“ We stayed in Unit 217 for 10 days last October. This was our second stay at the unit in two years and once again it lived up to our expectations. It is a pleasure dealing with Jim/Aloha Condos and the rental process, from initial booking right through to completion of our stay and return of deposit, was handled efficiently as always. The unit is as described on the website and was extremely clean and very well presented (and this is from somebody who is VERY picky (NB: see observation below*)). We were greeted with a welcome gift basket on arrival - a nice touch. The unit was well stocked with linens/towels/pots and pans etc and you couldn't want for anything when preparing meals. It had its own boogie boards and beach chairs/coolers/towels. Although the unit does not have air-conditioning (it has ceiling fans, however), I can honestly say that we never felt uncomfortable with the heat at any stage during our stay; the winds kept the unit cool and ventilated throughout the day/night (we have stayed in a similar resort in Kauai and this was problem). The amenities on-site were great - we made use of the 2 communal barbeques and washers/dryers. The resort grounds were well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. We have stayed in 3 different units at Napili Bay and on two occasions in 217. Personally, we prefer Unit 217 for location, as it is just off the front of the beach (to the side, but still with a great ocean view) and provides a little more privacy during the late afternoon/early evening whilst relaxing on the balcony. *One observation from last year's stay was that in our opinion the living area seating appeared a little worn due to wear. I note, however, that whilst looking at Unit 217 recently, Jim has renovated all the living/sleeping area furniture and furnishings and the unit looks fabulous. Congratulations once again to Jim for making our stay a most memorable one. ”

“ Thank you for your feedback and I also thought that the furniture was getting a bit dated. It hadn’t been changed since I did a complete remodel back in 2000.
So last month decided it was time to upgrade and I did a complete remodel of the living area. I replaced all of the furniture with lovely and luxurious solid mahogany furnishings and mellowed out the color scheme with more earthy browns and sage greens. I replaced the headboard, night stands, sofa, coffee table, dresser, and wall mirror and as well as adding a new desk, chair and entertainment stand.
I also repainted and wall-mounted the 26” HDTV which now has over 300 digital channels and dozens of High Definition channels. You can even record your favorite programs on the DVR so that you watch what you want on your schedule.
I really hope that you come back and enjoy all of the updates.

The only part that we weren't too crazy about was that it is required that everyone be charged $100 for cleaning upon checkout, yet we were responsible for taking out the trash, doing the dishes, putting dirty towels in the appropriate place, etc. It only costs me $65 to get my whole 1870 sq. ft. house to be cleaned, so I think $100 for the tiny studio condo is a bit steep. All in all, we'd return for another visit! ”

The view of the ocean from this condo is indirect, but not bad, and I actually enjoyed not being on the bay front where it is more noisy and people can look into the window... We return to Napili every year and would not stay any other place in Maui. We love the quiet and would recommend it to anyone who loves a quieter more family-friendly beach vacation. But please don't tell anyone, we want to keep the crowds and high prices in Kaanapali! ”

But it is within walking distance of a little grocery market to stock your fridge with breakfast and lunch foods. Also just down the beach is a pretty swanky resort with great food and drinks. Great spot and great money saver. After staying at one of the big hotels in Kaanapali and here, we'd definitely choose to stay here again. ”

The beach was just outside the condo. There was a great coffee shop just down the road (Java Jazz & Soup Nutz). Many of the guests before us had written in the guest book -- both about how much they enjoyed their stay and about the sea turtles you could find swimming in a small cove nearby. We also found the turtles (and even managed to get a few surprisingly decent pictures with a disposable underwater camera!). The high speed internet worked perfectly and was very useful in planning our mini-trips around the island. We had a fantastic time staying in this condo and will look into it when we return to Maui. The only audio was a little clock radio with scratchy sound. The kitchen was well equipped. Unit 201 had the best ocean front view. It also had the most privacy of all units. Most of our time was spent on the lanai watching the beautiful sunsets. The condo was equipped with everything you could think. There was even a small cooler to use for day trips. The mattress was very comfortable. Location couldn't have been better, we discovered a coastal hiking trail within walking distance of the condo. Although there was no air conditioning, we found it to be comfortable with the fans and the ocean breezes. Would highly recommend it to all our family and friends. ”

“ We looked forward to this trip and were excited to find a reasonably priced condo right on the beach. Communication between the condo owner and us was really good and we had no trouble finding or getting into the condo late at night when we arrived. The home was just what we expected having seen photos on the internet. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were especially surprised and pleased to find an ipod dock in the room to charge our ipod and itouch. Some of the issues we had were that the unit was very tidy and 'surface' clean...it really could have used a thorough cleaning as it was somewhat grubby. The king sized bed needs a new mattress as it is very sloped on the side closest to the bathroom and this was hard on my back and made sleeping difficult. So, it wasn't restful sleeping there. The location and Napili Beach is wonderful. There were a couple of times that I would have appreciated someone in the 'office' to get some service...but, there's no office or obvious way to reach a manager for the complex. This was a bit frustrating. The bed alone would prevent me from renting this condo again. We thought we would 'love' the sound of the surf lulling us to sleep, however, the surf was bigger than usual (the locals said) and very loud....crashing and roaring all night which also interrupted and affected our sleep. Otherwise, it was a nice stay. Thank you. ”

“ Mahalo for your review on my beachfront condo in Maui. This is the first negative review I’ve received so I felt it was important that I personally review your concerns.
Your review notes that the condo needed a thorough cleaning so I’ve made my local contact and cleaning company aware of your disappointment – but first thought I’d check out the condo myself before letting them know.
When I first arrived in Maui there were guests already in my condo, so I asked them if felt the same way as you and they said absolutely not. They were surprised that a previous guest party had not felt the condo was thoroughly cleaned.
After the guests left I did an inspection and again didn’t find the condo to be dirty “behind the surface”. Of course my cleaners are now on alert and my local contact will continue to check their work after every cleaning.
Your comment on the bed mattress surprised me and I am sorry that you had trouble sleeping. I have installed 10 of these same high quality mattresses in all of my vacation rentals in Hawaii and have never had a negative comment since I put them in 2 years ago. The brand is Bergad and they are high-end Isoform Visoelastic mattresses. I’ve found them to be better than the Tempur-Pedic mattresses that I used to use because not only are they more comfortable, they are much cooler. I’ve had at least 20 comments from my guests raving about how they had never slept on a better surface and I love sleeping on them myself.
Based on your comment about sloping, I just replaced the box springs. The old ones were built for a spring-type mattress and the new ones are specifically made for Bergad-type mattresses.
You had mentioned that you needed to reach somebody for service but you never tried to reach my local contact or cleaner during your stay. Their phone numbers are included in the check-in materials as well as inside of the condo and they are available 24 hours a day. It would have been nice to have been able to give them the opportunity to resolve the issue(s) that frustrated you during your stay.
Lastly, this beachfront condo is 35 feet from the ocean. You would land in sand if you jumped off the lanai. The sound, smell, sights and feeling of being by the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean is why this condo is so popular. If you don’t want to have this direct beachfront experience, I own condo 217 and would recommend this lovely beach view condo as a better choice for any future stay with us.

The mattress was the best I've ever slept on, one of those visco-elastic memory foam beds. It's also a king size bed, which for some reason is hard to find in a studio condo out there. We swam with turtles every day. The best way to do that from the condo, by the way, is to walk left at the beach and follow the little footpath over the lava rocks to the small, protected bay on the other side (you'll pass the Gazebo restaurant). There are a couple easy entry spots, you'll see people getting in and out of the water, just follow them. The only "con" I can think of about this place is the constant sound of waves hitting the shore, 24/7, day and night. That's really nothing to complain about, I know, but I'm a light sleeper and we had to keep the windows open (it was August), and the waves really can seem noisy in the middle of the night. But that said, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to go back. P.S. For anyone who cares, I did not see a single bug in the condo. ”

Shaded outdoor cooking area was a nice addition to the full kitchen inside (with blender, toaster, etc). Onsite manager (Lee) and cleaning staff were pleasant and kept things neat. This unit is beautifully furnished, equipped with everything you will need and nice patio furniture on the lanai to enjoy the breathtaking views. The only con with this unit would be if you had any physical issues that would make it difficult to get your luggage up the stairs. This complex is located on the best beach in Maui, the grounds are immaculate and the feel is relaxed. It is a short driving distance to lots of shopping and dining options, quite a few within walking distance.There may be some noise from the beach (because it is literally right below the lanai!), but being on the second floor helps to buffer it. Do not hesitate to rent this unit. If you are headed to Maui for the beach, the scenery and relaxation, you will not be disappointed! ”

We wanted somewhere on a swimming beach that was romantic but still have easy access to shopping and dinners out. The condo is perfectly located. It's on the best bay on Maui - beautiful sunsets, clear water for swimming & snorkelling, resident turtles, and only a few feet from breakfast every morning to the sand. An easy drive to Lahaina and the condo itself is well equipped, very clean, great decor and the sound of the ocean was wonderful to listen to every night. The welcome basket was a great touch! Evenings are very quiet and perfect for romantic moonlit walks along an empty beach. This is a unit that all you have to do is show up with your flip flops and your bathing suit and you're set. “ As I found and booked this property online I wondered how accurate the descriptions were until we arrived. It was very accurate and there was no surprises other than a nice welcome gift in the room. The property sitting on the beach allowed a number of activities for young and older participants. We watched whales drinking coffee in the morning on the lanai, playing on the beach, snorkeling in the wonderful bay accompanied by the resident turtles and catching as much sun as possible. We enjoyed cooking ourselves when we wanted in a well equipped kitchen although we have visited 2 restaurants easily accessible in neighboring resorts. There is a plaza close by to allow groceries shopping, renting snorkeling equipment, booking activities etc. We appreciated all information provided by the owners where to go, what to do, where to eat out. We did quite a lot of exploring of Maui but would likely be perfectly happy just to stay and rest on "our beach". We liked the unit perfect for 2 people- it was clean, well maintained - we were very comfortable after the first night that surprised us by the sound of ocean's waves and palm's "talking" in the wind. Overall it was one of the best vacation ever. I can wait to go back there. ”

“ I found and rented this property on line hence until we arrived I did worry how different the true experience will be. To my surprise it wasn't. The property's location so close to the ocean allowed morning whale watching sessions from unit's balcony drinking the first coffee, not worrying about putting the shoes on to get to the beach. The beach is great, and snorkeling in the bay easy. I loved the ability to cook in the unit although there are easily accessible 2 restaurants on both sides of the condo unit in the neighboring resorts. There is a number of stores close by to buy groceries, rent the snorkeling equipment, book activities. There was a number of suggestions what to do, where to go provided by the unit owners that was appreciated. The unit was clean, well maintained and equipped. We missed nothing and were comfortable after the first night of surprising sounds of the ocean's waves accompanied by the wind. Overall it was one of the best vacation experiences I had. We are planning to go back! ”

The beach is a leap away, snorkeling is good, turtles frequent the rocks / coral to the right, and there's even a great little restaurant/bar walking distance up the beach in a neighboring condo that made the whole bay a treasure. The condo had all amenities of home that we needed-- we cooked a lot and the kitchen was stacked with all the right things... cookware, spices, towels, and a dishwasher. #106 was extraordinarily clean, and felt cozy from the walk-in. The lanai was our favorite spot where we enjoyed our meals as we look over the beauty of the island. Huge thumbs up-- we're so going back. ”

“ You know you've stayed someplace special when, after more than a year, you still smile when you see a picture of it. In fact, Napili Bay was so wonderful, I have a picture of the view from the room as my screensaver. Napili Bay is in a quiet area, with easy access to the rest of Maui. The beach is imaculate and gently slopes to the ocean. There is a beautiful shade tree right outside your door and it doesn't get too crowded because it is in sort of a cove. We were there for our 25th anniversary and found it perfect for our needs. The unit was quite clean, the bed very comfortable, and the tiled bath was great. Everything was modern with a wonderful, fully equipped kitchen. I prepared several evening meals and breakfast every day, which helped maintain our leisurely pace. It was truly magical to fall asleep every night to the sound of crashing waves just 50 yards away. We were there in June and it was perfectly lovely, no air conditioning was necessary. The view from this room is spectacular and we saw several rainbows after early morning showers. It's just a short ride to some great snorkeling and all the other attractions and about 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Laihaina. My son plans to honeymoon in Maui next year and I will definitely recommend Napili Bay! ”

“ We spent a week in this condo for our honeymoon. Everything was beyond perfect...from the lovely gift basket awaiting our arrival to the gorgeous sunsets we viewed everynight from our lanai. Check in couldn't have been easier, as all we had to do was key in the code we were given and there was our key! No long lines like in a hotel. (same for checkout) The kitchen was fully equiped and top of the line. The condo came with all sorts of beach toys and chairs so it was nice not to have to rent those separately. There were plenty of towels and supplies stocked within the condo...never ran out. The beach was fantastic. After touring around the island and checking out different beaches we were the most pleased with Napili Bay. Perfect white sand and nice calm water. There was an awesome tree right on the beach and it provided us with shade when needed. We saw lots of turtles and even a monk seal on the beach one day! We would return to Napili Bay in an instant and probably stay in this same room again - absolutely zero negatives. ”

Napili Bay had such a private family feel to it. It was not crowded, but the people who were there seemed to be locals. The room was just as i was on the internet, very updated and beautiful. It was nice to have a TV that had DVR, not that we used it that much. The balcony is right on beach and has wonderful slatted windows that open. It was incredible and I would stay there time and time again. It was very easy to make the reservations and I always had a response quickly. I would reccomend this place to anyone! ”

The only thing that would have made the unit perfect was if you could get to the beach from the lanai, which I understand for security reasons, it's not practical. The owners provided snorkeling gear, boogie boards and beach chairs so there wasn't a need to rent any gear. The only negative was the bed and pillows weren't that comfortable and the linens and towels were sub-par. For as nice as this condo is, I would have expected them to be much nicer. But, the view more than made up for this. I would definitely rent this condo again as it's a good value for what you get. ”

The first thing I said to my wife after we arrived was "call the owner, we have to stay longer!" This initial impression only became stronger over our 5 day stay. Each morning, we woke up and took a quick swim in the sparkling blue waters before cooking breakfast in the ultra-nice kitchen and eating on the incredible-view lanai (back porch). We watched whales jump in the distance and lizards scury across flowers/trees as we ate. After breakfast, we'd lounge on the beach (again, 5 steps from the front door) making frequent trips back to the kitchen for drinks, snacks, etc. Frequently, we'd walk 10 min across the beach to the next bay to snorkel with families (6-10 at a time) of large sea turtles. For dinner, we'd use the community grill to cookout and then watch movies on the zillion-channel satelite TV/flatscreen or play DVDs. Or we might walk down the beach to one of two restaurants overlooking the water. Suprisingly, the beach really was not crowded during the daytime - even with beautiful weather - we never had to fight for a spot. The beach is small with gentle waves and the crowd is very mellow/family (not much surfers or bikini babes). It was expensive but - we think worth every penny. We can't wait to come back! ”

Entire condo looked newly remodeled, with nice taste in design. Bed was comfortable and it was very easy to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves. Though we were on the first floor privacy was not a problem, since the first floor lanais are raised at about 4 to 5 feet above ground. Views of the beautiful water about 50 ft away from us on the lanai were amazing. The beach was nice too, we saw alot of marine life while snorkeling throughout the day right in front of our condo. The location was nice also because of it being away from the high rises. Yet still a very short walk to a few restaurants and a short 15 minute drive to the town of Lahaina. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we can't wait to visit again! It was so relaxing. ”

There is a grocery store up the street and the kitchen was fully stocked for preparing food. Being right on the beach we ran back and forth for meals, snacks & drinks. It could not have been more convenient. There were boogie boards, beach chairs & towels. The condo was very cozy and had everything that we needed. When we found a huge cockroach nest in our kitchen cabinets and coffee pots; management was nowhere to found. Call the phone # on the office door- too bad, wrong person- call someone else- the number is in the book someplace-get their voicemail-no response ever. But when its time to leave and your scramling to go but 15 minutes late, now they (Andrea?? owner of an adjacent condo)shows up to push you out the door, verbally chastising us along the way as if we were squatting. She even blamed us for not calling the "right" Managers # when dealing with the cockroaches. This treatment to "guests" paying a lot of money, coming during a major recession where the place was half empty, is mindboggling. Your vacation is too valuable to risk staying here. If something goes wrong (and it will at some point), your completly on your own and you may even get yelled at. There are plenty of other nice affordable places in Napili to stay. We didn't even initially mind a run-in with cockroaches-this is the tropics, but we would expect someone will help get rid of a huge nest or at least return our call. Despite the great beach, we won't ever stay at this place again. They don't deserve your business, stay someplace they will treat you with some respect. ”

While the building itself is older and not particularly cute or fancy on the outside (made to blend with it’s environment?), the inside of the condo is cheerful and attractive. From what we could tell, this is one of the most nicely done remodels in the whole complex. We ended up being happy we went with this non-ocean front room because the sun didn't beat into the room all day, and it allowed for more privacy and quiet. Taking our meals out on the patio with the lovely view was one of our favorite things. There’s even a communal outdoor grill and laundry facility for shared use. It takes about 60 seconds to walk down two short hallways and two short flights of steps to the beach. Napili Bay is a small, lovely beach and it was so relaxing to have our own place incredibly close to the water. While the beach is a little steep, making it challenging to walk along it at high tide, it's got good snorkeling. We found even more amazing snorkeling at Kapalua Bay which is just about a 5-minute drive away. We didn't go to either of the two restaurants on the beach, but it was nice to have the option (each within 5 or 10-minute walking distance). The nearest large grocery store is about a 6-minute drive a way in a little mall off the highway. The entire beach is super sunny with just about one spot of shade underneath a tree (right in front of the complex), but we always were able to sit there when we wanted to. We highly recommend this amazing condo and hope to return soon! ”

“ This was our first time to the islands, and were looking for a place to just plain ol' relax and rest. After LOTS of online research, we realized that a quiet place away from the hustle of tourist activity (but close enough to tourist activity as an option), a swimmable beach with nearby snorkeling and a nice restaraunt or two nearby was our goal. Our stay at Condo #211 was the perfect fit! The access is literally on the beach, and we were able to both swim and snorkel within steps of our unit. Since we are not sun people per se, the large umbrella tree in front of the condo served us well every day, providing shade and a front row seat to the water. The building is older, but the owner has done a nice job remodeling this unit. It does indeed look just like the camera views on the website. Our view was perfect and we didn't regret at all not having a beachfront room. (Didn't regret not having a pool either!). We reccomend you stop at Costco after picking up your rental car upon arrival if you don't plan on eating out every day. Whenever we didn't feel like cooking, we walked a short walk down the beach to the Sea Island restaraunt (directly on the beach with amazing water views) and ate 1/2 price appetizers (pupas) for dinner during the happy hour. Their breakfasts were also excellent and more reasonably priced than the much touted Gazebo Restaraunt. I am writing this review becasue I read so many reviews from people who took the time to share their experiences, and their helpful hints took away my first time trepidation in going to Maui and staying at a lesser known place (as well as booking from the internet). The instructions provided by Chuck for our check in were excellent and we had no trouble whatsover. We definitely reccomend Unit #211 if you aren't stuck on a high end, high priced room and are looking for a family type atmosphere that is friendly, comfortable, relaxing but within arm's reach of any tourist fun Maui offers... ”

The only negative is that there is not a sofa or love seat so you have to sit by yourself but overall the condo is wonderful. The place has a prime location on napili bay and the snorkeling is great. You are also walking distance to some great places to eat that are actually affordable. We would recommend this condo and would consider going back if we venture back out to Hawaii. ”

We contacted Aloha Condos and the entire process went off without a hitch. The pictures on the website are 100% accurate (down to the rolled green towels you'll find waiting on the bed). The condo is gorgeous and clean. There are tons of ceiling fans which kept the air moving and the condo comfortable. Having access to the washers/dryers was clutch and we had no trouble finding a time when they were available. The condo is stocked with helpful items: boogie board, beach chairs, beach mats, towels, umbrella, etc. The kitchen was also stocked with everything we needed to make a few easy meals. (Note about groceries and gas - everyone warned us about how much it would cost in Hawaii. But coming from the Boston area there was only a slight price increase for both!) The views from the condo lanai are terrific. Most places which advertise ocean view have a sliver of ocean if you hang off the lanai - not here. The view is fabulous and we had breakfast everyday soaking in the view. We loved the Napili Bay area. The beach is fun and the water is great. You can jump right in and see fish in the clear water. It is a short drive to Lahaina but there are great restaurants close by as well! We 100% recommend unit 211! We’re already dreaming of a return trip!! ”

Everything you could need are in this unit, including all sorts of beach gear. The beach is only a few steps from the unit and the views from the lanai are beautiful. A short walk from the resort is the Napili Bay General store which seems to have everything you need and very cold beer. A short walk away is the Seahouse restaurant at the Napili Kai resort, the food is excellent and prices reasonable, with outstanding views. This is our favourite area on Maui and would highly recommend the Napili Bay resort and unit 211. ”

Only downsides to consider... if you want privacy, this is a typical Hawaii condo, which means no AC, open windows, and you can hear everything that all of your neighbors are saying or doing... and they can hear you. No pool here either, which was no big deal for us, as the ocean is amazing, but if you are looking for more of the traditional resort-y experience, this is not the place for you. Pay three times as much and stay at the Westin down the road. But if you want to stay at a clean, modern, and beautiful location right on the beach, and are looking for a great deal. This is it. Stop looking at that other stuff and just book it. Hear me? ”

By the end of our stay we noticed that the crashing of the waves actually helped us to drop off each night because of their rythmic beat. Watching the sun rise and set each day from our balcony was poetic and swimming in the bay was a new experience each day. Being able to sit on the beach, sneak up to the condo for drinks or snacks and then go back down within minutes was so fantastic. The units are close enought to Lahaina but far enough away to let you really relax. Napili Bay has to be the best kept secret of Maui and I wish I was there right now! ”

We really enjoyed the view from our second floor unit's lanai. The sunsets were great. Being right on the beach was a definite plus. The grounds were very nicely maintained but the big feature was the beach. You can't beat that beach. The unit was small but sufficient for two people. The kitchen has been nicely remodeled. Although there is no air conditioning, we had no issues with heat. Noise did not seem to be a problem either. On the slightly negative side, the wicker furniture was not especially comfortable and the bed was average, at best. However, this is a beautiful spot. Everything you need is close at hand. We plan a return visit. ”

The refridgerator is in the room with you and it cycles on and off all night. The room is on the beach with a high pressure sodium street light shining in the room all night. No a/c. Kids congregated under the under the street lamp and drank and partied until 2 in the morning. Local police and the management were not helpful. No utensils of any worth in the kitchen. No BBQ tools by the BBQ, either. Flannel sheets on the bed with temperatures hovering at a chilly 76 degrees for the low. It was 12 sleepless nights of endless noise, heat, humidity and sweat. We contacted the rental place upon our return with some of our concerns and were pretty much blown off! Be careful to note whether there is a non-refundable deposit involved should you wish to reserve time here. Enjoy your stay... ”

The view outside of the complex was breathtaking. The cove that the complex is located on is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The resort was small, cozy and quiet. I never even realized there were other guests staying there. My boyfriend and I were able to save a little bit of money by buying groceries at the market and eating/snacking in the condo instead of eating every meal out. The only complaint I have, and it's minor, is that the bed is really hard. Nothing an foam egg crate can't fix though! I highly recommend Napili Bay to anyone traveling to Maui. ”
