Love it.
We had a really good experience with aloha Condos. When we arrived there was a basket with fruit and chokolate and there was nice and clean. We felt very welcome. The Condo is very near shopping facilities, and in a reasonable distance to Lahaina where there is plenty of nice and cosy restaurants. Napili beach is a really beautiful beach, and we fell a sleep to the sound of the waves. We definately recommend this aloha Condo.

Beautiful Condo with excellent beach access
We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and were really impressed with the suite. Everything you need is there and the view is spectacular. We will definitely return.

Beautiful condo in a perfect location!
My husband and I stayed in this condo for 10 days for our honeymoon in July. The condo is in great condition and the location on Napili Bay is perfect. We loved the view of the ocean from our Lanai. The owner has stocked the condo with everything you could need for cooking your own meals as well as coolers to bring food to the beach. There are also boogie boards and snorkel masks on the Lanai. The owner is extremely prompt on getting back to you with any questions which I really appreciated. The condo does not have aC but it stayed cool enough with overhead fans and a box fan that we found in the closet. The bed is also very comfortable. Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a private place on an amazing beach!

Really, really a great stay!
We stayed one week in condo 109. We read all this reviews with "...saw the wales from the lanai..." and "...what a great beach with a wonderfull sunset.." and so on. What should we say - it's all true! We enjoyed our stay there so much that we didn`t want to leave. The condo was prepared very well, the "first aid kit" (present basket) was well selected and the wifi worked good. Everything we needed was there: Fridge, plates and cups, silverware, pans, towels, tv... ...really everything. The BBQ-place was nice, also there are washing machine and dryer. We choosed condo 109 because of the bayfront view and its location at the first floor - it was a good choice.

What a great place to stay!
We had such a wonderful time staying at Napili Bay. We are trying to plan our next trip back. The condo was perfect for a couple like us who love to snorkel and enjoy being on the beach! We enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching sunsets and rainbows over Molokai in the morning. However the best part of our stay was falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf! We will be back!

I found this place 10 years ago from Frommer's-listed as a great, inexpensive option for Napili. First time stayed beach front and center, upstairs. This time far back, on the side, partial beach view (upstairs). I prefer the front and center beach view, but if you want to be a little removed from the hub-bub, you may prefer 217. Jim is very organized, sending periodic emails about your upcoming stay. I like these and found them helpful and gave me peace of mind that everything was taken care of. The room was perfectly clean on arrival. This unit does not have some of the upgrades I saw in other units (granite counter tops, newer appliances), but it was fine. Guests here tend to be quiet-definitely not a party spot, which I love. There is some early morning noise from the surrounding birds and sprinkler system. Since the birds can't be controlled maybe the sprinklers could go off a little later (8 instead of 7?). The on-site manager is super-friendly. Hot water can be a little iffy, but generally was fine-just a few times it took a while to come on. The exterior of the building could use a paint job. Jim leaves you a binder of info about the area, which is helpful. Location is super. Napili Beach is great (although a little too crowded) and the sea turtles around the corner make it all a perfect spot.

Our 9 day stay at Napili Bay condo 217 was everything we had hoped for. The condo had everything we needed. The whole process was super smooth and easy. The wi-fi was excellent for picking out places to eat. The area with the washer/dryer, soda machine and tourist info was nice to have. The coziness and quietness of the condos is second to none. A huge plus is the beach access. It was so nice to have such a short walk down to what we thought was one of the best, if not the best beach on the island. Other then the walk to Kapalua, we had a hard time finding parking at some of the other beaches in the area. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at Napili Bay. One morning we woke up and our ceiling fan had broke overnight. We called, and within a couple hours, the onsite management, Lee I believe was there to fix it while we were at the beach. Him and his wife, and everyone else we dealt with for that matter was extremely friendly and willing to help. Spent a lot of time researching before booking this. If you're looking for a smaller, reasonably priced, quiet vacation with great beach access, this is the place for you. Will definitely try to get back to Napili Bay condo 217

I was most pleased with the accomodations, everything was as it was presented, and more. The welcoming gift basket was not only a nice surprise, but an added statement about this owners desire to provide his guests a true Magical Maui visit. The condo itself is well appointed, the island location and beach access excellent, and it attracts the kinds of people, locally and visitors alike, you would call 'friend.'

Condo 217 was is a great condo to stay in. Newly updated, this condo was quite comfortable and very reasonable priced. The garden view (with partial ocean) was worth the savings, rather than being in a direct ocean view condo. This unit had no AC but wasn't needed. The TV was nice to have at night because Napili Bay is in a quiet location. Thing to note when concidering Napili Bay: 1. Vehical rental is a must. 2. Driving time is substantial to other parts of the island. 3. The beach is beautifull but may not be suitable for small childern, due to the surf conditions. 4. Napili Bay is not in the dry area of the island(it could rain briefly). 5. Leave your kids at home for this unit! 2per-max. 6. An absolute stunning beach. 7. Beach is semi quiet. 8. Good for boogie boarding. 9. Resturants on either sides of the beach(the Gazebo is tops for breakfast, but be early or wait). Access from "The Shores" or beach. 10. Groceries are a 10min walk away.

My wife & I enjoyed the semi-isolation of Napili Bay. This bay is beautiful! The place was quaint, had a view of the ocean from the lania, a very comfortable bed and was well equipped with modern appliances, an HD TV & PVR. I must point out though, someone prior to our visit fumigated the place using a common over the counter spray like Raid. It was a rude awakening to discover as soon as we entered the condo. It absolutely reeked! To tell you the truth, my wife must have been really tired as I was surprised she didn't refuse to stay the night. We both had sore throats and numbed tongues the next morning. The smell lingered for the next few days. For this reason, I am reluctant to ever book this condo again as I found this an unacceptable practice.

Contrary to what you might think, being 50 yards from the beach is preferred to being right on the beach. Great privacy from your lanai without losing the whole beach affect. You can eat your meals in your boxers if you so desire! The room has everything, including a view, home ammenities, a great bed, a great lounging couch, a nice HD LCD tv on the wall. I wouldn't change a thing. (Especially the price. It is a bargain!)

We stayed in unit 217 over the new year and it was a fabulous experience. Initially, I was a little worried that the resort and beach would be noisy and crowded, as we were traveling at a very busy time of year, but it wasn't. The beach was busy, but never crowded and the resort itself was quiet and relaxing. Our unit was so clean and had everything that we needed. We really appreciated the beach chairs, the boogie boards, the beach towels and the little cooler. The bed was very comfortable and had a good selection of pillows to choose from. It was never too hot in the unit, even though there is no A/C. It would have been nice to have a little battery operated light for the outside table, as we ate outside each night. We loved that we could walk to so many places. Just steps to the beach, the breakfast place, the restaurant for drinks at sunset. Even the grocery store, bank and post office were only a 15 minute walk away. This was our first Hawaiian holiday and we are totally hooked and want to come back next year.

First of all let me thank you for the wonderful studio you provided for our stay in Maui. I was very impressed by your attention to detail for providing all the small things like water filter, aluminum sheet for oven, beach towels and the special gift for us. My wife has a very sensitive stomach and as such avoids eating outside. Your well equipped kitchen provided us with most of the things we needed for our light cooking during our stay. Kudos for a good job. I would also like to suggest some more other additions that may be worthwhile for some of your future customers: 1. Providing (for a fee) a "kitchen basket" for those who are staying 2-4 days. This kitchen basket may have some vegetables like onion, cucumbers, tomato; small cooking oil bottle, butter, yogurt, milk, eggs etc. Basically, I felt if you are going to stay for a week or so, you would do these groceries yourself, if you are going to live for a night or two probably you won't bother with this. However, if you are somewhere in between, an option to avoid the grocery trip with some of the bare essentials for a fee is something that some of the folks will be interested in. 2. Providing a "share your leftovers location". We did some groceries but were unable to finish all what we bought in our short stay. We are an eco-sensitive couple and do not like throwing/wasting food items. There were some groceries that we wanted to buy but did not because even the smallest packaged item was more than what we needed for our trip (e.g. cooking oil, red pepper, eggs). We would have bought some of these had we known a place where we could just leave our left over knowing that someone in need can pick it up from there. I understand you may be concerned about some legal implication because of food hazard of expired items, but I believe you can start off this with non-perishable items with appropriate waivers. Something simple like a refrigerator in an open area or a container near the barbeque area should serve the pu

My boyfriend and I stayed at 217 Napili Bay and we really enjoyed the suite, It really felt like a home from home. The owners left a gift basket of local fruit and snacks which was such a lovely thought and well appreciated after a 5 hour flight. The suite is beautifully decorated in modern style, very clean and everything you could need was there from a flat screen tv and wifi to simple but useful things like plastic food containers and a cooler box for picnics, and even dishwasher powder. Also the washer/dryer area and the bbq nearby was very handy. The only thing we felt would have been useful was a small battery operated lamp or something similar as we tended to eat dinner on the lanai at night so a little more light would have been really handy. Being so close to the beach was perfect and we definitely miss the routine of grabbing drinks, snacks and beach chairs to go watch the sunset. We'd like to thank the owners for a lovely, perfect stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great condo, great location, good for honeymooners

Honeymooners'09 from Oregon on 10/12/2009 said:
My wife and I stayed in unit 217 for 4 nights in late September/ early October, 2009. The condo appeared just as I had seen it on the Aloha Condos website, and matched the reviews I had read on Trip Advisor. Although initially pleased with the condo, it seemed to grow even more cozy the longer we stayed. The condo owner has supplied virtually everything you'll need on your stay within the unit, including beach towels and boogie boards. The unit is recently re-furnished, with a very comfortable visco-elastic mattress and nice couches, tables, and night stands. It even has an HD flatscreen tv for watching television or movies. Nearby the condo (about .5 mi up the road) you'll find a convenient store plaza off the main road. It has a grocery store, two coffee shops, and places to catch a meal like Maui Tacos. If you're in the mood for grillin', the condo shares two large Kenmore BBQ grills that are more than adequate. One word about noise: from this unit location, the wave noise is almost nil (I was worried the units directly on the beach would get too much wave noise) and there is very little people noise (especially in comparison to the beach front units). On the other hand, there is quite a bit of bird noise in the morning (or, at least while we were there). I guess it depends on how you like to wake up!

The condo was amazing and perfect for what we needed. Napili Bay is the best beach we saw while we were in Maui. You couldn't ask for a better location. The kitchen was very well stocked except I would bring some ziplock containers if you plan on making a lot of your own food. There were a few containers but not enough for us. We ate breakfast and lunch at the condo most days and went out for nicer dinners in the evening. We did have one small problem with bugs (termites) one day, but it was handled swiftly by the staff and we were able to continue our vacation relatively hassle free. Overall, this condo was the best condo and location for the price we found anywhere. We still think so! The bed was even nicer than our own and we thought ours could never be beat. One small note about food, don't bother eating at the Gazebo. It's rated high on tripadvisor but the food is average and birds will land on your plate without hesitation (gross!). Definitely eat at Roy's (incredible food and about 2 miles south of the condo).

If we had known the condo was so comfortable and there's so many more things to do in West Maui, we would have stayed couple more days. The price for the condo was very reasonable. It was clean and equipped with everything we need. I was surprised it even had 2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards and 2 beach towels ready for us to enjoy the beach which is just behind the condo. The simplest thing sometimes is the most important. The bed sheets, comforter, and the bath towels were soft, the pillows were firm. We slept so well every night. Even though there were many restrictions in the condo such as you can't hang anything on the patio railing to dry your wet swimwear or towel, there is a cloth liner in the bathroom for you to do that. At first I wonder if we would stay cool in the condo with just 2 ceiling fans but to our surprise, it kept us comfortable through the night. With the free Wi-Fi internet, we were able to access the internet to search for near by restaurants and to get directions. Lastly, I regret not writing in the guests book. Most importantly, I forgot to read the guests book because many previous guests had left very important travel information such as the best beach to hang out, restaurants, and shopping. Thank you for the wonderful experience Baptista

This was the second time my husband and I stayed here; the first being last July for our honeymoon. #217 is perfect because it's very private, but still steps away from the beach. It's close enough to everything (Front Street is only a few miles away). Jim is an excellent host and left us a really nice basket with fruit and candy - the managers onsite are also great, they checked in with us a few times when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The unit is clean, has new furniture and is very cozy. We cooked a lot of the time on the barbeques downstairs this time; the last time we ate out a lot but we felt the food was so much better when we made it. There's a great ethnic market a few miles away where we got a lot of great seafood really cheap and grilled it. The beach was semi-crowded, but never overly so. (it's a private beach). I would highly recommend this unit for 1-2 people; it's a studio condo and not huge but roomy enough with a fully stocked (utensils and stove, dishwasher, etc) kitchen, private lanai outside, and swimming gear like boards and floaties. If you prefer being around tons of people and like more touristy hotel settings, then this wouldn't appeal to you. But if you like your privacy and don't want to feel like you're up to your ears in people, this is an excellent choice.

It was great having that beach feel like "our" beach. There is enough to do there if you don't want to go exploring around the island, and it's wonderful to be right on the beach so it's easy to take snorkel gear, etc. with you from your room. It was wonderful that we had a welcome package waiting for us in our condo, and there was snorkel gear, beach chairs, & other equipement there for us to use. The condo was very nice, even better than in the pictures. We felt very safe in this location, and at such an unbelievable price! Found the Napili Bay through tripadvisor.com and had read many consistent reports, so my wife and I thought we'd give it a try. We were not at all disappointed. First of all, the location is fabulous. We never needed to leave Napili, and the bay is wonderful. If you get tired of snorkeling and swimming in Napili Bay, you can always make the 10 minute walk over to equally stunning Kapalua Bay. The property itself is small, quiet, and you literally walk out onto the sand. There are a few peculiarities, which we quickly got used to. It might take a night or two to get used to the noise of the pounding surf. The condos are always open....no glass, only screens and shades. No A/C but we never needed it and enjoyed the openness. The condos are only about the size of an average hotel room, but that's all you need. Kitchens are fully functional, well-stocked, and clean and new. Stop at Costco (by the airport) or Safeway (Lahaina) and get your groceries and you won't need to leave. There's a small grocery store with a few other stores (including Boss Frog snorkel rental) just up the road. In a sense I hate to write such a positive review, cause I really don't want the Napili Bay to become hard to get into. It's not a big resort, not for kids, and not super elegant. It's just an excellent quiet place for a couple to get away and be lazy! We love it and are returning soon.

We loved the proximity of this place to the beach and the unit itself was comfortable. We forgot the code to get in the door so we had to stay at the hotel next door for one night. The owner of the condo called us back the following morning with the code, but we had already been charged for that night of course (even though we didn't use the condo). We wished there had been someone on the island who could have helped us at the time- our perhaps a number that we could have called after hours to get the code.

I am sorry that you didn't have the information you needed to get into the condo upon your arrival. I've not had this problem with guests since your stay in 2005 and always try to do my best to make sure it doesn't happen.
Detailed check-in information is provided to all of my guests, along with local contact information in case of problems, at least one month prior to their arrival.

The beach is great, as is the proximity to Kapalua and Lahaina (close enough to restaurants, golf, etc without being swamped with traffic). The condo is perfect for a couple, and we especially liked the sound of the ocean at night. The only downside was having an inconsiderate neighbor for a couple of nights who played their TV (loudly)all night--I guess to drown out the the sound of the ocean. Otherwise, we'd have rated this perfect. We will rent Unit 217 again on our next trip to Maui.

We really enjoyed our stay in Napili Bay. The condo was really well kept and there was everything that you ever need/want. The only drawback was the wind. WOW! That part of the island is fantastic but alittle isolated....which was good for us! I would recommend the condo for anyone on a budget, anyone wanting to "get away" from the bustle and a as a great place to relax! Thanks.

This was probably one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. It was a quiet location and while others were fighting for parking to be able to enjoy Napili Bay we just had to walk across the property and we were in turtle heaven. The room was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied and I can hardly wait to return. If you have a car and don't mind driving around a bit this place is for you. You are close to some great beaches, but you will have to drive to get to them. Napili itself is right there, but it is fun to explore other beaches too. Not many resturants within walking distance. I am planning to return to Napili Bay. We absolutely loved it.

You always take a chance reserving a vacation rental on-line, will it turn out to be as nice as advertized? In this case it was better than we hoped. From the fruit basket greeting, to sitting on the lanai watching the whales, to sitting on one of the prettiest beaches we've seen in the islands, this was a truly wonderful vacation condo. While the north end of the island is perfect for a quiet vacation, you had a grocery store and snorkle shop just a couple of minute walk from your door, and a nice beach stroll to oceanside dining or cocktails at sunset (which was not blocked by the offshore island). Not only would we stay here again, if we could afford it we'd buy a unit.

Maui was beautiful and this unit made our stay in paradise perfect. We were welcomedon our first day with a lovely fruit basket. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The complex was quiet. We sat out on the lanai each morning and watched the dolphins play. We were steps to the beach which was just gorgeous. Beach chairs and a cooler were even provided. Snorkeling was great-lots of turtles call Napili Bay home. There is no air conditioning in the unit which was not a problem for us due to the great breezes but it's something to be aware of. I would prefer to stay here than in the noisy, crowded beachfront resorts. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it. I have nothing bad to say about our experience in Unit # 217. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I planned a last minute vacation to Maui and found a piece of heaven at Napili Bay. The complex is more "old hawaiian" style and the studio is nice for a couple. The view from the balcony was terrific and we saw many whales. The condo had everything we needed for our stay, ie full kitchen, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, wave boards, etc. Check in was easy since you get the key code prior to arrival. Rocco made the reservation process so easy and was very helpful. We have been to Maui several times, but have never stayed in Napili. It was great to get away from the crowds and enjoy the beach which is just steps away from the condo. The condo was clean and well kept. There was no air conditioning but had a nice breeze at all times. Once negative was the walls were a bit thin. A short drive or walk to the Ritz resort area is great for a nice dinner out. We will definately be back.

We love The Napili Bay Resort! I saw somewhere that the loose motto of this place is, "Beach chairs and boogie boards." This sums up the experience save one key piece. The community (I almost say family) of The Napili Bay Resort is really nice. When you stay there you meet almost everyone. You meet them on the beach every afternoon for cocktails and sunset viewing (drag your beach chair out there) and later in the evening there is an informal bbq session where everyone sits around the courtyard to "talk story." Beautiful beach out in front and some nice little tide pools for checking out. Also, it's away from the rat race of Kaanapali Beach :) -roccit

We stayed in Unit 217 for 10 days last October. This was our second stay at the unit in two years and once again it lived up to our expectations. It is a pleasure dealing with Jim/Aloha Condos and the rental process, from initial booking right through to completion of our stay and return of deposit, was handled efficiently as always. The unit is as described on the website and was extremely clean and very well presented (and this is from somebody who is VERY picky (NB: see observation below*)). We were greeted with a welcome gift basket on arrival - a nice touch. The unit was well stocked with linens/towels/pots and pans etc and you couldn't want for anything when preparing meals. It had its own boogie boards and beach chairs/coolers/towels. Although the unit does not have air-conditioning (it has ceiling fans, however), I can honestly say that we never felt uncomfortable with the heat at any stage during our stay; the winds kept the unit cool and ventilated throughout the day/night (we have stayed in a similar resort in Kauai and this was problem). The amenities on-site were great - we made use of the 2 communal barbeques and washers/dryers. The resort grounds were well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. We have stayed in 3 different units at Napili Bay and on two occasions in 217. Personally, we prefer Unit 217 for location, as it is just off the front of the beach (to the side, but still with a great ocean view) and provides a little more privacy during the late afternoon/early evening whilst relaxing on the balcony. *One observation from last year's stay was that in our opinion the living area seating appeared a little worn due to wear. I note, however, that whilst looking at Unit 217 recently, Jim has renovated all the living/sleeping area furniture and furnishings and the unit looks fabulous. Congratulations once again to Jim for making our stay a most memorable one.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback and I also thought that the furniture was getting a bit dated. It hadn't been changed since I did a complete remodel back in 2000.
So last month decided it was time to upgrade and I did a complete remodel of the living area. I replaced all of the furniture with lovely and luxurious solid mahogany furnishings and mellowed out the color scheme with more earthy browns and sage greens. I replaced the headboard, night stands, sofa, coffee table, dresser, and wall mirror and as well as adding a new desk, chair and entertainment stand.
I also repainted and wall-mounted the 26" HDTV which now has over 300 digital channels and dozens of High Definition channels. You can even record your favorite programs on the DVR so that you watch what you want on your schedule.
I really hope that you come back and enjoy all of the updates.

The beach at Napili Bay is beautiful, and we enjoyed snorkeling in the bay, especially in the early mornings. The key attraction to Napili Bay Resort is convenience. If we choose to sightsee, NBR is close to so many attractions, restaurants and shopping. If we choose wind-down, NBR gives us the chance to sit on the beach, swim and only worry what to have for our next meal. For families with youngsters, NBR is in an ideal location in a quiet residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of mega-resorts. We have been coming to NBR for ten years and will continue to make it our prefered vacation spot for many more.

This is a wonderful condo on Napili Bay. This bay has about six 2 story condos, is relativley private, with a nice mix of locals. There are two restaurants on either end; The Gazebo and The Sunset House, which are very good. This condo has been remodled 5 years ago, but is still in great shape as can be seen by the pictures. I have only 2 small complaints. They advertise shampoo/conditioner, which was not in the condo. Also, the lighting in the bathroom is lacking. There is uplighting and with a small change to downlighting would make a huge difference. While we there, the ceiling fan in the downstairs unit, 111, had a problem causing a huge buzzing noise and vibration (in our bathroom). I talked to the renters and were very agreeable to making sure it was turned off when they weren't using it. I'm sure that is something that will be addressed with 111's owner and will be taken care of. We had very nice chairs for the beach, a boogy board, fins, a mask (the rubber was worn out) and an umbrella. Most of these things were left by others. The whole complex is very well taken care of and a great place for the laid back life style and a real taste of Maui!

We had a great stay in this lovely beach-side condo. Though not directly facing the beach, we had a wonderful view of the beach from our deck. The beach was a great jog in the morning and snorkeling nearby was easy given that Snorkel Bob's shop is right up the street. Overall a very pleasant and affordable stay in Hawaii.

Being able to be right on the beach, only steps away was the best........we personally have no negative comments about the place, but then again we're pretty low key...just like the place. The condo is everything we were hoping for: a one-minute walk to the beach, lovely view, quiet, down-to-earth casual atmosphere, fresh/clean inside with lots of modern amenities. While the building itself is older and not particularly cute or fancy on the outside (made to blend with it's environment?), the inside of the condo is cheerful and attractive. From what we could tell, this is one of the most nicely done remodels in the whole complex. We ended up being happy we went with this non-ocean front room because the sun didn't beat into the room all day, and it allowed for more privacy and quiet. Taking our meals out on the patio with the lovely view was one of our favorite things. There's even a communal outdoor grill and laundry facility for shared use. It takes about 60 seconds to walk down two short hallways and two short flights of steps to the beach. Napili Bay is a small, lovely beach and it was so relaxing to have our own place incredibly close to the water. While the beach is a little steep, making it challenging to walk along it at high tide, it's got good snorkeling. We found even more amazing snorkeling at Kapalua Bay which is just about a 5-minute drive away. We didn't go to either of the two restaurants on the beach, but it was nice to have the option (each within 5 or 10-minute walking distance). The nearest large grocery store is about a 6-minute drive a way in a little mall off the highway. The entire beach is super sunny with just about one spot of shade underneath a tree (right in front of the complex), but we always were able to sit there when we wanted to. We highly recommend this amazing condo and hope to return soon!

Although the condo is not right on the beach, it has a great beach view, and its nice and quiet. Location is perfect -- almost "end of the road" feel being that there is not much past Kapalua. Traffic is quite a bit lighter than just down the road at Lahaina. Local shopping and restaurants are good -- not much need at all to go farther than Kapalua. From the glimpse I had of some of the other units in the complex, unit 211 is one of the better remodeled options. We'll definitely be back again!

This was our first time to the islands, and were looking for a place to just plain ol' relax and rest. After LOTS of online research, we realized that a quiet place away from the hustle of tourist activity (but close enough to tourist activity as an option), a swimmable beach with nearby snorkeling and a nice restaraunt or two nearby was our goal. Our stay at Condo #211 was the perfect fit! The access is literally on the beach, and we were able to both swim and snorkel within steps of our unit. Since we are not sun people per se, the large umbrella tree in front of the condo served us well every day, providing shade and a front row seat to the water. The building is older, but the owner has done a nice job remodeling this unit. It does indeed look just like the camera views on the website. Our view was perfect and we didn't regret at all not having a beachfront room. (Didn't regret not having a pool either!). We reccomend you stop at Costco after picking up your rental car upon arrival if you don't plan on eating out every day. Whenever we didn't feel like cooking, we walked a short walk down the beach to the Sea Island restaraunt (directly on the beach with amazing water views) and ate 1/2 price appetizers (pupas) for dinner during the happy hour. Their breakfasts were also excellent and more reasonably priced than the much touted Gazebo Restaraunt. I am writing this review becasue I read so many reviews from people who took the time to share their experiences, and their helpful hints took away my first time trepidation in going to Maui and staying at a lesser known place (as well as booking from the internet). The instructions provided by Chuck for our check in were excellent and we had no trouble whatsover. We definitely reccomend Unit #211 if you aren't stuck on a high end, high priced room and are looking for a family type atmosphere that is friendly, comfortable, relaxing but within arm's reach of any tourist fun Maui offers...

Because of the positive reviews on tripadvisor's website, we booked Napili Bay Condos, unit 211. We didn't spend much daylight time in the condo, but enjoyed the view and amenities when we did. We were a stairwell away from a gorgeous beach, a 5 minute walk down the beach from the best breakfast on the island (try The Gazebo's banana or white chocolate chip pancakes while you watch sea turtles and whales in the water), and just a short drive from Lahaina. We were also close to the golf course, the famous Nakalele blowhole, the beautiful North Shore scenery, shopping, entertainment, etc. The room was so comfy, the bathroom and kitchen recently remodeled and beautiful. We had cable for the nights before we fell asleep, and enjoyed the airy screened windows and door to our balcony. We weren't used to the loud surf and did have trouble sleeping some nights, but we were in Maui, so we didn't care. We plan on booking the same condo someday when we get to return to the island.

Me and my wife stayed at this wonderful # 211 condo between May 6th and 9th. I think Napili location has got to be the best in the area, close enough to Lahaina for dinner and a stroll, with great access to all West Maui beaches and not in a highly populated resort area. The condo albeit small is beautifully furnished, new bathroom and kitchen and is still very confortable. The owners really want their place taken good care so if you are kind of careless you may feel slightly annoyed by the reminder signs. Anyway, they add to make you find a very clean and tidy place. When choosing a condo in this complex please make sure that it has been recently updated as is the case with 211. I would also recommend this appartment because of its beautiful side view (of the sea, sunset and beach) without having to pay beachfront prices. Chuck Buser from Aloha condos was great managing the reservation and payment. Deanne who manages the property was also very helpful and nice.

The Napili Bay condos were awesome! We stayed in unit 211 for 5 nights on our honeymoon (July 8 - 13) and it was the highlight of our time in Hawaii. We contacted Aloha Condos and the entire process went off without a hitch. The pictures on the website are 100% accurate (down to the rolled green towels you'll find waiting on the bed). The condo is gorgeous and clean. There are tons of ceiling fans which kept the air moving and the condo comfortable. Having access to the washers/dryers was clutch and we had no trouble finding a time when they were available. The condo is stocked with helpful items: boogie board, beach chairs, beach mats, towels, umbrella, etc. The kitchen was also stocked with everything we needed to make a few easy meals. (Note about groceries and gas - everyone warned us about how much it would cost in Hawaii. But coming from the Boston area there was only a slight price increase for both!) The views from the condo lanai are terrific. Most places which advertise ocean view have a sliver of ocean if you hang off the lanai - not here. The view is fabulous and we had breakfast everyday soaking in the view. We loved the Napili Bay area. The beach is fun and the water is great. You can jump right in and see fish in the clear water. It is a short drive to Lahaina but there are great restaurants close by as well! We 100% recommend unit 211! We're already dreaming of a return trip!!

We really loved Napili Bay Resort. Was a little hard to find after a long flight late at night. But woke up our first morning to a full moon setting at sunrise, unbelievable. This particular unit is immaculate. Second floor, brand new inside. Great view from lanai. Nice vibe around the property overall. Beach was great, but we didn't spend much time there, preferred to wander around the island... but it was beautiful and you could be very happy sitting there all day, I promise. Only downsides to consider... if you want privacy, this is a typical Hawaii condo, which means no AC, open windows, and you can hear everything that all of your neighbors are saying or doing... and they can hear you. No pool here either, which was no big deal for us, as the ocean is amazing, but if you are looking for more of the traditional resort-y experience, this is not the place for you. Pay three times as much and stay at the Westin down the road. But if you want to stay at a clean, modern, and beautiful location right on the beach, and are looking for a great deal. This is it. Stop looking at that other stuff and just book it. Hear me?

A short walk away is the Seahouse restaurant at the Napili Kai resort, the food is excellent and prices reasonable, with outstanding views. This is our favourite area on Maui and would highly recommend the Napili Bay resort and unit 211.

I came to Maui to de-stress and #218 was exactly what I needed. The room was welcoming, exceptionally clean, nice amenities, and though at the 'back' of the condo complex it has a wonderful (did I say already? "quiet and private") view of the ocean from the lanai. I arrived late afternoon and sat on the lanai with my wine for the sunset - and saw 2 whales breeching. Kathy, the condo cleaner was so friendly and so helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in #218 again or to recommend it - highly. Best deal I've found in Hawaii.

My husband and I absolutely loved our week spent at Napili Bay, unit 218. The studio condo was extremely clean and inviting, and even though it was on the end of the condo complex, it still had a great view of Napili Beach. We loved how we could step out our front door and be lounging on the beach in under a minute! We especially appreciated all the little considerations, like the beach equiptment, mini-cooler, extra fan, etc. Our least favorite part of the condo was the bed - it was not only extremly hard, but seemed to slope oddly away from the center and made for sore backs and necks the following morning. However, the bed aside, we had an absolutely fantastic experience and we will try to return again soon to this private little get-away!
Manager response:
Aloha Emilyin. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback about the bed in our unit. Since this is the first time we received such feedback, I will follow up with the guests since your stay and potentially look into replacing the mattress the first opportunity we have. Thank you again and we hope to have you back in our unit again in the future.
"Aloha Emilyin. I just want to let you know that we replaced the mattress and box spring a couple of weeks ago and to thank you to again for bringing this issue to our attention."

My boyfriend and I got engaged on our first night on Maui on the beach at Napili Bay. We absolutely loved our condo, which made our wonderful vacation even more enjoyable. The condo was easy to find, easy to park, and close to all the necessary stores, etc. that made our stay relaxing and confortable. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could ever need: a beach cooler, flashlight, welcome gift basket, dishes and kitchen supplies, etc. It was exactly what we needed and what we expected when we booked the place. We had breakfast on our patio listening to the waves every morning. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing, beautiful, safe place to vacation.

The reservation process was efficient and friendly. I enjoyed the independence of having a little apartment instead of staying at a hotel. This condo is nicely located close to a small mall that had pretty much anything you would need for a stay. It was clean and well equipped with access to a gas grill, laundry room and a nicely maintained private beach. There is no air conditioning but the apartment had great crosswind ventilation and a very effective ceiling fan. Perfect size for couples or a lone traveler.

This was our second time staying at Napili Bay, but first time in this condo. We got a great last minute deal, and were very happy with the unit especially since it was on the end but still had an ocean view. The location is ideal with Napili Bay Beach right outside, Kapalua resort area nearby with walking trails, restaurants, spa, etc. The unit had some great amenities such as beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels, etc. Recommendations for the owner would be to fix the very high transition from the tile to hardwood. We stubbed our toes/tripped so many times on that - Ouch! Also, it would be great if there were more comfy pillows and more selection of dishes such as bigger cereal bowls, baking/cookie sheets, utensils, etc.
Manager response:
Aloha Kristine. Thank you for staying with us for the 2nd time and for your feedback on things we can improve in our unit. I just wanted to let you know that you have addressed the floor transition from the kitchen to the hardwood floors and also have restocked the kitchen with more dishes and general kitchen utensils. Aloha and hope to have you back again soon.

Room 218 is a 1 minute walk to the picturesque beach with 2 great restaurants located on it: Sea House and the Gazebo. The room had plenty of ammenities including, a cooler, beach chairs and boogie boards to use for free. It was also clean and quiet and even though you are not right on the beach, you can still see a good view of the beach/ocean from the Lanai. Also, there are so many other great beaches, restaurants, snorkeling spots and shopping within 3 - 30 minute drive of Napili Bay Resort.

I found the information provided in the condo about the local area, places to eat etc. very helpful. It was nice to have recommendations from those who know best! The condo was well located with shops within walking distance and so close to the beach. The only criticism I have is that the condo is quite dark during the day without the lights on. On the other hand, it did help to keep the condo cool. Overall a brilliant place to stay, I'll be back again soon!

The beach is right next to the complex and was never crowded. The snorkeling is good here. Restaurants and stores are conveniently close by in Napili and Kapalua.

The ONLY negative I have to report is the $120 cleaning fee. For a two room condo, it should have taken no more than one to two hours maximum to clean. I thought $60-$75 would have been more appropriate.

wamaui from Tacoma, WA on 04/18/2009 said:
We stayed for the first part of our visit on the second floor, in a room we loved, then moved to 109 due to booking availability. The biggest problem we had with the room was that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, very hard with springs digging into our backs. We contacted the property manager and condo association president. We let them know of the issue and asked what could be done to help the situation. We offered several solutions, such as an air mattress, changing rooms to a garden view (109 is an ocean view room)and asked to be able to contact the owners. When I was making the arrangements, I was under the impression I had been speaking with the condo owner, but when the problem arose, we discovered he was simply a property manager and very rude to us. Other issues were the screens are not the correct size so the edges gap and allows bugs into the room, the shower seems to be connected to the outside hose/shower/foot rinse area as the shower did not maintain proper temp, ranging from very hot to very cold within seconds, exposed wires, no batteries in the smoke detector, cabinets and drawers falling off hinges. Very poorly maintained room. Not a very private location either. We loved the other room we stayed in, room 207. When the issue was not resolved, we left the next day after moving in and stayed next door at the Napili Surf, which is a wonderful location with the best, most friedly staff we have ever met.
Manager response:
We do acknowledge that the queen bed in the condo has a firm mattress and box spring. We personally tend to prefer a firm mattress; however our current plans include the purchase of a new king size bed with pillow top that will likely be preferred by a greater number of guests. Our most recent purchase was the new sectional sofa and I hope you found it to your liking. We do routinely upgrade the furnishings in the unit.
The louvered windows on the beachfront are original to the building construction. The screens have been replaced and are held in place with small metal retainers. If a retaining clip was loose, the screen could have been pulled away from the frame and only needed to be clipped back in place. Our recent inspection of the windows did not reveal any improperly sized screens.
The beachfront shower and the large ceramic tiled glass-enclosed corner shower unit in the condo have entirely separate water supplies. The very large capacity hot water supply line for the individual units has a return loop to the water heaters, so that hot water is always available within a very few seconds after turning on the valve. A faulty shower mixing valve could conceivably cause the problem you describe. The valve has been checked and found to be working properly.
No exposed wiring was found, unless your reference is to some of the low voltage lighting in the upper part of the display cabinetry. A loose and improperly fastened drawer front on the bathroom vanity base has been fully repaired.
A missing smoke alarm battery is inexcusable under any circumstances. A new battery has been installed and the alarm is now in working order. As Napili Bay owners we are very concerned about fire safety and we do not allow smoking or candles inside of our condo. The entire property is currently being retrofitted with an automatic fire sprinkler system that is above and beyond code requirement for this property.
Aloha,
Don & Jan Nicholas, Owners, Napili Bay Resort 109

And it was a great plus to be in a corner unit like this one for added privacy. My husband and I took it easy and had a great relaxing time enjoying the breeze, beach, sun and nearby restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner all within walking distance from the condo. I'd go there again except now that we have a baby, I'd have to look for a unit that will allow more than just 2. We got some rather loud folks above us and the floors don't hide normal walking noises at all. But it drives you outside to the beach, which isn't bad at all. Recommended to stay here.

The only thing that would have made our particular unit more enjoyable is if it was more upgraded, after all it is beachfront. We loved the condo, and appreciated the thoughtful kitchen accessories, as we like to cook; we didn't lack for anything in our home away from home. The bed was nicer than mine at home, and the view from the lanai was wonderful each evening. Chuck was great, very accomodating when we needed some flexibility. We can't wait to come back with a group - Paul and I get 207 though :) Only complaint - the water - it tastes like it has lots of bleach in it and showers are tough because the water goes hot and cold - appears to be connected to use in the other condos.

My daughter and I enjoyed a blissful week of paradise in the Napili Bay Resort Condo 207. We arrived to a clean, well-equipped condo and the lovely ocean roar as our constant companion. We saved money by eating most meals in and appreciated the little extras like sharp knives, a blender, and small cooler . The two beach chairs and boogie boards (provided) saved us the hassle (and expense!) of renting these necessities. The extremely comfortable bed, nice breeze, and ocean waves gave us some much needed R&R. I wish we could spend every spring break at this resort, particularly in condo 207! Our friends stayed at the over-priced and over-touristy Westin Hotel. They spent most of their days in front of our condo enjoying our little slice of paradise. We noticed quite a few locals enjoying the beach which seemed a good indication that Napili is the place to be! The a.m. snorkeling was incredibly and usually the bigger waves came in the afternoon, perfect for boogie boarding. And, of course, the nightly parade of whales we could watch from our lanai sealed the deal. We want to come back!!!!

The one problem both of us experienced was with the shower. A hand held shower generally is more hepful and certainly more versitile. Even more important, the shower was inconsistant. One second we were freezing and the next we were being scalded. That was a serious problem. I almost fell trying to escape the hot water. The location was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. Parking was good. The whales provided much entertainment. With the exception that I mentioned, our experience was very positive.

Condo 207 was well appointed with good facilties e.g. comfortable bed, good shower, good cooking facilities. Fans were effective and the louvred windows/doors are very efficient in cooling the apartment. The view is sensational and Napili beach is one of the quietest places in the area - which is saying something. The little touches were a surprise and much appreciated - fruit/chocolates on arrival, beach towels, boogie boards. Saw whales, turtles and there was some excellent surf one morning on the point. Booking was also easy and convenient. We are two very satisfied customers

Megan from San Francisco on 11/08/2009 said:
Napili Bay is a fantastic location, with great snorkeling and swimming. Condo 207 has a wonderful view of the bay and was very clean, but there were a few problems. All of the kitchen knives need to be replaced. We could not cook AT ALL and ended up throwing out a lot of expensive groceries because all of the knives were so dull. We happened to be on Maui during a particularly hot time, and the condo was sweltering. A portable fan is needed in this unit. We knew there was no air conditioner, but the small ceiling fan did not circulate the air near the bed -- and the layout of the building prevented the natural breezes from cooling this condo. We loved the location, and although the condo and the property are older, they were comfortable. If you are looking for a bare bones property as a jumping off point for your adventures, this is the place, but if you want to spend a lot of time at the condo or do any cooking, look for someplace recently updated and better equipped.
Manager response:
I知 glad you enjoyed the view and I do apologize for the dull knives in the drawer and the warm temperatures.
Our local contact would have been happy to provide you with some sharp knives and a portable fan.
I wish we had been afforded the opportunity to better serve you.

I recently traveled to Maui with my 73-year-old mother. This was her first trip to the islands and it was a lifelong dream. She was not disappointed. Our condo was clean and had all the amenities to make our stay very comfortable. There is a little shopping center five minutes away that had everything we needed for our stay. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. Being lulled to sleep at night by the ocean waves and awakened by the singing birds was phenomenal. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai and then enjoyed the setting sun from the beach in front of our condo. Our time at Napili Bay Resort was fantastic. If we make it to Maui again we will no doubt stay at the same location. Thank you so much for making my Moms dream trip come true.

The condo was very nicely furnished. Neighbors are great, very friendly, and you have access to the BBQs outside. You will find anything you need inside the condo, from dishes to beach chairs, including all the little things like a cork screw, etc. The location can't be beat. Great beach, calm waters in the bay, no high rise buildings... Great snorkeling, we saw turtles and manta rays right in front of our place (it's really cool to see a turtle just 20 steps from your building when others drive for hours for a chance to do the same thing). I have to admit, the little gift basket we got at the beginning really sold us from the start; they had us at Hello...

We came to Maui for the first time and stayed in condo 207. What a find! After much internet research we booked our vacation at Napili Bay through Aloha condos based on the great photos and testimonials of those vacationers that had gone before us. We were not dissapointed and now it's our turn to describe how our expectations were exceeded. If you want to stay in a big fancy resort with a pool and a spa, this isn't the place for you, however, if you want to be directly on a gorgeous, intimate beach with the sound of the ocean waves crashing and the convenience of your own kitchen to cook delicious meals and eat them on the lanai as the sun sets, well you have probably stumbled upon a little piece of heaven. The kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue was that the water filter needed to be changed in the fridge but I am sure the owners have attended to that since we gave them a heads up about it. There were beach chairs in the unit as well as boogie boards which we certainly used and had lots of fun with. We never had trouble parking and in general our stay was peaceful, relaxing and better than I had expected. We would definitely recommend this condo and are hoping to come back next year!

Napili Bay is a wonderful, quiet place! If you are looking for the alternative to commercialized resort then this is your place! Very clean and relaxing place, not super fancy but well kept with a nice kitchen and nice appliances and utensils. We stayed in Unit 207 which is a beach front end unit with an excellent view of the ocean and Molokai. The view is amazing and you are really close to the ocean. These studio units are just perfect. It was so nice to have a kitchenette in your suite so you could cook and take lunches down to the beach or enjoyed eating on the lanai. There were beach supplies which we used everytime we went to the beach. The place was very clean. Despite the temperature of Hawaii, the condo was generally cool due to the nice ocean breeze that came in through the wood blinds. There's also an electric and ceiling fan to keep the condo cool. These wooden blinds are also great for keeping the sunlight out in the morning. There are also books, cds, and movies in the room. There's TV, a vcr and dvd player. The free wireless internet was great and we never had any problems with it. Very convenient location overall- Napili is less commercial then Kaanapali or Wailea, more nestled in a sort of residential area, so it's cozier and more quiet but really close by is a little general store (2 min walk) and Napili Plaza with a regular sized grocery store and is short drive away. It is out of the hustle and bustle of Lahaina, but still very close to go for dinner or lunch. We would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, providing you're not looking for a higher end hotel. This is much more relaxing.

My stay at Aloha condos was very nice as Napili Bay is exquisite! If you like walking down to the beach this is the place for yo. I did not read my confirmation so I was a bit out of the loop on the checkin as you need to let yourself in via the lockbox combo on the door. Read your confirmation. If you are a person that really needs a/c this is not the place for you. Hot time 4-8 pm but it's summer so winter months are probably more bearable. The view is well worth all of this!

The Napili Bay complex is a great place to stay. We've spent two vacations there and loved them both. Unit 207 offers lots of amenities, it has everything you could possibly want during your vacation. It's clean and relatively spacious. The lanai offers absolutely spectacular views from sunrise to sunset. It's a quiet complex at night (other than the pounding surf), we rarely heard noise from other guests past 9:00 PM. The only two negative things we have to say about unit 207 is that it's time for a general updating, fresh paint, updating the shower/bathroom area - that kind of thing. The other minor criticism is that there needs to be a decent set of kitchen knives - the ones that are there just "don't cut it". We ended up doing a lot of our own cooking this year to save some money and decided to buy a few knives to use while there. In our opinion the area of Napili Bay is the best location on Maui. You don't have the crowds and bustle of Kihei or Lahania - but they're both close enough when you're ready for that! The north-west part of Maui offers the best snorkeling on the island, much of it in Napili Bay or the two neighbouring bays Honokeana or Kapalua - couldn't be closer. This year we gave up waiting for 30 - 45 minutes to get into the Gazebo restaurant (right next door in Honokeana Cove) for breakfast (holiday time is way too precious to be standing waiting to get into a restaurant). Instead we went to the other end of Napili Bay to the Sea House Restaurant which is part of the Napili Kai resort. We were surprised to find excellent value (breakfast for two $20), outstanding service, and delicious food. All of this with no wait to get in and an outstanding ocean front view. There are cheaper places to stay on Maui, but if you're looking in the Napili area for an ocean front condo, you'd be hard pressed to find better value. We've done lots of looking around at similar units and the Napili Bay still comes out ahead of many others. Mahalo!

The Aloha Condos were great. This was the first time we had stayed in a place other than a hotel and have found that to be a great experience. Hotels will definitely be our second choice from here on. Theproperty was very nice, fairly secluded and right on a beautiful beach. We had a great time watching turtles swimming in the bay, although the snorkleing was a little better down the road. Swimmming was great and we got the chance to see an amazing rainbow from our deck! Didn't find any eating places nearby that were overly impressive so it was nice to have a kitchen available.

We selected this condo because of our son's island wedding on July 7, 2007. Not only was that a very lucky number for us, it proved to be a paradise of casual Hawaii with the beachfront location, complete with the rolling waves, gentle breezes, and fabulous view. From our first positive impression with a gift of Hawaiian fruit, candies and nuts, this was a perfect spot for several families to gather. The manager, Lee, was always very courteous and friendly and made us feel very welcome, especially with our nightly gatherings at the grill area for family meals and fun. The grounds were also well groomed and tidy. The private beach access found us loving the ocean waves and an uncrowded, uncluttered beach for sunning, strolling, and exploring. We will definitely return in the future, hoping to find the condo facility as clean and as well kept as before! It was a perfect getaway, with all the comforts of home, and then some! And there is easy access to a small shopping mall nearby. The only drawback was limited parking, but the place was full, which is a good indicator of a visitor's satisfaction to Napili Bay Resort, one away from the more tourist-driven ones. Our experience there enabled all of us to feel the Aloha spirit.

This was our third stay at Napili Bay (first time in this unit). We have always stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach (in 1999, 2001, and 2008). We love the view and sleeping to the sound of the ocean. The beach is a perfect, beautiful, calm crescent. The units are simple, but more than adequate for our needs. They may not be elegant, but are well-stocked with the basics one needs to live comfortably. There is no need for A/C, given the constant breeze off the ocean. In general it is a quiet, family-friendly area, but the locals enjoy this stretch of beach as well, and one night we were kept up until the early morning by some folks hanging out in front of the property (all beaches in Hawaii are public property - so this might be a problem wherever one stayed). This was the first time we knew about the gazebo restaraunt two properties down the beach. They have the best breakfast food I have ever eaten - and the long lines to prove it! Do not miss it!!

We especially enjoy the fact that this condo is RIGHT on the beach and literally a stones throw from the ocean. The condo when clean and in good repair and had great views of the area. We enjoyed morning walks near the well known local golf course and the Pineapple plantation area. One suggestion; it would be nice if the Lanai furniture had bar stools rather than regular chairs since the existing chairs are too low to sit on and see over the lanai wall.

There is some great "fast-food" nearby & some first-class restaurants a short drive away. This is a wonderful convenience for us! I also like having a coin washer & dryer available for the guests as our stay is usually 2 weeks. It makes the packing much lighter! Every comfort of home, in a setting so beautiful that no picture can do it justice. Your eyes just have to see it. Located on the second floor, it offers a wonderful view of the beach and ocean, nothing blocking the view. The property is small, so not too crowded or much noise. Everything was so clean and well kept from the parking lot, to the beach itself, and of course the inside of the unit. If you enjoy low key beaches, being near, but not IN the "night life", and having a place that really feels like you live there...this is the place for you. Can't say enough about it, even wrote a review on TripAdvisor.com about how much we love it. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon in Aug. of 2007.
