Maui Kai Beach Resort

What others are saying about Maui Kai Beach Resort condos

Very Pleasant Unit

Got to vacation here 12/31/11 - 01/05/12. Great escape from the snow & cold of alaska! Unit is clean, well appointed, secure and easy to find. Especially appreciated the beach amenities - umbrella, cooler and snorkel gear - and very comfortable bed. Saw lots of whales in the channel as well as an occasional turtle below and even a pod of dolphins! The "resort" itself had a nice grilling area and even a small pool available. Grocery store nearby. Only did 1 meal "out" @ the Java Jazz restaurant - mediocre for us - would not bother going back there. Wished we had gone to the Gazebo, just a little ways up the road instead. Highlight of the vacation was visiting Little Beach Sunday Night - only for the open minded tho - and doing a zip line @ Piiholo Ranch. Not cheap but very safe and fun! Biggest drawback was finding a place nearby to snorkel / park. Owners take excellent care of their home - we tried to do the same - enjoy!

Probably the best place I've ever stayed in Maui

Unit #108 was the best vacation I've had in Maui after many, many visits to the Island. I've stayed in both the fancy and not-so-fancy places and found the Maui Kai to be about the best. The location is terrific and if you want to be just steps from the beach this is the place for you. It has all the comfort of home and is well-stocked with kitchen utensils if you prefer cooking in the unit. The unit itself is very comfortable with seating on the lanai for ocean viewing and whale watching, tv's in both the bedroom and living room and quite comfortable furniture. Also provided are beach chairs, a cooler, and beach towels along with the basics to get started, such as t.paper, paper towels, spices, etc. The condo has a swimming pool for those days when the wind is too strong to lie in the sand. If you have any problems they have access to a wonderful maid service and she's right there for anything you might need. The condo, although not affiliated with the owners of this unit, are helpful as well. You can get free coffee in the morning and pick up a newspaper and great postcards there too. Convenience is unsurpassed as well. You can walk right next door to an upscale resort for music and cocktails or walk up and down a long stretch of beautiful beach. There is a full grocery store just a minute's drive away and loads of eatery's all around. Lahaina town is only a few minutes drive and where you'll find all the shopping and bars and restaurants you'll ever want. My favorite part of the entire experience was the ability to just walk out the door and be on the beach. No going in and out of lobby's or up and down elevators. Just out the door and on the beach! Quite wonderful! Thank you for a fantastic experience.

Perfect!

For my wife and I, this really was the perfect place to stay on Maui. We were a little surprised at how small the condo seemed when we first arrived, but then we were also surprised that it really didn't matter. We had everything that we needed. The Condo was more than comfortable. The location was more than stunning. While we did not see any whales from our window, (it was just a little late in the season) we did see a huge sea turtle swim by. Amazing! The sound of the surf at night was hypnotic. You are so close to the waves that you'll have to close the windows if you want to hear the tv. The condo is not part of the Maui Kai's "service", so you're a little bit of an outsider, but the office staff were still helpful and courteous, and you have access to all of the amenities except daily maid service. If you are looking for a great economical place to stay, and you are a little independant and don't need the pampering of a high end resort, this is a heavenly option!
