Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club

What others are saying about Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club condos

Perfect place for a week on the Big Island

We enjoyed our week at #176 immensely. Check-in was trivially easy. We found the condo perfectly clean and bug-free and well-furnished for our needs. The ocean just outside our window, an ideal mall 2 blocks away in one direction and the best snorkeling beach 2 blocks away in the other direction. Let's see, what can I say on the negative side for objectivity's sake? disfunctional wine opener (we replaced it), couldn't get 1 of the 2 LR CD- players to work (just needed an instruction book), 1 of the 5 closets had jammed doors (wouldn't have used it anyway). We're now eager to return to the Big Island and hope to stay in #176 again.

Truly Paradise & Little Things Mean A lot!!

This is not our first trip to the Big Island and have stayed in several Condos before but this was by far the best! From the lovely guest basket / shampoo & conditioner upon arrival to the numerous amenities , that were provided we couldn't have asked for a better place. We truly only needed a bathing suit and groceries. The unit was clean, and extremely quiet and peaceful. Tastefully decorated. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels, ice chests and UMBRELLA!!! Nicely stocked pantry as well!! We spent every morning and evening on the Lanai. Numerous whale and dolphin sightings right in our private backyard! We BBQ fresh fish every night and enjoyed the beautiful ambience of unobstructed ocean view. Just 1/4 mile to best snorkel beach in Kona, you just couldn't ask for more. We were there for the Tsunami scare and impressed with the responsiveness of the caretakers. Hope to be there same time same place next year!! Only thing we didn't like was having to come home!! First time in Hawaii - great digs and super location

The Townhome was everything we expected. Since it was our first time in Hawaii we were excited to stay close / right on the ocean. We could hear the waves as they rolled in. To our surprise we saw whales right there in front of our Townhome. The neighbors were friendly as well as helpful. I found out that a whale breached some 20+ times right out in front of the Townhome. Prior to visiting I really appreciated the quick and complete response I received when I asked questions. We snorkeled for the first time at a nearby beach. When snorkeling we used the body-boards provided. They really helped. The layout met our needs and the kitchen was well equipped. It was a great 5 days!

Beautiful apartment, good base to explore Big Island

The apartment fulfilled all our expectations. Beautiful view, big windows, nice furniture, clean! There is no beach on the property. The pool is not too attractive. With a car most attractions are in reach. Kailua Kona is a very busy town, but the apartment is beautiful and relaxing. The apartment was a good base for us to explore the Island. We drove up to Manuna Loa for the sunset, which was great. Most impressive was the Manta Dive with Kona Honu Divers. The helicopter ride with Paradise Helicopters over the Volcano out of Hilo was great too (have the doors removed!). Bubba Gump is the place for diner in Kailua. Whalewatching is a must too (between Jan. and April).

Perfect Place for Total Rest and Relaxation.

This Condo is great. Loved the Location and layout. Great lanai for a relaxing breakfast, or just sitting having cocktails and watching the Breathtaking Sunsets. Watching the whales (when in season) and the dolphins. Loved being on the ocean and hearing the surf as it lulled us to sleep. Keep the doors open on the lanai all night to hear the surf. Steve was wonderful to deal with and Thank you for sharing this great condo with us. The grounds are beautiful, and a perfect Location for this unit. Sometimes we just stayed there all day and couldn't leave our lanai. Can't wait to go back and we will definately be staying here at 2-203. Mahalo again Steve for renting this out so others can enjoy you slice of Heaven. Al & Jo-Ann

Whales and relaxation

This was our second time around in two years at this unit. Jan to March is the best time to watch the whales off the lanai - one day we probably counted over 20 different "spouts" - the whales and their calves spend the winter every year just off the coast in the Kailua-Kona area. The location of the condo in Keahou is great - it's quiet enough at the Surf & Racquet club to relax and just a 10 drive or so up Alii drive to Huggo's or Lulu's or Bongo Billy's to have some fun and great food if you don't feel like using the kitchen or grill's just down the stairs. The place is private, clean, comfortable and has everything you could need for the perfect vacation.

In two words.."Too Short"

We had the added pleasure of viewing whales passing in front of our condo and one night or early am (it was still dark) we were awakened by a series of slapping sounds and obvious whales blowing air/water as they passed very close to shore. It was cool!

A home away from home in paradise

Absolutely perfect! The condo was COMPLETELY stocked and in a most private location. The grounds staff was so helpful and kind and did a great job keeping everything lush and beautiful. The condo was so inviting and comfortable for our family (3 adults & 3 young children). But it would also make a very romantic escape, minus the kids. We rarely return to the same place twice so that we can experience new places. This is one exception. With out a doubt we would go back again and again. Listening to the surf lull you to sleep and watching whales from the lanai were just two of the many incredible things we enjoyed here. They had everything you would at home from beach and snorkel gear to office supplies and laundry dryer sheets, it's all here! We really appreciated the welcome basket, it was nice to have local farmers market items like fresh fruits and muffins to hold us over until we could get to the store. If you are considering staying here, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Check out the blowholes along the shore just a minute walk towards the golf course, during high tide the water really shoots up!

Great Condo

Everything was as described in the ad, right on the ocean. It is a ways from Kona but we found that was fine as there really isn't much to do in Kona anyway, just a lot of souvenir shops. There is a mall close by for any groceries or other things you may need. We didn't find the lack of A/C an issue as the breeze at night cooled things off. Very nice condo, the only thing we didn't like was the laminate flooring in the bathrooms seemed dingy. Not sure why they wouldn't have just extended the tile into the bathrooms, but that was a minor issue.

Stunning Location, Pounding Waves, Cultural Presence

Aloha Condos was prompt and efficient in processing our reservation. The unit was in good condition and the location was incomparable: you could get splashed by the surf on the lava rocks just sitting on your lanai. It's a short drive into Kona town and it was handy to have the shopping center, cinema, and post office a short walk up the hill. Just a heads-up, the directions we received from Aloha were backwards on the turn onto Alii; (should've said left, not right). We ended up in the shopping center, but figured it out from there. Also, we had no idea that lots of beach stuff was stored under the stairs (did we miss a note somewhere?), so ended up buying some items we didn't need. Right outside the door is a significant historical cultural site, a reminder of the highly structured indigenous society which preceded corporate dominance of the islands.
