Fantastic!!!

We stayed in condo 2-302 and the views were absolutely stunning. We loved the location near Kona and the privacy the condo afforded. It was spacious and gorgeous with all the decorations making it a very relaxing stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location

This condo is in a great location with beautiful views. My family and I stayed here for Ironman weekend. It was a great size for us. A few issues - when we arrived, the air conditioner was off, and the controller had been locked up in the owner's closet, so we had to call Marcia (who was great and very responsive!) to come out and get it for us. We were paying for AC, so the controller should have been out. In addition, we only had 2 wash cloths for 3 people. We were told more wash cloths must have been in the owner's closet, but we just ended up buying some cheap ones to use. The bedrooms had no lighting other than dim bedside lamps, so once the sun went down, you were basically with no light in the rooms. There needs to be floor lamps or something in these rooms to help with that. Other than these things, the condo was great for what we needed. less

Great place is a stunning view

We loved our stay at this condo. The panoramic view and shaded deck were enjoyed often. The location is close to stores and restaurants. It's a short walk to once of the best snorkeling beaches in Hawaii. We really enjoyed our stay!

Outstanding!

We have stayed in this unit a number of times over the years and we think it’s great. The complex is beautiful and this unit is very nice and well appointed.

Spectacular Condo and Views

My sister and I loved staying in this beautiful condo! There is lots of space, the beds were comfortable and the view is spectacular! The location is convenient to shopping, restaurants and a 10 minute walk to a great snorkeling and surfing beach. We would definitely stay here again. less

Lovely sunsets

We enjoyed our stay at this unit. The location is spectacular overlooking the ocean and it was wonderful watching the beautiful sunsets every night. We were very comfortable but felt that it could benefit from a few updates and a general refresh. The unit was very clean, beds were comfortable and it was well equipped with beach chairs, towels and umbrella. less

Hawaii

The condos were nice with a few exceptions. The front door lock needs repair and the A/C never really cooled off one of the bedrooms The views were wonderfu and the place was clean

Keauhou Kona Sur & Racquet Club , Condo 2-302, resv. #78939

Beautiful , wakeing up to the ocean sounds pounding against the rocks day and nite, watching the beautiful sunset, the birds singing, we had courageous vacation staying in the condo. I will come back to stay there again. I gave it a 4 cause condo was warm everything was shut , try to use the air con. , unable to figure out how to use it, no mention in the note book how to turn it on. Called mangers Bruce he sent a tex to call Marsha I called left a message.. Then talk with Marsha said we have to pay then someone will drop remote, I said we already payed , long story short no remote couldn’t use air condition. Bathroom #1 no toilet paper, no supplies, bathroom #2 only 1 roll. That was irritating spending for a expensive condo that didn’t have the supplies , had to run to KTA to get some . Laundry soap had enough for 2 loads . The note book reads , we had to replace what we use but there wasn’t much to use in the first place. We had to wash towels during the week and before we leave and beds are to be stripped and left at washer. I get it paying cleaning fee isn’t that part of stocking supplies when new renters chk in . There should have someone to chk condo day before new renters chk in . In all will recommend your condo to friends. Big mahalo! Leinette less

What A View!

This condo did not disappoint--the view from the lanai was absolutely worth the booking. A short drive to the conveniences of Kona: shopping, restaurants, shave ice (One Aloha). Would absolutely book again.

— Steve, Stayed 04/06/2022

Fantastic locationc

Fantastic view of the ocean. Watching for whales and spinner dolphins was always in the back of your mind as you had a meal on the Lanai or were just relaxing.

— Steven, Stayed 03/27/2022

Absolutely stunning!

The condo was absolutely STUNNING! You can’t ask for a closer condo to the ocean, cleaner space, modern amenities and beautiful shared space on the entire island of Hawaii. I am so glad we booked this trip as a headquarters for a surprise birthday for my mom who was staying at a local resort. She loved enjoying her birthday dinner on the balcony and now looks forward to renting the space for an entire month sometime in 2023! Will definitely be back. less

Perfect Retreat!

Our family enjoyed a 9 day stay at this perfectly located condo on the Big Island. The oceanfront view is stunning. The accommodations were comfortable and we had everything we needed during our stay. Everyone had their own space (2 grown-ups and 2 teens). Perfect. We were able to relax, restore, and get out to experience the island. Our first Christmas away from home was amazing! Bruce was very accommodating to our needs. We'll be back! less

The BEST Unit in the whole complex

This was our third or fourth stay in this unit. We always feel so lucky to have scored a vacation here. Unobstructed views directly on the ocean greet us when we arrive. Clearly the owners live in this condo as there is EVERYTHING a person could need stocked. So many thoughtful touches throughout, convenience and comfort at the forefront. It is so easy to become at home in this unit. less

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay! The condo is beautiful, and well stocked. Views are amazing. Sounds of ocean waves are soothing. Bruce was very accommodating and easy to work with. Fantastic experience!

Fantastic stay at Keauhou Surf & Racquet condo 2-302

We have stayed at the Keauhou Surf & Racquet club many times but this was our first visit to unit 2-302. This was a fantastic unit and the owner was extremely gracious and easy to work with. The condo was very clean, well appointed, the beds re very comfortable and the views were simply amazing. I without question would highly recommend this condo. The view alone is worth the price of admission :-) less

Beautiful, spacious condo

The directions to reach the condo and to get in are clear and easy to use. It sits overlooking the shore with a huge lanai with gorgeous sunset views. The kitchen is well appointed with cooking utensils, pots & pans, small appliances, etc. We do a lot of our own cooking and had no difficulty making anything we wanted, and the nearby supermarket had all the ingredients and a good array of poke and prepared foods as well. The notes, tips and instructions left by the owners are helpful & clear, but the initial email speaks of using the dedicated parking space for the condo; the owners keep a car there, so just use the adjacent visitors' parking, which is abundant. We saw an air conditioning unit, but there were no instructions about its use, so use windows and ceiling fans to keep the place comfortable; in early September (2021), there was frequent afternoon clouds that made it easier to keep the lanai doors open to keep things cool. less

Beautiful Sunset View

Aloha! This condo was perfect for me and my family of four. The stunning sunset views from the balcony were amazing! It was a bit warm for our stay in August but we’re able to purchase the daily air conditioning. It didn’t reach the loft but there were plenty of fans available in the condo. We all had a comfortable stay. It’s also in a great location with a quick drive into the Kona area. Bruce and Vicki always responded quickly to our needs and issues. We would definitely stay hear again! less

Kona million dollar view

This condo has a million-dollar view. You cannot beat the view you get from the lanai at this rental. The master bedroom shares the lanai and view. You can leave your sliding glass open and let the sound of the ocean lull you to sleep! There was ample room for our family with the 2 bedrooms and loft. We also really appreciated the washer/dryer in the unit and the well-appointed kitchen. The only complaint we have would be that there was no air conditioning in the condo - this was not promised or advertised. I imagine that this is not an issue for most of the year, but we happened to be there on multiple days with 80+ degree weather that was super hot and sticky. The ceiling fans and floor-to-ceiling sliders helped, but AC would be a huge plus! Leaving the windows open, there were some critters (giant ants, regular ants, and mosquitos) that we had to deal with, but that is part of being in the tropics and the windows all had functioning screens. less

— Heather, Stayed 07/31/2021

Amazing view!

We loved our vacation in paradise! The condo is spacious enough for our family to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and evening sunsets. We loved the high ceilings and the kitchen was stocked to enjoy our morning coffee and family dinners. Excellent location for daily adventures up and down the Kona coast. We will be back! Thank you! less

We really enjoyed Condo 2-302

We had a great time in Condo 2-302. The nightly sunsets were stunning from the third-floor lanai that is only 70 feet from the ocean. The unit was clean, inviting, very well equipped, and quiet, except for the mesmerizing sound of the ocean surf. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the bathrooms were clean and updated. The Surf and Racquet Club grounds were absolutely beautiful, with tropical plantings and landscaping that rival botanical gardens. Great snorkeling was found at a beach less than a mile away, a good grocery store is within walking distance, and the town is reachable in about 15 minutes by car. We highly recommend a stay in this beautiful condo; we will plan to return whenever we can. less

Wonderful stay on the Big Island Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club, Condo 2-302

We had such a wonderful stay at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club, Condo 2-302. This is 3rd floor beach front condo with a beautiful breeze that flows through the unit. Watching the turquoise waves crashing from the lanai was mesmerizing. We were fortunate enough to see whales and spinner dolphins as well. I would highly recommend this unit, it was very quiet except for the waves crashing against the lava rocks which helped us relax and get the best night sleep ever. Definitely a 5 rating! less

Perfection

We loved our nine days at the condo. The third floor view, the comfortable amenities, the extra room, the location, the pool, the beautiful landscaping and the easy communication with management all made our trip memorable and beautiful. We watched whales from the lanai, looked at the moon through the palm trees, walked to coffee and delicious dinners at the nearby shopping center and to a perfect snorkeling beach nearby in the mornings. Can't recommend this unit enough. We will definitely be back. less

2-302

You have a lovely condo. We loved the time spent on the lanai and very much appreciated the beach toys. The condo design is superb. It was very roomy with loads of storage space and easily accommodated all six adults. The beds/linens were comfy and the two baths were ideal. We also appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit. The community pool was beautiful with nice lounge chairs and adequate size for actual swimming for those inclined. The pool water was not heated but was warmed well enough by the sun. Per your request, for constructive criticism, we submit the following: -Six beach towels were supposed to be available. We could only find two, luckily some in our group brought their own. But if other visitors are counting on these items, they will be disappointed. -Two coolers were supposed to be available. We could only find one. Luckily we only needed the one. But again, if other visitors are counting on this item.... -We were down to two rolls of toilet paper on day three of our seven day trip. We called to request more and regret doing so. We were told the amount supplied should be enough. The next day two additional rolls were supplied. However, we knew this would be inadequate and simply purchased more ourselves. It was implied we planned an expensive trip to Hawaii simply to steal toilet paper. I assure you, we would not have requested more if we hadn't needed it. -A lamp switch in the living room was non functioning. We tried the light bulb in the other lamp and it worked fine. Repairs are needed. This was reported in a note we left with Marcia. -The master bath shower door has been broken. We were informed of this when we arrived. However, you should know that it needs immediate repair. When attempting to slide the door, glass continues to fall. I had to pick up several pieces while in bare feet. -The kitchen is in need of many basic elements. Items we needed for food prep that were not available at all include: measuring cups, measuring spoons, whisk and paring knife. All knives need sharpening. The can opener provided doesn't work well at all and should be replaced. It would also be nice if a Brita water filter was provided. I realize that many visitors will not clean the pots and pans very well. This required me to thoroughly scrub almost every item before we could use it. And I mean scrub! But the baking sheet was beyond help. It needs to be replaced. The kitchen is the only poorly designed aspect of the condo. Attempting to find a pot or pan that may or may not be available required getting down on our hands and knees and using the flashlight on our phones to search the deep dark crevices of the cabinets. The remodel of your kitchen clearly did not include the cabinets and the use of lazy Susans. That said, we enjoyed the use of the condo and would consider a return trip if for no other reason than the indulgence of the ocean front view and watching the waves crash into the rocks. less

Great Location

Great location and condo for a family vacation, or just 2 of you. Well appointed. Right on the water. Just a note, like most condos in Kona, there us no AC. However, there are plenty of fans to help cool you off. Would definitely book again. less

Beautiful location

This was our third stay at the Keauhou Surf and Racquer Club, and our third different unit. The facility and location are great. We love being on the waterfront, and going to sleep to the sound of the surf every night. Condo 2-302 is a three bedroom unit, which we needed as there were six of us from three generations. Generally, the unit was very nice. The kitchen was very good (though the dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils were mostly quite dirty, so we had multiple dishwasher loads before using them), the bathrooms were also very nice; I think they had been updated, as the building itself is probably close to thirty years old. The furniture is a bit out of date, though comfotable. Considering that there is a substantial surcharge for more than four people, it would have been nice to have six chairs in the dining room (and one of the four that were there was broken). Also, we were told just a couple of weeks before our arrival that there was a phone in the unit, and gave the number out so that we could be reached. However, when we arrived, there was no phone, and the local contact told us that it had been disconnected and removed some time ago. However, these minor irritations did nothing to detract from a great vacation in a beautiful place. We will definitely be back! less

Beautiful ocean view but western exposure uncomfortably hot

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this unit during the first week of September. As the photographs show, the unit has a stupendous view of the ocean. The unit also is tucked well off the road, so very quiet. It is well-equipped, including with beach gear, and the beds are comfortable. The pool in the complex is nice. On the downside, we were extremely hot, as high temperatures were in the upper 80s and the breeze was light to non-existent. Due to the western exposure, the sun would come blazing into the unit by lunchtime, turning it into a sauna until after sundown. I normally prefer fans to air conditioning, and there were many fans in the unit, but they were barely sufficient. Sleeping in the loft during that time would have been intolerable. Fortunately, our group was small enough that we didn't need to use the upstairs bed. In a cooler time of year, I'm sure the unit is much more pleasant all around. Other items of note: -- The water from the tap has an unpleasant flavor, which is unfortunate if you're trying to avoid the plastic waste caused by buying bottled water. -- Walking in the area is not great. Although many people bike and walk on Ali'i Drive, they use the shoulder of the pavement, which is not separated from traffic. The street is busy. -- We discovered that the screen of the kitchen window was bent, as if someone had tried to break in. We wanted to open the window for a cross breeze but the broken screen posed a security risk. Before we left, I informed the owner and his on-site representative by email. Initially, I received no reply but after I sent a second message, the owner answered that repairs were underway. less

Condo 2-302

We liked this condo very much. The kitchen was extremely well appointed (other than a broken can opener, which was nothing) and the condo was nicely decorated. It was clean and well kept and the beds were very comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the carpet. I don't care for carpet, difficult to keep clean and hard to keep rugs on. That said, I would consider renting this condo again if I was going to the Kona Coast. Also, the grounds and surrounding areas of the condo were very well kept. less

The condo location is wonderful as this is the side of the island we love most! The condo itself is well accommodating, however, could use some updates. The lani is where we began and ended our days. It's remarkable!! There's plenty of oscillating fans to help circulate the air for those humid days and easily accommodates 6 people. If we're blessed to visit the island again, we'd love to stay here again! Thank you to the Shamps and all who help to make this place great! less

Love this Place

This is our 2nd trip to the Big Island and our 2nd time at the Surf and Racquet club. We returned to this resort for its location, beautiful grounds, and great accommodations. The resort has many amenities for a family to enjoy. Our Condo, 2-302, was exceptional, we enjoyed everything from a great kitchen to prepare meals, a comfortable living space, comfortables beds, and a view you can't find anywhere else on the planet! The pictures do not do it justice, adding the ocean breeze and sound of the waves, the beautiful blue sea and the sun can't help to make any day into a wonderful experience. Coming back from a great day on the island and enjoying a great meal on the 3rd floor lanai watching the sunset, it doesn't get any better. The location is so close to many incredible experiences, including a simple walk to Kahaluu beach, where there is fantastic snorkeling, cliff jumping at EOW, Captain Cook and Kealakekua bay, two-step and the city of refuge. North to fantastic golden sand beaches, or south to South Point's black and green sand beaches. There are so many great activities in reach from this location. Bruce and his family have added many personal touches to their home away from home and made for a wonderful experience for our family. We will return to the Big Island once again and and will certainly have 2-302 first on our list. Thanks Again Bruce. less

Relaxing family week

Nice family get-together, perfect location and peaceful setting. Opening the windows and letting the breeze flow was enjoyable. Ability to use the community Bar-B-Q was great for dinners. The third floor view and waking to the sounds of crashing waves was my highlight. Leaving Kona in the 70s and arriving in Seattle in the 20s is a shock to the system more ways than one. We look forward to our next visit. Mahalo less

We love the Big Island

We had a great time at our stay in the condo. The condo was beautifully decorated, roomy and well-supplied. We really appreciated having beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards available to us. The views from this condo are breathtaking, and you are within a couple miles of good beaches and snorkeling to the north. The week we were there was hot, and wished we had A/C on the last day The condo has many fans, and overall, that helped a lot; however, we had one day that was very hot and no trade winds...Overall, we the condo and amenities were great. less

Outstanding Accomodations

Wonderful Condo and owners. The location is perfect, the complex is one of the best in Keauhou. We have stayed in this complex 5 times before and the first to this Condo. Condo is well appointed and worked well for our family of 6. The washer and dryer broke just before we arrived and was not able to be replaced during our two week stay. It was a bit inconvenient, but those things happen and the owners were very fare in reimbursing us for the times we had to drop the laundry off in Kona for wash and fold. It all worked out fine. We love the area and this is a great place to stay. less

— R. Michael, Stayed 09/01/2017

Dreams are made of this...

We have rented ocean front units at Keauhou Kona Surf for many years, but this was a return visit after a lapse of 20 years. This unit was wonderfully appointed, down to the hair dryers, comfortable beds, beach chairs, and the view. Turquoise, clear water and in early March, we literally had humpbacks hopping, tail slapping and fluking right in front of the lanai. This may answer the question, why go to Hawaii if you live in Florida. Whales! We found the unit and the property to be in excellent condition and the location is near Kailua Town, shopping and the best snorkle beach on the island, even for small children. The landscaping was wonderful too. There are so many must do things on the Big Island that we find it like all of the other islands combined. We flew over the volcano, Hilo and the Hamakua Coast. Chartered a fishing boat, hiked in Volcano National Park and brunched at Mauna Kea Resort (Sunday only). We found the island as we left it 20 years ago and are eager to return. Mahalo to our hosts, Bruce and Vicki less

Lovely Lanai

We had three couples staying here and all had adequate privacy with a large pleasant living area. The Lanai has a great view of the ocean where we watched whales playing every day. Adequate kitchen, though a bit outdated, provided enough space to cook for a large party. less

Even though the unit is a little dated it is in good shape. Nicely furnished, great spot on the ocean, not to far from downtown, nice pool and tennis courts, very nice deck. So much so, I have already booked it for next year.

Wow what a view!

Wow the first thing u notice when u walk in this place is the view, is it ever beautiful! My favorite part was sitting on the Lani have breakfast with my kids and watching the dolphins play in the water... life dosnt get much better. All the accommodations were great very comfortable beds and everything worked great. Our only 2 small issues were the pack and play we had asked if they had, was broken ( I assume the owners would have no idea about this and why would they since they probably never use it) just including it here so future renters have an idea that although one was available I wouldn't put my baby in it cause the bottom gave out often. But it wasn't an inconvenience as the master bedroom is large and there was plenty of room for him to sleep with us! Our 2nd issue again somthing that couldn't at the moment be cleared up by the owner but I'm sure was resolved shortly after our stay. As the condo association had just finished pool repairs they decided to change the pool locks, so our key to the pool did not work and we would have to hope someone would let us in anytime we went down there. ( just about any people staying in a vacation rental had this problem) so overall our experience was great and would defanitly visit again ( just Mabey when it's not so hot hahaha! ) less

Upon entering the condo we noticed the following The front door lock was not working, had to manipulate the lock Louvered window has no screen, cannot get air flow Lack of table fans for additional cooling Tears in the room dividing rice paper screens Rips in screen doors out to the Lanai and screens continually falling off their tracks Upstairs windows not functional and have no screens Window shades in second bedroom dirty and rusting out at the bottom General cleanliness not up to par, especially with a $350 cleaning fee Dishwasher did not work some of the time Kitchen garbage can broken top Collection of towels, sheets, cups, glasses, dishes is not updated or consistent When these issues were discussed with Bruce, he was empathetic, and explained that it was to bad that we chose to stay before his yearly scheduled maintenance, as of this writing no monetary refund offered PS our party rented three other condos in this complex during this stay and 2-302 was priced similarly and yet overall quality was lower less

Owner/Manager Response

Dear Mark. As I shared with you when you first contacted us about the high heat and the frustrations springing from that, and other smaller but important issues, that I would be coming in immediately following your visit. This is one of our frequent owners inspections we do each year( up to 4) as part of our commitment to keep our home away from home in stellar condition. The following is what we found and forwarding the report to you.   1) Heat frustration: yes, during the iron man this year it was the hottest year Ever on record! (Over 90 plus in the shade!!) Plus the trade winds were unusually low. The result was VERY uncomfortable conditions for everyone on the Islands during that time! As you know we have first class ceiling fans in every bedroom and on the Lani itself. Your concerns about air flow and air cooling were beyond our control. We have owed our condo from the 1990's and have NEVER had a complaint on this issue. Only hundreds of praises. But it is very true that this year was just an unbelievable record HOT! I know you told me that you thought it was a type of "false advertising " but it very clear in the property description that it does not offer air conditioning. Not in all our many years have we ever needed it or or have a complaint about it. We believe, from what we have learned from you and what we have now observed first hand that this very uncomfortable condition led to a less than " happy" time putting a negative feel experience on everything else. Non the less I will report to you what we found in the other areas stated. 2) front door lock. Works perfect if you know which way to turn it 3) louvered window. Operating as designed. But does require. The normal trade wind breezes to be most effective. 4) Table fans: we do not provide table fans as they are not normally needed. We did not find the ones you say you used. Perhaps you took them with you. NEVER had a concern or a complaint like this before. Something for us to consider to have on hand for the future. 5) Screens off tracks : the screens were on the tracks when you arrived. Our cleaning/maintenance person reported to us that she did find a screen off the track and a small tear at the bottom of one. They were put back on and we have an appointment On Nov 12 for the damage incurred to be repaired. 6) Small tear in rice paper wall: yes we are aware of that .. Thanks. That little flaw has been there since we bought the unit in the 90's . It is so minor, in our minds that it has not been addressed . And we have never had an complaint about it. This is the first and perhaps it's time to consider replacement. Vicki and I are making that decision this week. Thanks for the input . 7) Dishwasher: Is the LG delux. Best money can buy. It's one year old and works perfect "if" directions of operation are followed well. Since we put it in last year we have had no complaints, just good service. 8)Kitchen garbage can; yes we did inspect and were able to find a small hair line crack on one edge of the lip of the lid. Don't know when it happened, but good constructive help. Thanks , it will be easy to fix or replace . 9) Window shades:, We found to be all working and in decent shape, especially considering they are on the ocean!! We had those scheduled for possible replacement every 5 years which would make that next year. We think they are still pretty good, but now based on you constructive suggestion, we are having a professional blind person coming  in next week to make recommendations to us. It's possible we could expedite the replacement process this year. 10) Towels, sheets, cups, glasses, dishes. : We found them to be fully stocked as always, and ready to go. Another area that we have never had a complaint in. Fact is that the cupboards are so full, that we cannot even get anymore stuff in them if we wanted to!! 11) cleanliness; When we arrived we were very pleased with all the issues of cleanliness and sanitation. It is possible that our cleaning lady may have done a " specially " good job because she may have got wind that we ( the owners) were coming in! We have had her for 5-6 years and that has NEVER been her M.O.  But it is still possible. It might be noted that my wife Vicki is a total clean freak, and cleanliness is by far her strong suit and she was pleased with all she inspected. 12) Toilets : you mentioned that they were not operating right and would not shut off. We have now been here two weeks and they are working perfectly , but will keep our eyes and ears open as we will be here for two more weeks to do everything possible to keep our home away from home in top primo condition. As far as our business relationship goes (a ) thanks for your stay. Nothing seems to be done bad to our condo and was left I good condition other than Normal wear and tear little stuff (b) It is our opinion and observation that the extreme record heat, and without air conditioning ( that NO units in the Surf and Racquet Club condos have) put a real negative spin on your time here. I totally understand that, and so sorry. It might be interesting to and FYI that the clients who stayed right before you had nothing but top praise for our unit and there stay! Just delighted  Future: With this kinda negative cloud you have from your experience here, it might be good ( in all due respect) to consider a different unit next time with air conditioning, just in case. We think it would problably be best for all. Sincere thanks again for your stay! We are grateful for both your patronage And your constructive suggestions. I know we ( Vicki and I ) will be better for it!! Mahalo!  Bruce & Vicki, Owners

Very nice condo

The things I LOVED about this condo were the lanai (couldn't be better), the comfort of the bed in master bedroom, the layout, condo was well stocked (including groceries, DVDs, beach chairs and towels), the TV channel selection was good including Netflix, and the location of the resort. The master bath was in need of some updating although it was very functional. Personally, I think that the number and size of the artificial plants in the unit made it seem crowded and dated. All in all the rental was a very good value and my family enjoyed our stay. less

Spacious, well maintained condo with beautiful view. We hope to return soon.

We were with extended family for a large Thanksgiving get together. My family really enjoyed this condo, but the whole property was perfect for such an event. Our extended family rented 2 other condo's on the property and they were happy with them as well. With the pool, tennis court and outdoor pavilion (equipped with 3 grills), it was a fun and relaxing place to stay with multiple generations - all had a great time. less

Lovely Hawaiian Condo and Setting

We stayed two weeks in Condo 2-302 and had a great time. We love Keauhou, and love being on the ocean. Love breakfast and dinner on the deck watching the waves crashing on the shore and watching various canoes and boats going by, and the sunsets can be stunning, especially with a hurricane going by. This ambiance is the reason we come to Hawaii. Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has a reasonable swimming pool with both shallow and deep ends, and tennis courts. We like to walk along the rough rocky shore and out to the beach along the Heritage Renewal Project and look for turtles. Also, there are many hibiscus and different types of palm tress to enjoy. It is a short walk to a public snorkeling beach as well as a short walk to the Keauhou grocery store and shops. The condo is fully equipped with the necessary kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes and utensils. The bathrooms were adequate and the condo had a very nice new washer and dryer. We liked the tropical motif- rattan furniture and tropical prints and decorations. We will stay here again. less

Very comfortable - great view

We spent 6 nights in Condo 2-302 at the Keahou Kona Surf and Racquet Club and thoroughly enjoyed it. The view was beautiful - palm trees framing the ocean, nightly sunsets, and occassional boat traffic to watch go by, including the canoe races on Labor Day Weekend. We were there during a particularly hot spell, but the fans and large sliding glass doors to the lanai kept the place cool enough. We loved going to sleep hearing the sound of the waves against the shore. The condo was very well equipped with anything we might need, including wif-fi, and we really liked having a lot of space to spread out in. We would love to return! We did not use any of the Surf and Racquet Club's amenities (such as the swimming pool), so cannot comment on these. Some may prefer to be closer to Kona Town, which has a lot of tourist shops and more dinner options than the Keauhou area, but we found the Surf and Racquet Club's location very convenient. It's close to a shopping center with a good supermarket, a bank, and an Italian Restaurant that we used for takeout twice; the Keauhou harbor, where several of the snorkeling tours depart; and Kahalu'u Bay, which has excellent snorkeling. It also has very easy access to Route 11 (Hawaii Belt Road). less

Great view, not great apartment

. I am sorry to say that while the view from the condo is magnificent, we felt our stay was marred by the poor swimming facilities. One pool for all these condos is inadequate and the pool itself is badly in need of refurbishment. The master bathroom in the condo was also a let down with an old shower and broken plug in the sink. The screen door leading off the master bedroom is broken and propped against the wall. It is off its runners. In light of all of these things, we have decided to cut our stay short and find other accommodation which is more to our taste. less

Great vacation experience

On first entry into the condo, the first thing that we noticed was how much space our new place actually had. Kitchen was spacious, well lit with lots of cupboard space. Counter top was granite and the appliances were all newer stainless steel. The rest of the unit was clean with good quality furniture. There was a large bedroom on the main floor with a queen size bed that my oldest daughter used. A large loft with another queen bed was the space my youngest girl claimed for herself. The master bed room was very large with sliding doors that lead out on a very large lani. A second set of sliding doors lead out onto the lani from the main living area. This provided a great view from the living room area when the sun came up the following morning. And what a view it was! A lava rock coast line traced itself up and down the complex while getting constantly battered by the ocean provided a very relaxing treat for all the senses. Beautiful place to enjoy that morning cup of coffee. The sunset in the evening from the same vantage point was amazing and one of my personal hilights of our trip. A stroll around the grounds revealed well kept beautiful lawns accented with lava rocks, large trees and shrubs. Tennis courts and a swimming pool provided much activities for all of us during our stay. To top it all off, a walk to the back of the complex put you that much nearer to that ocean experience that we had from our lani. Negative things were hard to find during our stay and the only things that came to mind was the screen doors were not fitting properly and came of the track a couple of times. Also, the hallway door was jamming a little. All in all, this was a beautiful condo. Wonderful area and a great place to call home for our stay on the big island. less

This condo is amazing! Great location, perfect views and super c

We stayed here for a week and loved both the surf and racket club and particularly this condo. It was amazing to wake every day to the sound of the ocean and watch dolphins in the bay during breakfast. The condo has everything you need and is very well kept and super comfortable. We loved being on the top floor for the views, the added privacy and the wonderful ocean breeze!! The owner, Bruce, was great at checking that we had everything for our stay and quick to respond to any queries both before our stay and during. As for the club, it is just far enough away from the main strip to give peace and quite but close to everything. The pool is great and we walked daily to the close by snorkleing bay to swim with turtles. It was a great place to base ourselves to explore the Big Island. I would recommend this particular unit to anyone. less

Had a wonderful time, loved the condo and the resort!

The resort is very quite and peaceful. The grounds at the resort are wonderful! We saw them meticulously taking care of them on a daily basis. The pool area and the BBQ area are wonderful, and nice and clean. The condo was wonderful, very homey and nicely decorated. The view is just simply beyond words, and in addition to the wonderful views every day, we enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets every evening on the lanai. Even the garden view was great! The beds are the most comfortable I think I've ever slept on. The upstairs bedroom is loving decorated in a dolphin theme for children. The condo is very well stocked with everything you need. The only thing missing is you and a trip to the grocery store for food, which is very close by. Every day we had the pleasure of seeing dolphins go by. It was the wrong time of year to see whales, but if visiting in the early spring you can probably be guaranteed you will see them from the wonderful lanai. The only slightly negative is some parts of the condo are in need of a deep down cleaning. That's not to say that it wasn't clean, because it was clean and very comfortable. It just needs some deep down detail work done. I probably only notice these little things because I clean homes for a living. All-in-all I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family, and we definitely will stay at this condo when we go back. The owners Bruce and Vicki are the greatest to deal with. I had many questions and some requests and emailed them many times. They were quick to respond and so very helpful. A pleasure to deal with! less

Accomodation was home away from home

We spent a week in 2-302 condo in Kona Surf and racquet Club at the end of July 2013. We have 3, almost grown-up kids, so space and rooms were perfect for us. Condo is looking over the beautiful reef and every night we could enjoy unobstructed view of sunsets from the balcony. Kitchen was full of cooking supply, dishes and barbecue in resort was perfect way to prepare dinner. less
