A relaxing getaway to the 'Big Island'
My stay at this resort was fabulous! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great place to relax while enjoying some amazing sunsets and listening to the ocean waves crash against the lava rock from the comfort of the Lanai. In a great location this condo offers easy accessibilty to Queen K and/or ali'i Dr. to travel around the island if you so choose. An easy walk to a local shopping center that offers groceries, a movie theater, pharmacies and more. This is a condo to consider when traveling to the Big Island.

Sunset dinners right by the ocean.
A beautiful condo right on the ocean. We had dinner every night on the balcony, looking at the sunset. It was great. The condo is cleaned and well stocked. The shore by the condo is rocky but the public beach is an easy five minute walk away. The snorkling at the beach is very good. One downside is there's not a lot of privacy in the master bedroom. There's a path between the ocean and the condo and the bedroom only has a very light sunscreen. The moveable wall between the bedroom and the living room is paper thin. Overall, a very relaxing place. Recommended.

Fantastic! The best vacation!!
It was probably the best vacation we've had in ages!!! The condo was spacious, which was great as we have three teenagers, and we didn't feel like we were falling over each other. I absolutely adored the sound of the ocean at nights and sitting on the lanai very early in the morning having breakfast. We were within short walking distance to Kahaluu Beach Park as we loved the snorkeling there and it was great being provided with boogie boards and snorkel gear so we didn't have to buy those items. Shopping was close by too. With all the fabulous beaches and exciting things to do, we regrettably ran out of time to try out the tennis courts. Our only complaint is that our time was too short there and we can only dream of getting back as soon as possible!

Beautiful and comfortable
Beautiful location, very clean, comfortable beds and full kitchen. Right on the water! Beach towels, ice chests, chairs, umbrellas, sand buckets all there. Good movie and book collection too. Very quiet since it is in a gated area. This was well worth the reasonable price, and we will use it again if we are lucky enough to go back to Hawaii. Dealing with the owner and manager was very easy, and they were very friendly.

The condo was great in terms of the views and the amenities provided. Our only complaints were that the garbage disposal wasn't working and the the screen doors in the two bedrooms weren't able to be locked. In the master bedroom, the screen door lock had been messed with and had been re-installed inproperly. In the other bedroom, the screen on the window doesn't even cover the window, thus we couldn't use the screens at night.

This condo was incredible. It's right on the ocean and close to town. We saw spinner dolphins nearly every day while we had our breakfast on the lanai. Even though we didn't need the second bedroom, how could you resist for this price? The condo had all of the standard amenities you would expect - like microwave, blender, VCR/DVD player, iron with ironing board, ceiling fans in nearly every room including the bathrooms, barbecue tools, pots, pans, etc. What really made it feel like home were the little things you would not expect in a condo like this - immersion blender, rice cooker, waffle iron, sandwich maker, toaster oven, even toothpicks for my Martinis. All you need to bring is the food. The closets were full of boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, tennis equipment, suntan lotions, aloe vera, beach mats, beach towels and an extra fan. (You can really travel light.) There is no air conditioning, but that really wasn't an issue. It doesn't get that hot in Kona, but it does get humid. The condo was not brand new, but it was in good shape. The lanai furniture did appear to be very new and good quality. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

There were several problems with the unit. The electrical outlets in both bathrooms did not work, when pluging in night lites or other appliances. Tried to use the electrical outlet in the small bedroom behind the dressor and it sparked when the cord was plugged in, so did not use. The screens on the windows and doors would not close properly, letting in mosquitos that gave my wife numerous bites.
Manager response:
Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. We strive to improve our services and your suggestions are very much appreciated. We have contacted Bruce our local contact and forwarded your comments and suggestions to him. Bruce will have the outlets repaired and we will replace the screens on the windows and doors.
Thank you very much for your reservation and we do value your comments and suggestions.

Hawaii 2010 from Colorado on 03/17/2010 said:
Although the location of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is very convenient, the unit we stayed in (2-102) left much to be desired. The beds were comfortable and clean, as was the living room furniture. The bathrooms and especially the kitchen, were very outdated, run down and dirty. Dirty in terms of being so old and run down that no amount of cleaning or fresh paint would spiff them up. This became very onerous during a two week stay in March 2010. The patio furniture was also sub-standard; not even as nice as the chaise lounges at the community pool. It was not pleasant at all to pay the amount we paid for furnishings and accommodations that were barely tolerable.
Manager response:
Dear John,
Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. We strive to improve our services and your suggestions are very much appreciated. We are in the process of purchasing new lanai furnitures. We are also going to upgrade the furniture in the smaller bedroom. We have contacted Bruce our local contact, and Merwylle, our cleaner and forwarded your comments and suggestions to them. We will definitely improve our amenities, thanks to your input.

We had a great time staying here. This unit has a wonderful view of the ocean and you can sit on the lanai and watch the sunset. The condo had everything we needed for our stay to include boogie boards, beach towels and flashlights for the night hike at the Volcano! The swimming pool has been completely redone and is absolutely gorgeous and warm, which I loved since I am not a cold water lover. We used the BBQ area several times, which was great for all of the people we had. I would totally recommend this unit for anyone wanting to stay on the Big Island at a reasonable cost. The only negative with a ground floor unit is having to close up the condo when you go out so its a bit stuffy when you return. However, it cools off quickly with the ocean breeze. This unit stays much cooler than the third floor units. Also, the key card for the gate was no longer there but we just used the key code. I was pleased with the goodies that were there for us on our arrival and the condo is extremely close to the golf course (absolutely beautiful to play)and shopping. The weather was terrific, 86 degrees. All in all this was definitely the best vacation we have had.

Booking and dealing with the owners before arrival was easy and friendly. The Condo was neat and tidy and just right for us - 2 people for 2 weeks then 5 for 1 week. The location was awesome gorgeous views lovely and quiet, the trolley bus and shops were close and convenient. The local contact was friendly and efficient, checking in and out was no hassle at all, it was neat to have it cleaned once a week while we were there. There was washing powder, toilet paper, some toiletries and dishwash powder etc provided which was great. A very nice touch was the box of chocolates and little bag of coffee on arrival, it made us feel welcome. It was nice to have soft comfortable beds too as both my Dad and myself suffer from bad backs, so 3 weeks in a comfortable bed was great. The pool was very very nice!! I swam at least twice a day. One of the best things about staying here at the Surf and Racquet club was the really friendly cheerful ground staff, especially Jim the landscape supervisior and a couple of the younger guys, it made all the difference to our stay and one of the biggest reasons I would stay there when I come back. The best thing about our stay was the friendliness of the people, there was nothing we did not like, it was perfect. Many thanks to the owners and staff that made our stay great. Wickham family

This condo had a great view of the ocean and was roomy enough for a family of four. The condo was clean but the furniture was very dated and a bit run down. We came to this condo on the off-season so the price was reasonable for the condition of the condo. If we had to pay full in-season price, I would've have expected newer furniture and a few more amenities, such as sugar for the coffee. Also, there are very, very strict rules at the pool (example: No unnecessary loudness) which can be challenging with small children.

Let me first say that I spent many hours looking for the perfect Kona accomodations, and I found them in unit 2-203! From beginning to end, Steve was professional and made our trip flawless and fabulous. This condo is clean, spacious and the view is to die for! We watched spinner dolphins and beautiful sunsets on the lanai - the ocean was so close you could almost reach out and touch it! For the price, this condo can't be beat! We had hair dryers, and every emenity you can imagine. Even the cooler and ice packs for our picnics! We vacationed with our daughter and son-in-law and we all loved the condo, we felt pampered here. When we had an issue with the washer, Steve called to help us solve the simple problem. The only things we needed during a 10 day stay were a cookie sheet and vegetable peeler, but I bet Steve has those stocked for the next family to stay at this wonderful condo. I would not hesitate to return here or to recommend this unit to anyone looking for the perfect vacation getaway at an unbelievable price! We tried going through a travel agent first, and would have paid double had we gone that route. Loved everything about this condo, thanks Steve!

We had a wonderful time visiting the island and enjoyed staying in this unit. The owner sent very detailed information which made it easy to find and get in and out. The home has a great view of the ocean and the property is well maintained. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. The home is showing some wear and tear and could use some renovations. One of the fans did not work and the kitchen knives were very dull and in need of sharpening.
Manager response:
As with all our guests, we appreciate the comments passed on by "cdj".
To add some clarification, we as owners would like to address the comments in the last couple of lines of "cdj's" comments. First, after the check-out we had our inspection and cleaning service check out the fans. All of them worked. The fans all work off newly (about 2 ˝ years ago) installed electrical wall switches which have multiple buttons and settings. We can only surmise that one or more of the buttons was in the off position such that the fan obviously did not turn on. During any guest's stay, the easy fix for this sort of issue, along with the knives, is simply to call our on-Island contact person who can ensure that the guest's concerns are taken care of. That person's contact information is noted in the check-in documentation and is visibly posted in more than one place within the unit.
We would also like to briefly note some of the renovations we have made since acquiring the unit a few years ago. Three (3) years ago we did a significant renovation to the kitchen area putting in granite counter tiling. This year we will be changing out the appliances in the kitchen (along with the washer/dryer in another room). Over the past 2 years we have renovated the master bathroom by completely tiling the shower area and making improvements to the sink area. Over the past 4 years, the entire set of furniture (excepting some decorative items) has been changed out to include the lanai furniture. Further, all electrical switches, outlets, and even the entire breaker box have changed out with all new and upgraded replacements. As this unit is directly on the ocean, and noting that it is in significant demand by potential guests wanting an ocean experience in Hawaii, there is a constant need to keep up on the upkeep and maintenance of the unit.
What we are trying to address concerning "cdj's" comments is that we do acknowledge the need to continuously keep the unit in top shape, and importantly we have been doing our best on a yearly basis.

Kyoko from Bellevue, WA on 12/03/2009 said:
The room was very clean and had comfortable furnishings. The view was great from the lanai. Wish there was a pull down shade on the lanai to block the afternoon sun from heating up the room.
Manager response:
First, we would like to express our appreciation to Kyoko for being our guest at our Hawaii Ocean Front home.
Most of our guests rent our vacation home expressly for the ocean "feel" and particularly delight in viewing the nightly sunset over the ocean. With respect to Kyoko's comment concerning the afternoon sun, the unit faces west with a 180°, unobstructed, direct ocean view. The lanai does have a ceiling extension that fully covers the lanai floor area, and thus provides protection from the rain and provides shade from the sun into the early to mid-afternoon.
In order to not obstruct either the ocean or the sunset views in any manner, understanding that the late afternoon sun does shine on the lanai, we have purposely opted to not install a pull down exterior lanai shade.

The second bedroom has a double and a single and the master is seperated from the living room via a 'shogi' and enjoys the same stunning lanai view, from the bed. The kids enjoyed the clubs pool, the free wi-fi via their PSP and Kahalu'u beach park which is about half a mile down the road towards Kona where they enjoyed snorkelling. Its about 6 miles into Kona for restauants, shops, ABC stores etc and as we had a car this was no problem. Sitting on the lanai, you're probably 30 feet from the very rocky (so no one will be swimming in front of the condo) shore. So you get to go to sleep to the sound of the ocean. Free wireless internet too. The only downside is that there's no A/C. But with the windows and doors open on both sides you get a great cross breeze

This condo is in the perfect location in the complex...a short stroll to the pool and barbeques. We found it extremely clean and well-kept. The views from our lanai couldn't be beat. We saw whales every day and a pod of dolphins. The grounds are beautiful and our morning bird visitors were so cute! The condo was nicely furnished and had everything we required...right down to the beach towels and sand mats. We lots of dishes, glassware and cooking appliances. There were a few things that need attention; toilet runs in 2nd bathroom; mirror on vanity should be replaced or fixed, and, alas, the ice maker didn't work. The beds were all very comfortable except for the twin in the second bedroom. It was hard as that lava rock!
Manager response:
We wish to thank each guest who takes the time to provide feedback on our Hawaii Vacation Home. We sincerely appreciate the kind comments passed on by Jo Anne from Salt Lake. Noting that Jo Ann took the time to put together her comments, we would like to address some of the concerns she noted.
We did not know until after her stay that there was a problem with the 2nd toilet. Turned out that the flushing handle was broken on the inside (literally a $5 dollar part at Ace Hardware), and we had our on-island repair person fix it in about 5-10 minutes. With respect to such items, we provide to all incoming guests some check-in paperwork listing the on-island contact person. That information is also posted in multiple locations inside the vacation home. Should any of our guests see a needed repair, the provided information suggests that the guest contact our on-island person for immediate attention. For some reason this was not done during Jo Ann's stay and we only noticed the toilet handle problem during the cleaning and inspection after the check-out.
Every year during the May/June time frame, we as owners stay in the vacation home to effect repairs, renovations, and upgrades. We had previously scheduled a mini-renovation of the master bathroom which we did accomplish in June just after Jo Ann's stay. Specifically, we completely replaced the Master Bathroom mirrors, medicine cabinet, and the lighting above the vanity area. Having noted the replacement and upgrade, we would like to note that living on the ocean has its challenges to just about anything human-made. With regard to mirrors, the salt air can penetrate between the glass and the backing of mirrors especially around the edges. This deteriorates the chemical backing such that one gets an oxidized (blackened) effect making the mirror look darkened and losing its reflective ability.
While the model of the refrigerator is designed for ice maker capability, this vacation home does not have an ice-maker water line to the refrigerator. Thus, it is not the case that an ice maker doesn't work, but rather that there is no ice maker. We do provide several ice trays and a freezer ice bucket, as well as several "ice packs or pads" which can be used in ice coolers.
As concerns the hard twin bed, we would like to note that we have 3 beds (a king, a queen, and a twin) as well as a queen sleeper sofa hide-a-bed which folds out from the living room sofa. Our experience with guests over the years is that there are as many opinions w.r.t. hard and soft beds as there are people. We try to accommodate by having different levels of hardness and softness across the various beds in the vacation home. The twin may be firm, but the other beds will vary in firmness. We also include a special "egg shell foam mattress pad" which can be put on or taken off the king size bed to accommodate the firmness desired of our respective guests. In short, we purposely have beds of varying firmness to accommodate the varying firmness desirability of our guests.

The bathrooms and kitchen have recently been updated and we found both clean and well stocked. The condo complex's position in Keauhou means it is close to great snorkeling and shopping with grocery stores, restaurants, theatres and a farmer's market on Saturday. Keauhou is a guiet, safe area for walking and other parts of the island are easily accessible. KS&RC has a very large pool, excellent tennis courts and convenient free parking. The owners of this unit were very accommodating and easy to work with - the condo was exactly as represented - we will definitely return.

We really appreciated the waterfront view and ground floor location. There were lots of water "toys" for us to use. The grounds were lovely, lots of birds and flowers. The ancient ruins on the site were a bonus. The proximity to Kahaluu Beach was great for snorkeling. The kitchen was a little dated and the smell from the sink was not good. The gift basket for the first morning was really appreciated.
Manager response:
As the Owner of the condo, I always make sure it is in top condition for my guests. The condo is checked by my contact person and cleaned for 3-4 hours by the cleaning person upon guest departure, and is additionally checked again before the next guest arrives. If anything is not perfect, out of place, smells bad etc it will be detected before the next guest arrives. Contacting my cleaning person and contact person did confirm these facts. Sometimes it is possible, while a guest is staying at the condo that things may happen to cause something to be not be quite right. For this reason, I have paid a local contact person to always be available by phone for the guests to take care of any problems that may arise. Please contact this person, whose name and contact number is listed in the condo, and is additionally sent by email to my guests before arrival, if any problems should arise.
I'm not sure what" dated" Kitchen refers to, but I can state that the kitchen has been recently updated to include all new major and small appliances, resealed kitchen cabinets, a new state-of -the -art brushed nickel sink faucet, paint etc. The kitchen counter top is tile and not granite, so maybe this is "dated" to some people. However I do know that the kitchens in many new homes on the mainland are still installed with tile.
Also, please keep in mind the kitchen photo on the web site in older (October 2009) and does not reflect the current state (many updates in April 2010).

My wife, three daughters, and I stayed in KKSRC Condo 5-103 for a week in April and would definitely stay here again on a future visit. With the off-season rate, we were able to stay in this beautiful, 2 Br oceanside condo for little more than a room in a typical chain hotel on the mainland. The condo was clean and comfortable with beds for 3 people in the second bedroom (fifth person didn't have to stay on a hide-a-bed). The unit is ground floor and right next to the ocean. We ate our meals at the table on the lanai to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for the cooking we did. A gift basket from a local vendor was a nice touch. The condo includes coolers for your day trips, beach chairs and towels, a couple boogie boards, a couple sets of snorkeling gear - we pretty much just had to provide food. The condo is just a minute or two away from a shopping center with a grocery and a drug store, which is very convenient. Also, it is located just a minute from Kahaluu Beach Park, which has great snorkeling. We saw more variety of fish here than on our snorkeling expedition. Communication from the owners was great, from clear information regarding billing and policies to the instructions for getting into the unit. As I said in the title, a great place to stay on the big island.

This has to be one of the best views on the Kona coast for a very reasonable price. The owner has gone to great lengths to offer amenities for the guests, providing beach towels, snorkels, tennis rackets, boogie boards and more. No longer do we have to stuff these toys in our luggage. The condo is well furnished, even with a washer and dryer and excellently maintained. Everything worked. We especially enjoyed the lanai where we ate our meals with the million-dollar view. We will be back!!!

Condo 5-103 was a wonderful experience. It was well equipped with many needed items such as beach equipment, dishes, towels, etc. and had 3 TV's as well as great wireless internet. The only thing preventing me from rating it 5 stars is the dated condition of some of the condo. The second bathroom needed some work, the kitchen was a little dated, we had issues with the vertical blinds. However, it was clean and well stocked, as well as having an excellent location so we over-looked those minor issues. All in all I would very much recommend this condo to others.
Manager response:
We are always trying to keep our condo in the best condition possible for our guests. So per some suggestions, just did some renovations to the condo that have included some updates to the kitchen, including a new ceramic top range. I have also installed new easy to use bamboo blinds for the master bedroom and living room and added a paddle style ceiling fan/light in the lanai, plus many other fixes and improvements (including a spotting scope for the guest's enjoyment).
Thank you to all the guests for your feedback and all the great reviews!

Absolutely perfect! The condo was COMPLETELY stocked and in a most private location. The grounds staff was so helpful and kind and did a great job keeping everything lush and beautiful. The condo was so inviting and comfortable for our family (3 adults & 3 young children). But it would also make a very romantic escape, minus the kids. We rarely return to the same place twice so that we can experience new places. This is one exception. With out a doubt we would go back again and again. Listening to the surf lull you to sleep and watching whales from the lanai were just two of the many incredible things we enjoyed here. They had everything you would at home from beach and snorkel gear to office supplies and laundry dryer sheets, it's all here! We really appreciated the welcome basket, it was nice to have local farmers market items like fresh fruits and muffins to hold us over until we could get to the store. If you are considering staying here, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Check out the blowholes along the shore just a minute walk towards the golf course, during high tide the water really shoots up!

It was a very pleasant experience in condo 5-103. The rental process was realy easy. As we were commimg from Austria which means a 20 hour flight, it was important for us to find everything perfect immediately, and it was. . Very clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. The only noise you get to hear are the ocean waves breaking just a few meters away. Even with three children age 12,12 and 16 the condo offered enough space. The swimming pool was very nice and the nearby snorkelbeach was perfect. We highly recommend this condo. Even if it's a long flight we are planning our return already.

We stayed for two nights in this very nice end unit with the ocean just across the walkway. It's a bit out of town and the parking is about 75 yards from the door, but it easily accomodated two couples, was nice and clean, and the management company was most helpful. There was somebody parking in our parking space when we arrived, but they took care of it right away and we had no other problems at all. We did not use the tennis courts, but they looked as if they were well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Nicely stocked pantry as well!! We spent every morning and evening on the Lanai. Numerous whale and dolphin sightings right in our private backyard! We BBQ fresh fish every night and enjoyed the beautiful ambience of unobstructed ocean view. Just 1/4 mile to best snorkel beach in Kona, you just couldn't ask for more. We were there for the Tsunami scare and impressed with the responsiveness of the caretakers. Hope to be there same time same place next year!! Only thing we didn't like was having to come home!! Our stay at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club was such a wonderful experience. We enjoyed our two week stay watching the whales playing each morning from our lanai. Sleeping to the sound of the surf on the lava rock was soothing for the most part, but did get rather loud sometimes! Each evening after we explored the island we would return "home" to watch the gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific. The location was close to great shopping, fine restaurants and a beach just down the road. The townhome was amazingly well furnished with so much; we wanted for nothing. It really was magic! We were hesitant to stay at the same place we had been to 27 years ago! However, it turned out to be a wonderful choice. Being greeted with a basket of goodies and tote bag was a great surprise! The decor was wonderful, all furnishings were above average and the quality of bed linens and towels were appreciated. It was also great to have the coolers, beach mats etc. for our stay. The location worked for us with downtown a few minutes away, a grocery close by... and of course the pool a few steps away! We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and watched the whales from the lanai. Being from the north and used to our 'quiet' mountains and snow, the noise of the waves crashing against the rocks outside the townhome took a little getting used to, but we did our best!

We booked this townhome through Aloha Condos, becuase it provided a very good description and numerous pictures, showing you exactly what you'll be getting. It you want oceanfront, this is as close as you will ever get! The ocean thunders right up to a seawall just a few feet in front of the condo, and at high tide some waves actually cause the condo to shake a little. It is lovely to sit outside on the lanai and watch the water and the sunset -- we ate most of our meals out there. The condo is very well equipped, has everything you would need. We did't use the tennis rackets or the beach equipment, but it was nice to know it was there. The kitchen is small but completely equipped, full size fridge, range and dishwasher. The Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club is very nice, with a large pool and several tennis courts available. We enjoyed the quite, laid back atmosphere. Close by is Keahou Shopping Center, which has a grocery store, a drug store, and several small restaurants. All in all a great place to stay.

This condo has it all. Two bedrooms, living room, two bathrooms, kitchen, gorgeous patio (lanai), and a view of waves crashing against the lava rock boulders along the shore 10 feet away. Tastefully decorated in island decor. Kitchen has all utensils and cooking supplies you need. Condo even included coolers and snorkel equipment to borrow. Master bedroom with louvered windows that provide stunning view of ocean. If we had wanted to play tennis, we could have brought our racquets and walked 10 yards to the court and play for free. Located about a 15 minute drive south of the Kona city center with all the shops and restaurants. No noise from vehicles along Alii drive. The only noise is the crash of the waves against the shore. This was the first half of our honeymoon and we had a marvelous time. Cooked dinner multiple nights in the kitchen and then ate out on the lanai, watching the sun set to the west over the ocean. Condo is clean, comfortable, well-decorated, and well-equipped, not to mention reasonably priced for HAWAII! We couldn't have asked for anything more.

The grounds were well kept, the pool was awesome, the home was clean, the furnishings were in excellent condition and the house was nicely decorated. The house is oceanfront with an awesome view. We had the upstairs master bedroom windows open to help keep us cool at night. With the home being oceanfront it means constant waves crashing against the rocks. This is awesome but also takes some time getting use to if your use to quiet conditions when falling asleep. Probably my least favorite thing about the home is the air conditioning unit. It's in the livingroom with the back half in the lanai. It is noisy but efficient for the downstairs part of the house. We turned it off when using the lanai. This is the second home I have rented in Hawaii with air and both were the same way. The home has fans in every room if the heat/humidity is not an issue for you. I would reccomend and rent this unit again.

This is a piece of paradise! What an amazing place! Located 20 minutes south of the airport, and 5-10 south of downtown Kona, it was the perfect location. This 2BR/2bath condo is oceanfront, with a beautiful lanai with only a few feet of lava separating you from from the Pacific ocean. You are lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves crashing onto the lava. From this lanai we watched spinner dolphins play every morning, humpback whales pass by, and watched the sun set into the sea. The condo was extremely clean and well furnished, equipped with everything we needed and more! Wireless internet, all cooking utensils, spices, tupperware for picnics, coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, movies, 3 tvs, dvd players, ac, fans, tour books, restaurant recommendations... the list is endless... the owners even had flashlights to use on the search for lava on the evening hike through Volcano National Park! The owners were also very prompt and friendly in all our interactions. The resort itself was well landscaped, with a nice pool and tennis courts, and several ruins of Hawaiian temples and places of worship. It was quiet and peaceful. There is a a small beach at the end of the property that just teems with green sea turtles! Further down the walk, there is Kahalu'u Beach, a salt and pepper sand beach that has great snorkeling and full facilities. It was hard to swim here without almost running into turtles! :) I have nothing negative to say about our stay at TH #177. It was a beautiful place to stay in paradise, that exceeded my expectations in every way. We were tempted to cancel our next reservation on Waikiki Beach so we could enjoy this piece of paradise a bit longer! Location, amenities, decor, activities, view, and cleanliness are all superb. I would love to return there asap!

First time visiting the Big Island, and I came with my wife and two teenage daughters, and this was perfect! The lanai overlooking the ocean made the mornings and evenings a delight, seeing the sun rise and set over the wide expanse of hte ocean. It is furnished with everything you could need (beach stuff, dishes, even washer/dryer). Would definitely recommend this property to anyone - correspondence befoe arriving was very detailed, with detailed directions, maps and very responsive to questions. Being about 5 mins from the town, you don't feel like you have to fight the crowds, but can easily access beaches, shops, etc. I have nothing but praise for the property and owner, and am hoping to return and stay here again soon.

We found out about this condo through Trip Advisor and it was very well rated there and we agree! We really appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer in the unit. The built-in safe in the master bedroom was nice for that sense of security. We also really liked the extra bathroom downstairs, especially for rinsing out and drying swimsuits and snorkel gear inside, without worrying about leaving them outside. We really enjoyed watching multiple sunsets over the crashing waves from the privacy of the back patio. The only downside was that the water was too rough to go swimming, especially with all the sharp rocks. The complex felt very private and secluded, while still being close to town. We walked along the coast to Kahaluu Beach, about half a mile north. It wasn't an easy walk, lots of black lava rock, so we walked back along the road. There were a lot of turtles and fish in the shallow water at Kahaluu and was really good snorkeling. The unit was very comfortable, although it was rather humid, so we should have sprung for the air conditioning, but the ceiling fans and house fan helped. I would definitely go back and stay again.

After visiting all of the islands and staying in multiple hotels, we finally found a place that feels like home. Going to sleep each night to the sound of the surf is sheer bliss in and off itself and the comfy beds just added to the experience. Sitting not 10 feet from the ocean each evening for cocktails while watching the 'green flash' was the icing on the cake. Might I add, the sound of the birds in the morning from the guest room was a daily reminder that we were in paradise. We loved the central location and being w/in walking distance of shopping, farmers markets, excellent snorkeling and the free trolley downtown if we didn't feel like getting in the car and driving. We really appreciated the provided beach toys, towels and coolers and used them almost every day. Although this is a large complex, it felt very private and comfy to us. We loved it, can't way to return again-loved the fact that it was secured.
