Unit 2301 at Kanaloa is one of the choice spots in the complex. We are ocean front with unobstructed views of the water, relaxing sea breezes and loads of privacy. The Ocean pool/picnic area is just around the corner. The patio area, which previously housed an Oceanside restaurant, now closed for business, is now available for use by our renters and owners. Several tables and chairs provide an area for eating or watching the beautiful Hawaiian sunsets each evening.
Lanai
Off the dining area, with its authentic Hawaiian table and chairs which can easily seat 4 guests, is the large lanai. We have a couch, granite table and ‘swing’ chair which most guests find quite enjoyable. A wet bar with granite top is next to the eating area which also provides seating for 4 people.
Entry Area
The unit is tiled throughout. The entry is to the great room; there you will find a shoe rack and a clothes tree to accommodate your towels and wraps. Within the unit in addition to the great room are a kitchen, hall, 2 bedrooms and baths. Inside the entry closet are boogie boards, coolers etc. available for our guests to use and enjoy!
Living Room
As you enter, the first thing you will notice is the absolutely beautiful view and sounds of the ocean. This is the only rental unit in Kanaloa where the 4 sliding doors have been removed and replaced with one very large glass accordion style door: entirely opening the lanai and ocean to the living area. Imagine the beauty of the outside immediately becoming part of the inside. Renters from September to May will enjoy Hawaiian sunsets from the quartzite tiled lanai.
The great room is furnished with durable leather furniture which wipes up in a second. While air conditioning is available, this room like all others has Hawaiian style ceiling fans to keep you cool. With the bay window, fold away lanai doors and the rhythmic sounds of the ocean waves, you know that you are absolute ocean front. Several family oriented movies are located near the DVD for your enjoyment.
Kitchen
The kitchen has been completely remodeled with stainless steel double sinks, faucets, refrigerator and dish washer. Counter tops are granite and floor large tile. Two walls were removed during the renovation which had previously enclosed the kitchen area. The new open area concept encourages the chefs in the family to enjoy guests, the large flat screen TV with DVD player, or the ocean view while preparing snacks or meals. An adjoining bar with stools enables guests and host to visit freely.
Laundry
The laundry closet contains stacked ‘he’ Samsung, ocean blue, front load washer and dryer. They are high efficiency units; therefore, require detergent that has ‘he’ in the label. A large container of the appropriate soap is situated on the table next to the laundry closet for your convenience.
Master Bedroom
Our master bedroom has a king sized pillow top bed, dresser and night stands. An area off the bedroom has been built to provide a small desk or computer area. It has a pocket door to allow for even more privacy. A wall mounted big screened TV is also available for watching TV following a day of wonderful activities in Paradise.
Second Bedroom
The guest bedroom has 2 twin beds for children or young adults. Move the center night stand, slide the two beds together and you have a super sized bed for grownups. A book shelf is well stocked for those who enjoy reading. Feel free to borrow or leave a used book for future guests.
Master Bathroom
Both bathrooms have been remodeled and feature glass block, walk in oversized showers with rain forest heads, double sinks, granite countertops and travertine floors. One bath is located across the hall from guest bedroom, while the other is off the master bedroom.
Second Bathroom

“ Aloha, Thank you for all the kind words. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our "Home away from Home". It was very nice of you to take the time to write your thoughts and suggestions. We are very new at this and do appreciate your views.. We have purchased the equipment to make the 2 single beds into one large one. We had 2 couples sharing the unit and made that request a while back but it must have been after your visit. My guess is Kaleo has them stored somewhere and sets it up when requested. Honestly, I did not realize there was anything like that available until our Condo management service mentioned it. Normally, we have families etc. so it is more convenient to have 2 smaller beds with the conversion available. We had them 'bunk' style for our Grandchildren when they visited. Having said that, most of our guests are not willing to climb a ladder to get into bed! I have extra hangers here and will take them over. We left plenty but they seem to have disappeared. Thanks for supplying new ones. Also a spatula as I have extra ones here. We also have more family tapes for our visitors to enjoy. There is a small dresser in the closet which we felt was large enough for guests. That room is pretty small. Perhaps we can get a larger one for the closet as that is quite large. As you know, the ocean has a horrible effect on all our furnishings and especially the things that have metal surfaces. We had problems with rust and deterioration while living there. Somehow, that view makes it okay though! I will check into the knife situation. We will take your other suggestions under consideration. Again, we are happy that you enjoyed the other amenities our unit offers. We would love to have you visit again.
